It was a cold winter night, a group of soldiers was patrolling around the city wearing Navy-colored military suits, wearing gas masks, which completely covered their head, and carrying M-52 assault rifles
Upon patrolling one soldier spots a person, a man, he approaches him and crouches down to examine the man
The man was lying there and moves to see the soldier as he was being examined
"We got a live one!" the soldier reports
To double-check, another soldier goes to the soldier and crouches next to him to check the body
Then soldier then stands up and walks away
"What are we going to do with him?" the soldier asked
"What else are we going to do with him" the soldier replies while walking back to the group
"Kill him"
"But, sir…"
"I don't give a damn if he is alive or not, just shoot the damn thing," the soldier said
"But sir… he is still alive, couldn't we just bring him back to treat-"
"Are you disobeying orders, Soldier Z-295?" the soldier said
"No, captain"
"It's sir," the captain said
"No, sir" replied Z-295
"Then shoot him, unless you are one of them" as the captain reaches for his pistol and cocks it, aiming at Z-295
Cocking the gun Z-295 then aims at the man and the man looks at him and then closes eyes and does a small smile
Z-295 closes his eyes and dispersed 2 shots on to the man, instantly killing him
"Good work, soldier" as the captain holstered his pistol
"Let's continue patrolling" as he ordered the rest of the soldiers to start moving
Z-295 on the other hand stood there looking at the man that he just killed as he saw the man's smile
Though it couldn't be seen through the gas mask, Z-295 started to shed tears
The soldier at the end of the patrol looked at Z-295 and comes to him
"We better get moving or we will be too far from the patrol," the soldier said putting his open hand on to Z-295's soldier
"There is no use to mourn over someone who has betrayed the government" as he let his hand go from Z-295
"Let's go now"
"...Alright" as Z-295 finally took his eyes of the man he just killed and rejoined the patrol with the other soldiers and continued patrolling
