Chapter 1 - A Lazy Nara

A teenager with spiky hair tied up in a ponytail stifled a yawn as he stared boredly at the teacher who was teaching at the front of the class. He has always drowned her out since she talked fast enough to give him a seizure. He never really like school the way most kids did. You know the usual of getting a date with someone you like or joining a club never really garnered his attention. He much rather sit at home and nap or lay on the hammock in his backyard as he watched the clouds drift by slowly.

Suddenly, he was daydreaming about him watching the clouds. He wished his mom wasn't such a nag that what make sure he got up before she went to work. He suppressed a groan as he thought about her but luckily the bell rung, signaling the end of the class period.

The Nara boredly watched as his classmates scampered to their feet's and rushed out the door like a couple of wild ants. He had always just let everyone go before him since he didn't want to get pushed around and because he didn't feel like pushing anyone around when there was a simpler option. He laid his head between his arms as he let everyone leave, almost falling asleep in the process.

"It's safe now, Shikamaru. You should go and eat something." His teacher lightly teased as she nudged him away from falling asleep right there. She had always been nice to the lazy Nara ever since he got in her class. She was like his second mother in the way she acted. Even though she talked a lot she always let him sleep in her classroom during lunch when he didn't feel like eating. But sometimes she made him get up simply because it was unhealthy to not eat just because you didn't feel like it. She even let him eat in her room with her.

Shikamaru sighed as he lazily picked his head up to look at her teasing smile. "Can I stay? I don't really feel like getting up today." He answered in a slow drawled speech.

She gave him a look. "Again Shikamaru. You're a growing boy; you have to eat something. It isn't healthy to skip out on a meal at your age."

Shikamaru gave her a flat look. "Does it really matter. I'm not dying or anything."

She responded by picking up his skinny arm, feeling on the bone that could be easily seen. He wasn't skinny to where it was a serious problem but he was uncharacteristically skinny for his age.

"You're, by far, the skinniest teenager I've ever seen." She told him. "And the laziest." She added causing him to groan. "I've seen my father do more in a day than you do in a week. Now get up and go eat."

Shikamaru sighed but complied nonetheless. He got up from his seat slowly and gathered his things before dragging himself to the door.

"Bye Shikamaru!" His teacher yelled quite lowly just as he was at the the door.

"Later Kurenai-sensei." With that, the Nara slowly walked through the halls, aiming to get to his locker to change out his stuff for the period after lunch.

Lunch time was the period he hated more than his others. It was insanely loud with so many people talking at once. He could never find a table where could at least be by himself. Unfortunately, he could never find a table where he was truly alone. There was always someone who irritated him when their loud voices, regardless if they were at the same table or not.

The only period he hated more was gym since he actually had to do stuff and exercise. He could never get out of it because his teacher would make sure everyone was present and if someone wasn't then he would call home. His mother was already troublesome enough; giving her something more to nag him over was something he would rather avoid.

He yawned loudly as he put in the combination in his locker and opened it, grabbing his gym clothes. His irritated expression sounded as he glared at the gym clothes.

"Guess I'll go and get something to eat. Kurenai-sensei will know if I am eating or not." He made his way to the cafeteria.

Couple of Hours Later

The Nara sighed as he had yet another unremarkable day. The sigh wasn't of boredom or anything like that. It was more of content since that was exactly what he was aiming for. All he wanted was an unremarkable life and an unremarkable death. He was cool with not being remembered and relished that everyone at school seemed to not even know he was there. Though he was kinda recognized by one of the guys who didn't perv over girls and never showed any no type of special attention. He pretty much gave everyone a bored stare or an irritated one.

His walk home had been pretty nice since the sun caused many clouds to cover the sky. He knew today would be perfect to nap on the hammock and watch the clouds slowly drift by. He walked into his house, hoping that his mother was still at work so he could at least have an after school nap before she pestered him about washing dishes and eating properly. The Nara opened the door to his boring room, flopped straight on his soft bed that he begged him mom to buy, and went to sleep before he knew it.
