"Hey Maerabelle, have you seen Nikita?" James Holt asked. James Holt is the most popular student at St. John's. His an all star quarterback, basketball, and baseball player. His also the student president. I met him at my cousin Nikita Jones' 18th birthday. Which is the total opposite of me. She has a long blond hair, and a fuck me blue eyes. Every guys at school wants to be her boyfriend. Which by the way, have a couple of them going at time! I don't know how she does it. Have more than one boyfriend, and for them not finding out. Yes my cousin is the biggest player (or slut as most girls call her) in school. Apparently, James is one of her victims. But knowing Nikita she's probably in one of the classroom somewhere with one of her other boyfriends.
"Sorry James, i haven't seen her since lunch." i said feeling bad.
"When you see her, could you please tell her I'm looking for her." He says walking back towards the gym.
Walking toward my science class. I hear laughing in the end of the hall. Out of curiosity, I look through the window to see my cousin with Andrew Collin, one of James' best friend. By the look of it Andrew is giving Nikita kisses behind her ears. I guess I know now where she been hiding this whole time.
"Hey Nik, James is looking for you." I called out to her. Hopefully they heard me, because I wasn't going to hang around to find out if they heard me or not. I couldn't care less, i have better things to do than making sure her boyfriends don't find catch her cheating on them.
"Mae wait up." Nikita called out, opening the classroom door.
"What's up?" I asked turning around.
"You didn't tell James where I was, did you?"
But before I could answer her question, James bet me to it.
"No Nik she didn't, but i kinda figure she's covering for you. So instead i just followed her. Knowing eventually she'll run into you." James answered walking towards us, just when Andrew comes out of the classroom. "I guess it's true what everyone is saying about you. You sleep around, not caring about another people's felling. We're over Nikita, I hope your happy with Andrew. His a great guy, so i hope you don't do what you just did to me. I'll see you around Maerabelle." He says walking away.
Not sticking around for Nikita to start blaming me for her mistake. I started to walk towards the science room once again. Needing to start on my biology project, that is due next week. Stopping on my tract when I open the door to my biology class. Sitting there with his head down on the table is James.
"Um... how did you get here so quick? i just saw you walking the opposite of the school." I asked feeling confuse.
"Oh... hey Maerabelle, I forgot my backpack." He replied turning his head towards me.
"Okay, but how did you get here so quick?"
"I went through the window." He points to an open window by the back.
"Oh, I see." I reply, taking a sit by the door. opening my backpack to start on my project.
"Mae... I-I'm sorry... for throwing you under the bus with your cousin."
Not expecting him to apologize. I didn't know what to say. "It's fine, if anything I should be the one apologizing for lying."
"You don't need to apologize, I already knew all along that she was cheating on me. I just didn't want to believe it. I'm just pissed that she's doing it with Andrew of all people.With all the guys falling to her feet, she has to pick him. His my best friend... I guess it just hurts. Sorry i don't mean to dump all this shit on you." He says, putting his head back down.
Not knowing what to say, I just went back to gathering my things out of my backpack to start on my project. Is not like I'm ignoring him, I just don't really know what to say. Usually Nikita is around whenever his around, so I just don't really have much to say to him except hello and goodbye.
"James... um... never mind sorry." I said going back to what I'm doing.
"What's up? Am I distracting you for being here?" He asked, getting out of his chair.
"No, is not that, I was just going to ask you... why did you put up with her bullshit? If your knew that she was cheating on you?" I asked. "Sorry... I don't mean to be noisy... you don't have to answer that."
"Oh, I... I guess I thought what everyone is saying about her is just a bunch of rumors. That's why I didn't pay much attention, beside I thought she loved me like she always say." he whispers.
I don't know why I asked him that. Is not like I could change the way Nikita is. Beside as much as I love my cousin, she is just selfish. She usually doesn't think about other people's feeling is she can't get anything out of it. When she does, she usually just take it and not care about anything else afterwards.
