Chapter 18 - Chapter Seventeen- Modern Universe

After spending the night at the Village, Boom and AoStH Sonic started to return to the X Universe. However, they ran straight into the Tails Trapper Sonic Stopper Container. And it really is a Sonic Stopper Container. The two smashed to a halt like they'd run into a wall.

"Ow!" Boom complained, propping himself up on his elbow while having his other hand on his head.

AoStH popped up onto his feet.

"Hmm. The force field is back. I wondered why it was gone," AoStH got excited, "that means we can go find the Tails and help!"

That got Boom's attention. AoStH was right. The only reason they hadn't gone to look for the other Tails first off was because they had the other Sonics to go back to. They couldn't now, so he was on his feet in a split second.

"Then what are you waiting for? Let's go!" Boom nearly yelled.

They were both off in an instant.

X Universe

In the X Universe, the others noticed that Boom and AoStH Sonic were not there.

"They must have gone back to their own universes," X Cream rationalized.

"I don't know..." X Sonic mumbled, unconvinced.

"Boom probably went to tell his team about the lastest development, and AoStH probably went to make sure his Robotnik hasn't taken over his world yet," Modern Knuckles agreed.

X Sonic shrugged.

"Well, now that the force field is down, you Moderns can go home," Lego Sonic said.

"I wouldn't be surprised if it's back on by now, but it's worth a shot," Modern Sonic shrugged, "you guys can go home now."

"You sure?" Underground Sonic asked, "my sibs can keep my Robotnik under control, and I still want to help you get your Tails back."

"I'm sure," Modern Sonic finalised.

"Why are so so bent on helping us when you don't even have a Tails in your universe?" Sat AM Sonic asked curiously.

Underground looked at the ground.

"I know someone like him, okay?" he said a little too strongly.

"Okay, no need to get offended," Sat AM said, putting his hands up innocently.

Underground shrugged, but didn't look up.

Boom Universe

"Sonic hasn't come by for a week," Boom Amy fretted.

"Don't worry," Knuckles said, "he's still out with the other Sonics looking for Tails."

Amy nodded, then turned to Sticks.

"I still can't believe you, of all people, believed them immediately," she commented.

"No amount of faking makes you sound that sincere," Sticks replied, "they were other Sonics. Only Sonic cares that much about Tails, and only Sonic could be so distraught and apologetic about being the cause."

"That was a dirty trick Eggman pulled," Knuckles complained, "why would he do that?"

"So we wouldn't get in his way," Sticks answered, "you'd have still been pretending when the others came if it weren't for me snapping you out of it! And if you weren't pretending, you'd be angry, distraught balls of vengeance!"

"Oh come on, we wouldn't..." Amy paused, "actually, we probably would, but still!"

AoStH Universe

"I'm now ready for those rascals," AoStH Robotnik announced to the Super Special Sonic Search and Smash Squad (SSSSSS).

"You mean the Amys and Knuckles?" Scratch asked.

"And whatever buffoons they bring with them," Robotnik replied, "now go! Smash! Destroy! Obliterate! Do what you want! Mobius is mine!"

Robotnik laughed evilly, then turned back to the badniks.

"But make sure to stay within our universe's boundary. I don't want the others to know before we've gotten a foothold," Robotnik warned.

"Yes, your maliciousness," Scratch, Grounder and Coconuts said, saluting, then ran off excitedly.

The planet was conquered in a few days, and the people started to whisper about why Sonic hadn't stopped it.

"He's been defeated," some said.

"No, his friend is sick," others would argue.

"No, his friend is being held captive so Sonic won't do anything," still others said.

As the days turned to weeks and weeks to a month, a terrifying possibly came up. Those who were determined in Sonic's loyalty said he was being delayed, but many thought he was dead. Or worse...

"He's given up on us."
