It was extremely late at night and Semone snuck out with his sister. They walked into the town and went to a shop to buy some candy. Their mother did not allow them to eat many sweets so they snuck out often to get some in secret. On their way back Sierra stopped.
"What is it, Sierra?" Semone asked.
"I heard something in that bush." She responded, pointing to a nearby bush.
"Ah, I'm sure it's nothing, maybe just a rabbit."
"A rabbit?! Oh! I want a cute rabbit to bring home!!" She exclaimed, running towards the bush.
"But mom would never l-"
"Hey, this isn't a rabbit, ohh but it sure is cute!!" Said Sierra as she lifted a kitten out of the bush.
The kitten was black with a white underside (stretching from its chin to its behind), with its tail's tip being white as well. It had light blue eyes, soft fur and a small white triangle on its head. The kitten purred in her arms as she patted and rubbed it.
"I wonder if it's a boy or a girl." She wondered aloud.
"Here left me see it!" Semone said, grabbing it.
He responded shortly after with, "It's a boy!"
"You didn't ask to hold him!"
"Neither did you." Semone laughed and ran.
Sierra gave chase, and they ran through the woods. They were laughing and running, enjoying the time. Suddenly, Sierra screamed. Semone turned around. Sierra was gone.
"Sierra! Where are you?!"
The kitten hopped out of his arms, approached a shadowy figure and growled. A boot hit the kitten in the face. And the cat screeched in pain. Semone drew his wooden sword, which he brought almost everywhere he could, and called out, "Who's there? Show yourself!"
"You are brave for a young boy." A creepy voice responded, as a hooded man stepped into the moonlight, holding Semone's motionless sister.
"Who are you! And what did you do to my sister!"
"Oh, she will be fine," he laughed, "Oh, and as for who I am? It won't matter once I'm finished with you!"
"I-I never back from a fight! Especially if someone I care for is being threatened!"
"Such a shame! Seems you'll have to die then." The man said and drew a dull basic steel sword.
He swung at Semone's head, but Semone blocked as he drew his wooden training sword, which he always had on him. The man opened his mouth to say something but Semone jabbed his wooden sword into the mans stomach, making him cry out in pain, dropping Sierra. Semone kicked him off balance and whacked the mans head with all his might then punched him in the stomach. The man was knocked unconscious, Semone picked up his sister and grabbed one of the man's legs and dragged him. He scooped up the cat and laid him on his shoulder then headed home. He laid Sierra in a bed and held the cat with one arm, then tied up the man tightly with rope and laid him behind the house. He awoke his mother and explained what happened. She told him to go to the nearby Knight Station (a place where knights prepare for their duties and take in reports and requests) to report what happened and turn in the attacker. He did, and two knights followed him home. They picked up the hooded man and brought him back to the station. Semone went to his sister's room and watched as his mother tended to her. There was a loud crash and Semone heard the window behind him shatter. He saw a figure but soon after he was knocked unconscious.
