Chapter 14 - Leaning first Hero' skills

The morning after the chasing of the Taoists,

Patrick woke up early, thanks to Thamuz, and began his morning exercises and run. While Patrick was doing all these things, he was sure that he would obtain the final stat point in Agility to learn Heroes' skills.

And he was right, after all the run and exercises, he received notifications from the System.

("Yes! Finally!")

Patrick returned to his room, went to morning shower. He immediately went into the System's dimension after the shower. He wanted to see the Heroes' faces when he learned their skills.

"Hehehe, I wonder which Heroes' skills I should learn first."

"I don't think it's that easy, pitiful Master!" said Dyrroth.

Patrick ignored Dyrroth's remark and opened the System's interface.

"Wait, what! Except Layla's skills, everyone else's skills are locked! SYSTEM! Explain this!"

<>

"Pffft...hahaha...how pitiful!" laughed Dyrroth.

"Well, Master, at least you can learn my skills." said Layla.

"Master! Trust yourself and train. One day, you can learn all of our skills." said Eudora.

"..." Saber kept his silence.

"Weak creatures do not deserve to learn strong skills." stated Thamuz bluntly.

"Good morning, Kent!" said Patrick and sat down beside his best friend.

"Good morning...what the hell, man? Did a girl just rejected you or something?" Kent asked when he saw Patrick's face.

"No...this morning, I just received a very cool gift. But I have not reached the level to enjoy it fully." replied Patrick.

"Is it somehow related to your laziness?"

Patrick did not answer but looked away, avoiding Kent's eyes.

"Ha, I knew it. That's why I told you many times before to stop being lazy!"

"Ugh, I know, I will improve!" said Patrick.

After the school day ended,

("This boss is suck. He forced me to work for him unpaid, but did not provide any daily necessities for me.") thought Kai as he was trying to find Patrick.

("Ah, there he is!") Kai saw Patrick when his rich friend was going toward a black car parking in a corner, shadowed by many trees.

"Patrick, wait!" shouted Kai while running toward him.

"Oh, what is it, Kai?" Patrick turned around when he heard Kai's shout.

"You are such a bad boss. You told me to work for you unpaid, but there is no daily necessities provided. I was fired from my last job, you know? How can I put food in my mouth from next month onward?" complained Kai.

"But I haven't told you to do anything yet. So of course, there is nothing provided. Be reasonable!" replied Patrick.

"WHAT!!!"

"Haha...just kidding, get on the car!"

Patrick and Kai got on the car, which drove to the building which formerly was Chip & Roulette casino.

"What! It had already been prepared! That's fast!" Kai was completely surprised.

"Go in!" said Patrick.

Kai stepped inside and he could see a peaceful and decent café.

"A café?" asked Kai.

"Yes, now go inside the staff room and put on the uniform. You will start working from today!" said Patrick.

After a few minutes, Kai stepped out of the staff room in his new uniform, looking just like a handsome café waiter.

Patrick gave him a thumb up before added "Ah, I nearly forgot. This café from sunrise to sunset is a normal café, but at night, it will revert back to being a casino, plus being a nightclub."

"What!!! How could a student like you do this kind of business?"

"If you don't want to work anymore, return the uniform and pay 20 million plus 3000 cellons."

"Argh, alright!" said Kai, admitting his defeat.

"Everyday, you could go to the staff's kitchen to get your meals. You could sleep here if you want." said Patrick before bidding farewell.

***

("It's time to learn the skills!") thought Patrick upon entering the System's dimension.

<>

"No, with all the Heroes here looking at me when they have no mission, it felt cramped. Plus I think I will be luckier if I summon the 6th Hero at another time." replied Patrick.

("I would be dead if it were another hellish trainer.")

<>

("Ugh, stop reading what I'm thinking all the time!")

"Let's get started, Master!" said Layla.

"Ok!"

And a rifle that looked like Layla's appeared in Patrick's hands.

"Huh, why does it look so old and easy to break?"

<>

"Master, first you should hold the rifle like this!" said Layla, indicating for Patrick to follow her.

"Ok!"

("I didn't think the rifle was this heavy, but look like I can manage it.")

<>

<>

("Woah, cool!")

Suddenly, several human-figure targets appeared inside the System's dimension.

"It's very simple, Master. Just lock on your target and shoot." said Layla before she shot down 5 of the targets.

Seeing how easy Layla could do it, Patrick also locked on his targets and shot. However, his first shots whether missed the targets, or destroyed the targets partly.

"Pffft...hahaha...how pitiful! If you shoot like that, your enemies will either get to you and cut your throat first, or they will have to lie on the ground, screaming in pain and dying slowly." laughed Dyrroth.

Frustrated, Patrick turned his rifle toward Dyrroth and shot. But Dyrroth dodged the energy blast easily.

"Bleh!" Dyrroth stuck out his tongue out.

"I will show you I can do it excellently!" Patrick raised one finger at Dyrroth and then turned back, continue his shooting.

"Finally!" Patrick jumped up out of happiness. He had struck down all targets perfectly.

<>

<>

"Woah, I didn't know that I can gain stat point by doing this too."

<>

Targets began to appear from the ground again, only this time, they began to move around.

("Ugh, of course!")
