Chapter 1 - Damian and Emily

"Morning, sleepy head," Emily said as she snuggled into Damian's arm. Damian yawned as he stretched his arms.

"Hey, babe," Damian said and gave her his half-smile, "Ready to go back to Crescent Hills?"

"Of course. I miss that place and I miss your house..."

"You mean our house?" Damian cut her off as he kissed her lips and neck. Emily chuckled as she kissed him back.

"Yes. Our house," she whispered in his ear and pressed her lips onto his. As their kiss became intense, Emily stopped him.

"Okay, time out. Time out," she pulled back and laid her head on Damian's chest and he caressed her hair.

"Damian, do you love me?" Emily asked softly.

"What kind of question is that? Of course I love you. I love you with all my heart," he answered and landed a quick kiss on her forehead.

"Then you would do anything for me?"

"Anything," Damian answered and smiled.

"Do you remember when I said I want to have kids?" Emily asked.

"Yeah?" Damian furrowed his eyebrows, not knowing where that conversation might go because he knew Emily was fully understood that vampires couldn't have kids.

"I was thinking... Since we can't have a kid... Can we adopt one?" Emily asked nonchalantly.

"What? No. Why would we do that? We are happy together and adopting a kid is going to ruin everything. I'm not going to let a kid ruining our relationship," Damian stated with a scowl.

"Am I sensing jealousy?" Emily smirked.

"Pfffthh.. No," Damian scoffed.

"Mm-hmm. Sure," Emily said, still smirking.

"I'm not jealous and we're done talking about this. Let's just go home," Damian said and got up from the bed. He put on his white t-shirt and his usual leather jacket.

-----

Emily got out from the car as soon as Damian pulled the car up in front of Osmond Mansion.

"We're home," Emily said.

Damian used his vampire speed and stood beside his lovely wife.

"We are," he said, holding her hand as he leading her into the house.

"It's like we were never left. The house is exactly the same as we left it," Emily commented as they walked inside the house.

"Exactly," he said and put his hands around her waist and pulled her closer. He kissed her gently, "You want something? I can make you pancakes… Or pancakes… or more pancakes."

Emily chuckled and kissed him back, "Pancake sounds good."

He smirked. "Pancake it is," he agreed. After taking his jacket off, he used his vampire speed to get the groceries bags from the car. They had made a little trip to the supermarket on the way home. When Damian dropped the bags on the kitchen counter, Emily had already sat down on one of the bar chairs. She watched her husband carefully as he took out eggs, flour, and all the ingredients to make pancakes from the bags.

"Damian," Emily started, "About what I said this morning about adopting a kid..."

"The answer is still no, Emily," he cut her off as he whisked the eggs.

"Oh, come on! You're going to be daddy Osmond," Emily said and let out a small laugh, "Do you really think a child could ruin our relationship? We've been together for what? Over 150 years. I will always love you, Damian, and you know that. My love for you will never change."

Damian looked up and gaze at his wife. He knew Emily had always wanted to have kids, but her wish was never going to be come true because he turned her into a vampire.

"Are you sure, Em? Having a kid is a huge responsibility," Damian said.

"I am ready, Damian. I want to have a kid. I want to be a mother and I want to raise that kid with you. We're going to be a happy, normal family," Emily smiled as she said that last part.

A smile grew on Damian's face. He could see happiness in Emily's eyes when she said that. "You realize we're far from being normal, right?" Damian commented as he mixed all the ingredients to make pancakes.

"But maybe when that kid becomes a part of our family, we are close to become a normal family. So what do you say?" Emily asked.

Damian shrugged his shoulders. "Alright, babe, if that's really what you want," Damian answered and flipped a pancake in the pan.

"Really?" Emily asked, a little bit taken aback at how fast Damian changed his mind.

"Yes, really. If that will make you happy, then why not?" Damian smiled at his wife.

Emily got up from her seat and approached him. She put her arms around his waist and hugged him from behind.

"Thank you," Emily whispered in his ear.

Damian turned his body around and found her grinning from ear to ear. He had never seen her this happy for so long and it warmed his heart to see her like that.

"You know I'd do whatever it takes to make you happy," Damian smiled.

-----

The next day, the rays of the sun penetrated through the window and Emily sat up on her bed. She turned her head around and didn't find her husband on the other side of the bed.

"Damian?" she called him.

In a split second, Damian was already in the bedroom carrying a tray full of foods, complete with two glasses of warm blood. He sets it on the bed in front of her.

"What's all these?" Emily asked, puzzled.

"Happy anniversary, Emily," he said and landed a chaste, gentle kiss on her lips, "You don't think I would forget, do you?"

Emily looked at him with awe and pulled him for another kiss. "Happy anniversary, Damian. I love you."

"I love you too."

Emily took a sip of warm blood from the mug as Damian lowered himself onto the side of the bed, next to her.

"I already called an orphanage, the one that's in the town and informed them we're going to visit them today. So, get ready to be a mother, Emily, cause it's happening today," Damian broke the news with a grin. Emily put her glass down and wrapped her hands around his neck.

"Thank you for making this come true, Damian," she whispered.

After breakfast in bed, they got ready and Emily couldn't hide her agitation and excitement.

"Which one of these that makes me look motherly? This one," she took a dark blue knee-length dress, "or this one?" she took black sleeveless sheath dress.

Damian smirked as he realized his wife was nervous. "It doesn't matter what you wear. You will always look beautiful and hot," Damian said and gave her a wink.

"Are you trying to seduce me, Damian Osmond? You know it's not going to work, right?"

"Mm-hmm," he winked again.

"Damian... Be serious for one second. I need this to be perfect. This is one of the most important days in our immortal lives."

"Em," he said and took both of her hands in his, "Don't be nervous. It's going to be alright. We're going to be parents. It's not something you should worry about. It's something you should be happy about."

Emily took a deep breath and nodded her head. "Yeah, you're right. It's going to be fine."

"Both dresses look great on you," Damian said.

Emily finally decided to wear the black sleeveless sheath dress with her black high heels. They got in the car and Damian drove to the orphanage.
