"is that it?" nic thought as he looked at the stone in his hand, it seemed that he was not able to merge with it like the sword, but was able to absorb the weird spark that was inside.
he could only wait and see what happens when the spark is fully absorbed by his gift.
nic dropped the stone as it did not have any other use, even the sword stopped vibrated, this shows that it did not have no interest in it either, it was nothing of use now he thought.
during the time it took him to move the spark to his gift his body have already recovered, sometimes he wondered if he had a regenerative gift of something of sorts, this type of super healing was just unheard of as his body did not even bare scars.
he then pulled the sword out of the dirt, it was not vibrating even a bit it seemed that the thing that it really wanted was the spark that was in the stone.
nic then looked deeper into the cave and held his sword with a form grip he was unsure if their were more monsters inside and was trying to be cautious.
"I wonder what you were guarding" nic thought as he looks at a pile of ash, their was nothing left of the toad and snake only ash can be seen where they once were.
nic then began to go deeper in the cave, he was just to curious as to what type of treasure two monsters would resk thier lives and freedom to protect, it most be something grand he thought the excitement was getting to his head as he started to move faster.
what really confirmed that the two monsters was guarding something was the fact that the snake did not leave even after seeing the toad being burned to death, it did not try to escape, nic felt as though the snake was just dumb as he would have run, but it seemed as though it wanted to die here.
the deeper nic went the darker it became, after awhile their was nothing but pitch black and the echoes as his wings beat against the air.
after awhile, he came to that of a dead end, he did not see anything although his eyes were more adapt to darkness than any others, he lived under the bridge outside of the kingdoms gate, only light he had was the night sky.
"their is nothing here" nic mumbled as he looked around hoping to see even a little bit of gold at this point, although he dont find pleasure in wealth, it would atleast calm him to think that the monsters were not just dumb creatures that lived here, where it was hard for them to even hunt.
he looked all over but nothing was out of the ordinary.
"guess they were just dumb afterall" nic thought as he stopped hovering and sat on the cold ground.
but as nic was about to sit his hand seemed to have touched something wet on the cave floor.
he looked and found that water seemed to be flowing on the cave floor, he thought that it was nothing more than a spring.
he was feeling kind of thirsty so he got up and went to drink the water, but when he drank he spat it out in an instant.
"that taste like shit" he said as he spat out saliva.
"that's not water" nic thought as he looked at the liquid pouring out of the cave wall.
he then slightly punched into the cave wall and found that it was soft as cracks started to appear on the wall and more liquid came out the cracks in the wall as it spread.
to his surprise the wall crumbled and before he could escape he was enveloped by white sticky things that flood into the cave.
"eggs?" he thought as he was covered in an avalanche of eggs and sticky liquid.
after awhile the thousands of eggs the size of basketballs came to a stop as they flooded the cave floor.
nic gasp for breath as he raised himself out of the eggs, he began to look around and found that these were toad eggs, he lived next to a river almost all his life so he known what they looked like.
"wait so that means I dranked..." nic was mad as he figured out what the liquid was, it was nothing other than toad sperm.
after swimming out of the toad eggs, he was about to leave to go to the waterfall to wash off immediately, it was to embarrassing he wanted to erase the evidence immediately.
but as he was about to leave he kicked an egg in his path, an idea came to him, it was an idea he always wanted to try the day his mother left him with the sword.
it appeared in his head once more as he seen the egg he kicked break on the cave wall.
with out a thought he cut a egg in half with phyora, he then looked at the sword as a small tread of smoke can be seen coming from the sword.
although it was not much it proved his theory that even an egg can be sacrificed, but it seemed because of their undeveloped soul that it did not amount to much.
this still placed a smile on nic face "this would come in handy" he thought
then the curiosity that was covered in rage of eating toad sperm light back up in his mind.
"so this is what it was protecting, but why was the snake protecting it to" their was some questions that he needed answers for, the only way to get these answers was to go into the area behind the wall he thought.
"but first I need to wash off" nic thought as he turned and head towards the exit, he was a man of hygiene, and this was nothing but nasty to him.
it seemed even though he killed the toad it had the last laugh,as nic thought of this he was upset.
