We eventually made it to the huge field in which the graduation was taking place. Our group walked around a bit looking at the other student's outfits. I eventually spotted Haru in the crowd, I waved to him. He spotted my arm in the sea of people and made his way towards us.
"Hey, you look good." He complimented me with a smile. Kyllie gave me a small smirk. I rolled my eyes in response. Soon after Samuel approached us. Our little group walked together until it was time for it to start. But then Samuel suddenly stopped walking.
I slowed down a bit, but he still wasn't moving forward. His head drooped and his eyes were glued to the floor. I took a look at the rest of the group walking off then back at Samuel. I took a deep breath.
"Hey, what's wrong?" I said in a softer tone, a bit different from my usual voice.
Samuel stayed silent for a few moments. He took a deep breath then suddenly moved his right hand behind my jaw. He brought his lips closer to my ear. He whispered something into it, his warm breath tickling my ear. Then he walked off as nothing happened. I was surprised by the sudden action, which until teachers and staff announced and gather students to come and get ready for the actual graduation to start.

I had already gotten my name called. I was gifted my certificate, I shook my principal's hand, and I walked off the stage as a high school graduate.
I wondered the large crowd of students and families to find my group. I eventually found Haru again.
"We finally did it, we made it out of this hell hole!" His excitement burst like a child's.
"So what are you going to do now? We're done with high school." I asked.
"Well, I'm going to continue my internship until I'm done with college. Hopefully, with that experience and my degree, I can become an official detective." He smiled at me, satisfied with his plans.
"How about you? What are you going to do?" He asked.
"I think I'm going to major in horticulture. I enjoyed the flower arrangement class a lot." I smiled back.
"Hey which college are you going to?" He asked.
I explained I was going to the college that was a bit outside of our current town. It was a good college, at least from what the former students and websites provided.
"Woah that's so cool! I'm going there too!" Haru got excited again.
"Do you want to be my not alone buddy? Kyllie said she was going to the local college here, so I'll be lonely." I frowned a bit as I finished my statement.
"Was that even a question? Of course!" Haru replied.
He and I laughed and talked about our plans for a few minutes until I checked my phone.
"Hey, I'm sorry to cut this short but Samuel wanted me to come to his house after the ceremony. I'll see you at the dinner later tonight." I apologized. "I should be back at around 8 before we enter the restaurant."
Haru just nodded. I told him the address if he couldn't call me on my phone. I waved to him before I walked off.

I made it to Samuel's house on foot. Thankfully his home wasn't as far from the school as my apartment was. His house was on the corner of the street. I also heard from him that he didn't have a neighbor, so I wouldn't have to worry about bothering them anytime I came over.
I knocked on the door, and there was the raven-haired boy. He wasn't dressed in the suit that he wore during the ceremony, instead, he was dressed in a hoodie and sweatpants.
"Ha, I decided to get comfortable once I got home. Cmon in." He signaled me as he went back into the house. I followed him as told.
It was a nice house. It was clean and a bit spacious. I took off my shoes at the doorstep and left them on the side.
"You can sit on the couch. You want something to drink? Like tea, water, soda?" He asked.
"Water is fine please," I responded. He walked towards the kitchen, I heard clanking and stuff behind me.
"Hey Samuel, where are your parents?" I asked. He spoke of his parents now and then.
"My dad is away on a business trip for a month and my mom left to go help my grandma for a few weeks." He responded as he approached me again.
"Here." He handed me the clear glass.
"Thank you." I grasped the cup from his hand, holding it with both my hands. I held the delicate cup like a child.
We stayed in complete silence for a few moments until I took a sip from my glass. I observed the room quietly. I ended up drinking half the glass before setting it down on the coaster of the coffee table. I tapped my fingers on my thigh waiting patiently for him to start a conversation. But instead, he walked away.
I got very confused. Then I got anxious, I started staring at the floor. Is it something serious? I don't think I did anything wrong. I bit my lip at the thought. Then I heard his footsteps come back to the living room. I took a deep breath and faced forward. I focused my eyes on the glass before reaching it. I then again started sipping on my simple beverage Samuel had given me. I was able to relax my mind.
I had removed my lips from the glass. I mustered up the courage to say something.
"So Samuel, what did you need me to come here for exact-" The last words escaped my mouth. A cold object collided with the back of my head, pained followed, and surged through my head. I had dropped my glass onto the wood floor. I clutched the back of my head is pain. Warm liquid ran through my fingers down my arm. I wanted to look back, but instead my body collided with the couch. My thoughts ran blank as my vision went black.
