It was five o'clock in the morning, but sleep was far from Ruby's eyes. The sunlight entering through the curtains began to illuminate the dark room.
She turned her head and looked at the person beside her. He had been sleeping like this all night with his back to her. Not once did Huzaifa try to approach her or address her. It was as if he was oblivious of her existence.
And it wasn't the first time. For the last several days he seemed to be ignoring her. His distinctive cheerful temperament was lost somewhere. Now and then he often seemed confused and drown in his thoughts. It's as if he was trying to solve a very difficult puzzle on which his life depended.
