Tsuruki rarely hesitated. This time was different, both answers would leave a devastating impact on both sides. Hojichi Industires would lose a talented elemental, or he goes against his own sister. It really was an easy decision from a readers point of view, but for Tsuruki; he has a lot to think about and consider when making his decision. Tsuruki comes up with a plan as he shifts his focus behind him.
Tsuruki thought to himself... "two of my men behind me, the rest are scattered about at communications. I can do it. There's nothing I need back at base, I've read the documents and know their plans. It should work out.
Kira: "Why are you wearing that uniform?"
Tsuruki: "Kira I know what it looks like, but I need you to cooperate for just a second."
Kira: "I've been searching for you for two years. Two whole years hoping they didn't kill you! What did they do to get you on their side?"
Tsuruki: "Kira please listen, I plan on leaving them. I'll join the resistance force"
I'm almost for sure that the two men behind me heard me. Now I probably have no choice but to take them out.
Kira thought to herself... "Is he... betraying them? Did he join to spy on them? Well I can't be sure until he makes a move. Even though he's a rumored tier 1, my speed should be enough to dodge an incoming attack in the case he does attack me."
Tsuruki threw the hostages and commander towards Kira and made a quick attack with lightning back at the two men. One was ready and managed to dodge just in time. The man then attacked with lunar beams. Lunar beams are quick but take time to charge up, therefore Tsuruki was able to make his next move before the lunar beams went off. Tsuruki used a technique where he was able to quickly expand fire from his body. Both men suffered severe burns and were forced to retreat and report back to communications. Tsuruki had to hurry, so he wasn't able to finish them off.
Kira was glad. More glad then she could ever be. She finally had her brother back, the only family member of hers to survive the massacre. Tsuruki grabbed Kira and ran off deep into, what is still technically UERF territory, and stopped behind a warehouse.
Kira: "W-What ar-"
Tsuruki: "I can't join the resistance force yet. I need to stay hidden for awhile until things cool down, then I'll come back."
Kira: "Wait why?! Wouldn't it be better to attack if they are in a chaotic state?"
Tsuruki: "It's... hard to explain. Just trust me, I won't be gone for long."
Kira: "But I just found you and... *sigh* okay, but you can't take long alright. Also, please don't die or get hurt."
Tsuruki: "You don't have to worry, I'll be fine. If I'm not back in a couple months, then I most likely would be captured. If I am captured, don't try to save me. Knowing them, they would use me as bait to capture all of you. I will find a way out myself."
Kira: "A-Alright, stay safe!"
Tsuruki: "Yep, you too. I'll be back"
Kira thought to herself... "As he left, I was afraid to lose him again. He may be stronger now, even stronger then most of our commanders, but he's still my brother. I noticed how much he changed as well. His eyes looked powerful. They had a dark red color with an altered iris, like a dragon's iris. He grew a little taller and had more muscle. His voice was also deeper. Maybe I was just seeing things, but it looked like he had two little bumps above his forehead. It was probably just his messy hair being wierd"
Kira returned back to the backup squadron and explained everything to the commander. Hojichi forces were forced to head back to base.
Tsuruki ran off out of Yuichiko city, and into a nearby town. It was a small town called Shinjiki. It had a large forest that engulfed the town borders, and some crop fields near the entrance of the town. Homes lined the side of the forest, perpendicular to the homes, was the town hall. It was the only government official building near Tsuruki. The sun was beggining to settle down into the horizon. Reminding Tsuruki of that blinding, golden glow of when he saw the sun rise on the bus rides to school.
Tsuruki began going through the documents information in his head. He wasn't sure whether or not to believe its contents, so he put them to the test. One of the pages mentioned potential. It stated that elementals have potential to become stronger, or to be able to wield another element.
Tsuruki: "This must be what they were testing. If this is true, than that explains why I can wield the lightning and dark elements. They told me that I was able to wield them from the start, but the feeling I had from when I could only wield the fire element was different than when I started wielding the lightning and dark elements."
Tsuruki decided to put this to the test. He understands that wielding an element is natural, like breathing and blinking. It's something programmed into one's body. He also understood that once you start wielding an element, you have to have a strong breathing technique to make it powerful. He started off with water. He understood the physics and properties of water, how it moved and how it felt. He focused for over two hours, but got nowhere. He tried to think back to when he first started wielding lighting. They had him fight a lot. He had to go up against others and try to wield elements he couldn't wield. Afterward, he was told to sit and breath a certain breathing form. He would always fall asleep doing so, but never got in trouble for it. He always woke up in bed without a punishment. When he asked about it, the researchers and scientists never gave him a solid answer. They often changed the subject as if they were hiding something, which is why Tsuruki snuck in and read the documents. He decided that he would continue the experiments tomorrow, and that he should rest up. Tomorrow was a big day, and he had lots to get done.
