Chapter 1 - Prologue

October 13, 2017

It was a crisp October day. The sun was shining and the leaves were falling. At the balcony of a beautiful country house stood a girl. She seemed to be in deep thought, her long light blonde hair flowing in the early autumn wind. She wore a white frilled button-up bardot top with belted blue and white striped pants. She glanced down at her watch and sighed. Time to go. She thought. She headed towards her bedroom mirror and applied a fresh coat of lip gloss.

"I am Astoria Anderson, eldest daughter of Julian and Emma Anderson. I am the heiress to Spellbound Couture. No one can get the better of me," Astoria spoke with confidence, the piercing blue eyes in the mirror staring into her soul. Her nude Jimmy Choo pumps resonated against the marble staircase of Anderson Villa as she made her way out. Today would be her first day at Blue Rivers Academy, a prestigious high school for the children of millionaires. In the driveway stood her father's white Porsche. He was already seated in the driver's seat. Julian was dressed in a classy black suit; his brown hair a slightly wet, curly mess atop his head.

"Ready, sweetheart?" Julian asked as she sat in the passenger seat. Astoria nodded.

"Ready as I'll ever be."
