Chapter 3 - Beeeaaaaar!!

Man POV

*CRASH*

My parents have only been arguing for fifteen minutes. If the other arguments are any indication, it was pretty early for them to start throwing plates.

This one was bad and mother has no problem blaming me.

My mother says that it is my fault that father doesn't love her and that she should have had a girl.

She's been saying it since I was a boy so I'm used to it. She never hits me so I guess I got it better than some children in the kingdom but she does enjoy verbal abuse.

If she's breaking plates now then my father should be walking out to seek "comfort" from his mistress soon.

After that my mother would usually vent the rest of her rage. I'm not really in the mood to ignore her yelling and see her throw my books so I think I'll leave.

If I leave my mother will yell at a maid but it's better them then me.

I'm joking, of course, I wouldn't wish that upon anyone especially the nice maids but I know they will stuff cloth in their ears and nod, as if they were listening to her.

~~~
I packed a bag with water, bread, a book of course, and a few other minor essentials
Booom
My father left. In three seconds by mother will scream.
"AAAAAGGGGGGHHHHH!!"
Three more seconds and she will come looking for me and accuse me of being illegitimate.
"Where is that book reading brat that thinks he has the right to be called a lord's son?"
Wait for it...
"If I didn't go through all of those months and hours to have disgrace pulled out of me I'd think that you're the son of your father's WHORE!!"
And there's my queue to leave.
~~~

I was sitting under the tree reading a book about plants and there uses when—

"ROOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAR"

And I instantly stilled.

A bear?

A bear is here.

A BEAR is here!

Before I could think the word vaulted out of my mouth, "Beeeaaaaar!!"

I quickly cover my mouth with my hand. And try to calm down. I'm really starting to wish I brought that book about defending against monsters, animals, and other creatures. And I forgot to bring a sword or dagger. I feel the need to slap myself.

I stand up slowly and turn around, Instantly making eye contact with the bear. It takes a step forward and I step back, frightened. It takes another step, and so do I.

Step forward.

Step back.

Step forward.

Step back.

Step forward.

Step back.

We continue this pattern until the bear stands up and it's hind legs, "RRROOOOARRR" I stumble back and before I know it, I lose my footing and then everything is black.
