He said this:
It's deplorable how double standards are applied. I had a teacher in my freshman year of high school who said that she would have every person (including her) stare at me if I questioned her authority after. All the boys in class stared at me and talked about it for days, even one going far as to tell people to stare at me. In that same year, I said something very similar to a girl of the same age at the time about staring at her, and (primarily due to the slurring tongue twister that I always have had) I was in big trouble and almost threatened with jail, and even almost got a 1:1 aide. This is the truth of double standards when you are a child and don't know better. When I was a young teen boy, yes, I had dreams and thoughts about older women and women that look like her, and older women are the type of people I would, and still do, adore, but I knew as an underage person of the time that I could not legally and naturally consent to a romantic relationship with an adult. All aside, she could have gotten a grown adult on a college campus (especially in Pennsylvania and most notably at Penn State, where she could have scored a nice, handsome, good-looking young adult male), but instead, she chose a child, and not only that is not okay, it's wrong and illegal (and no matter what the age of consent is - being 16 in PA and 17 in NY, my state, it's still wrong). These stories are why schools are dangerous places, not places of learning, and today, schools ruin children for the rest of their lives, and I say that as an Upstate New Yorker who has seen public schools and special education (from seclusion rooms to fights and angry teachers) for what it really is. Stories like this make me proud to advocate for homeschooling, unschooling, John Taylor Gatto, abolishment of forced school attendance laws, and anything that allows children to be children without being in a situation filled with abuse by adults and reprehensible behavior by children. With all this said, shame on this teacher. May she get jail time for her actions?
