It's 10:50 and I'm dashing up the stairs of the building that I work in. I have every thing that I need. I got the doughnuts and a little something for Sofia. I mean what else was I supposed to do when she helped me out like that. I walk up the steps, and who should I see but Sofia waiting for me. As I jog up the steps, I nudge Sofia. "Aww look who waited for me to show up to work." I say playfully. Sofia's face twists into a frown. "The only reason I waited for you was because Chief Marcello wants his doughnuts pronto." Sofia grabs the box of doughnuts and runs into the building. I stand and think back to the day that I first met Sofia.
It was when I was already in the CIA for 6 years. My boss Chief Marcello (still my boss) was trying to find a partner for me after an incident that had occurred (more on that later). Then one day my boss decided to try out an experiment, how would someone who's been in the CIA for years work with someone new to the program. So my boss decided to give me a new recruit as a partner. And surprisingly it worked, as much as I hate to admit it. I mean, yeah we've had our ups and downs but overall it's been a very "learning" experience. I mean I don't know how I survived 7 years with someone as demanding and uptight as Sofia.
At times it seems to me that Sofia is trying to outdo me at everything. She acts like she is my boss. Sometimes I just can't take it and think about resigning from my job. But I wouldn't be able to find another job that I love so much. This job is so worth dealing with Sofia.
When I get inside Chief Marcello is waiting for me. "YOU'RE LATE!" Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, his voice is loud. He only gets loud when he's angry and about to throw something. So I decide to tell him the truth as to why I am late. "Well I woke up..." "Thanks for the doughnuts." He interrupts me without hearing my explanation. "There's a mandatory meeting for all senior field agents in ten minutes."
Well that's my life people tend to forget why they're angry at me, and my life goes on.
