Mito's POV:
"It's time to finish our little chat." I said to the short snowy boy. I still didn't trust him. He may not have hurt Gon yet... heck! He might not hurt Gon at all. Then why can't I shake this feeling?
"Sorry, I have to go do something real quick. I'll be back in a few. We can talk then." He said. I tried to yell out to him and grab his wrist, but he was gone faster than you could say pop tarts. I stood there shocked for a few seconds before becoming angry. I can't believe he has the nerve... I was to angry to even finish the thought. I sat at the table and started grumbling to myself. Ragged, unfinished thoughts surged through my mind at a pace so fast even I couldn't keep up with them.
I opened up my phone to look at Wattpad and looked up the second book to 'Freak Like Me', I was still heartbroken by the ending, I had to read more! I really couldn't help it, I started reading the second story, and eventually I got to the second chapter. Then the third, fourth, fifth...
Killua's POV:
I went back to their house, dreading the conversation that was about to occur. Slowly and carefully, I opened the door, not to wake Gon up. As I learned earlier, you could feel and hear everything that went on in this house. I went and sat down on the chair across from Mito. She didn't seem to notice me here, she was too enthralled in whatever she was looking at. I studied her face, one second she was crying, and then the next she was laughing like a maniac. Weird. I just stared at her, wanting to stall this conversation for as long as possible.
Leaning back on the chair and closed my eyes, thinking of the delicacy that had been introduced to me today. That beautiful wonderful taste, I could still taste hints of it in my mouth. The chocolate robots. Suddenly Mito jumped up and started celebrating. I just looked at her like she was insane. She probably is if I'm being honest. "Komahina forever!" She whisper yelled throwing her arms in the air. She calmed down a bit and then finally noticed me. "W-when did you get here?" She looked down extremely embarrassed.
"A few minutes ago." Her face turned red from embarrassment. I stood up and put my hands in my pockets, my face remaining neutral throughout the whole exchange. "Come on, let's go somewhere else. I don't want to wake Gon up." She eyed me over suspiciously, then she cautiously stepped next to me. "Don't worry... I don't bite." I had to snicker at the joke, but Mito just stared at me preparing to guard herself if need be.
I started walking out of the house, I could feel her slowly following. I smirked, humans are so lame! Walking down the hill and into the deserted town I went and sat on a bench. And when Mito got there, she sat as far away as humanly possible while still remaining in the bench. "So Mito... what is it you want to know?"
Third Person POV:
Mito looked down and sighed trying to calm her racing heart, "what's your real name? Are you really Killua?" The question came out of nowhere startling the white boy. But can you blame him? He hadn't prepared for that question.
He looked her in the eyes so she knew that he wasn't lying. "Yeah, my name is Killua Zoldyck."
"W-wait, Zoldyck? As in the family of elite assassins?"
"That's the one." He said it like it was a burden to be apart of it which Mito didn't understand.
"Why did you come here? And what do you want with my son?"
"I came here because it was far away from my household." Killua said.
"And what about Gon? What do you want with him?"
Killua thought about it for a moment, looking up at the stars. "I guess," he paused and looked back at Mito. "I just wanna be his friend." He shrugged.
"Liar!" Mito yelled, she clearly didn't believe him.
"Just because I was an assassin, doesn't mean I wish Gon any harm you know."
"Then what about the missing people? Were you the one that's causing that?"
"Yes, woah you caught the murderer." He said with sarcastic enthusiasm dripping from his voice.
She stared at him with wide eyes. She stood up and started to back away from Killua. Then she started running as fast as she could. Killua remembered passing this part of town with Gon earlier that day. She was going to the police station. He sighed ran up to her and pulled her into an alley covering her mouth. Mito was sweating, fearing for her life. She was being held captive by a 16 year old serial killer. And not only that, but Gon had been hanging around him all day.
Killua hushed at her and flipped her around so she was facing him. "Do you promise to stay there and be quiet if I let you go?" She hesitated thinking it over and then quickly nodded her head. Killua stepped back releasing the scared woman. He sighed as he looked up at her. Tears were falling down her face as she watched Killua's every move. "Sit down. I'm not gonna hurt you as long as you don't tell anyone who I am." Mito was shaking as she carefully lowered herself onto the cold cement of the alley.
"W-Wh- why?"
"Hm? Why am I killing people?" Killua looked at the sobbing woman in front of him. She nodded. "For food." He replied simply.
She gasped, he was eating them?! "You're a cannibal?!" What if Killua hurt Gon and she just didn't see it when she was looking him over.
He sighed, of course she would come to that conclusion. "No, I'm not a cannibal."
"T-then you aren't human..." she had a crazed look in her eyes.
"Nope."
"I-if yo-your not human, what a-are you?"
"A vampire." He answered bluntly.
Mito's POV:
This can't be happening! Gon didn't only befriend a serial killer... but a vampire too?! Did I check Gon's neck earlier? No, I don't think I did. What if he bit him?! I looked at the albino boy in front of me. I was scared, my heart felt like it was going to beat itself out of my chest at any moment, but that didn't stop the anger that was coursing through my veins at a hundred miles per hour. "W-what did you do to him?" I choked out through the tears. Tears of anger. Tears of worry. And tears of sadness. They could all be expressed through these tears. She could feel her head pounding like it was about to explode.
"Nothing." Killua replied non-chalantly.
"Huh?" Mito looked into Killua's eyes searching for the lie, but she found none. She had almost missed the reply with everything that was going on inside her head.
"I said that I haven't done anything to him. And because I know you're wondering, I'm not going to do anything to him either. Well, unless he wants me to that is."
"What do you m-mean?"
"Exactly what it sounds like. Unless he wants me to, I won't bite him." He rolled his eyes.
"Listen. I-I want you to stay away from my son. Do you understand me?" He remained quiet and looked down. "I know it'll hurt him now, but he'll get over it eventually. I- I just can't let him be in constant danger and when he gets hurt I'll know it's my fault that he is. I can't l-let him get close to you, even if it means he will hate me. Because I can't let someone else use him and hurt him."
Then he spoke up, "someone else?" I could practically hear the rage in his voice, even though I could tell that he was trying to keep the whole monotone thing going.
"All his current friends, they use him. But he doesn't realize it and I don't have the heart to tell him. They use him to help them with things that push him down on the social pyramid while they rise up. A-and his father, my brother, he abandoned Gon right after he was born." Why? Why am I telling him all of this? What good will it do? Suddenly I heard a huge. I looked up to see a giant hole in the wall, and Killua was gone. Where did he go? I checked behind me because I'm not one of those dumb white bitches in horror movies.
I then ran home as fast as I could. I was exhausted from crying so much and my legs ached from the running. But I kept going, I knew that Killua would probably be able to catch me if he was trying to, but that didn't mean that I wasn't going to run.
When I finally got to the house, I saw a note on the door.
A/N: Sorry if you can't read it.
(Mito, sorry for running out on you like that. I didn't finish telling you what needed to be said, so I wrote it on here. First of all, I know you don't want me to, but I'm still going to hangout with Gon. I dont know how to make it any clearer to you than I already have, but, all I really need is to be his friend. Yes, I want his blood. And yes, I may or may not want to be more than just friends. But I am not hanging out with him for those things. I will not bite him unless he himself asks me to, you need to understand that. Second, earlier you asked me why I kill people. Yes, I do kill them for their blood, and I'm not gonna apologize for it. I have to kill them because I can't risk them finding out who I am. Biting someone will not harm them in any way other than possible dizziness. The only way to die from a vampire bite is if the vampire takes too much and drains them, just in case you're wondering. Also, remember that the only reason you are alive right now is because Gon cares for you. So don't you dare hurt him, or I will kill you without hesitation. Finally, don't tell anyone about me. And I mean anyone. Especially not Gon. If he found out, he'll probably hate me. I'll probably tell him eventually, but I'm just not ready for that yet. Killua)
Honestly I don't know what to feel now. Do I let him, a vampire, befriend my son? Or do I keep him away? How would I do that? He could probably break through any wall I build easily. I walked into the house, I was too tired to make a decision now, I was going to bed.
Before I knew it, the lights were shining bright through the pale, thin curtains on the wall. Did I even fall asleep? I got out of bed, did all my morning stuff, before going down to eat breakfast.
When I got down there I nearly had a heart attack. There standing in the kitchen making french toast, was a small white haired boy. He was wearing the clothes Gon described he was wearing two days ago. Though I couldn't see the whole thing because of the frilly pink apron he had on over it. If he wasn't a vampire who could kill me at any moment, I probably would have started teasing him for it. But unfortunately, he was a vampire who could literally end my life whenever he wanted to. I fell backwards. I braced myself for them impact of the floor but it never came. In fact, it felt like I was just floating. I slowly opened my eyes to see glowing blue ones right right above me. I half screamed again and fell out of his hands. He sighed impatiently, "be quiet. You're gonna wake Gon up."
I stared at him fearfully. "Just so you know... you can't stop me from hanging out with Gon. Whether you like it or not, he called me his friend."
"I-in your note you mentioned not to tell Gon about any of this. So that means he doesn't know what you are right?"
"That is correct."
"You say you want him to be your friend, but, friends don't lie to each other. I know Gon has been nothing but honest to you."
"Just because I didn't tell him the whole truth, doesn't mean I lied to him. I never said that I was human and he never asked if I killed those people."
"Two weeks,"
"Hm?"
"You have to weeks to tell him."
"Look I already told you-"
"No, you have 2 weeks or I swear to god! You will stay away from Gon."
He huffed, "fine, I'll tell him, but can I have just till the end of the month to do so?"
"What is it you want from him that requires you not to tell Gon for the month?"
"Nothing."
"Then why do you want the whole month?"
"Why? So I can have a friend for at least a month. Also it would be better to tell him on Halloween... don't you think?"
I sighed, "very well. You have till the end of the month to tell him. And when you do, don't you dare threaten him into continuing to be your friend."
"I didn't threaten you to like me, did I?" He rolled his eyes. I huffed, maybe not, but that doesn't mean that you won't threaten him. Hopefully Gon will stay away from Killua after he finds out. But knowing him... yeah that's not gonna happen.
Then we heard footsteps coming down the hallway. Killua ran back to the stove to check on the breakfast and I looked up towards the stairs waiting for Gon to come into sight.
Gon's POV:
When I got to the stairs I saw Aunt Mito looking up at me, she probably heard me coming, and behind her by the stove was, "Killua!"
"Hey Gon." He smiled back at me and waved his hand.
"Whatchu making?" I skipped over to stand next to him.
"French Toast." I did a little celebratory dance before jumping on the amused white boy (I'm not gonna call Killua a vampire while in anyone's POV who doesn't know what he is. I don't know, it just makes more sense to me this way).
Suddenly I had a brilliant idea. "Ne Killua?"
"Hm?"
"Wanna go to the ice cream shop again?"
"And do what?"
"Uh..." shit. hadn't gotten that far yet.
Killua smiled at my one track mind. "Sure, but this time we should buy something there instead of just taking up the seats." I smiled and nodded excitedly. After that an awkward silence settled upon the room.
I looked to Aunt Mito. She was staring at her phone intently. "What you doing on your phone?" I asked.
She immediately blushed and looked up at me, "n-nothing. Just reading a book." She seemed flustered.
"What kind of book?"
"A good one..."
"Can I see it?"
"No!" She practically yelled, "I-I mean... maybe some other time." Then she turned off her phone and sat down at the table with her hand covering her phone. Both me and Killua stared at her surprised at her tone of voice. I had never heard her speak in that tone, and since I'm around her a lot, it really shocked me to the core. I then sat down across from her and waited for Killua to come over.
A few minutes later all three of us had started a conversation about chocolate robots. Killua's eyes were bright as he walked over with a container of french toast. I, of course, immediately dug in, earning a playful glare from Mito. Killua said that he had already eaten breakfast, and Mito just looked suspiciously at the french toast. When Killua noticed the look she was giving the poor food he rolled his eyes. "You better get some now before Gon takes it all." He said. I laughed and took another piece.
"These are really good Killua!"
"Really?" He looked kind of surprised to hear that. "That's good, I've never made them before so I was a little worried." This was his first try?! How'd he cook them so well? These are even better than Aunt Mito's french toast.
"Aunt Mito, you gotta try one!"
"Okay, fine." She sighed and cautiously picked a piece up. "You sure these aren't poisoned?"
"Maybe." Killua smiled mischeviously. I just stared at the two, what the hell happened to make Aunt Mito dislike Killua so much? "Geez, I'm just kidding. It's just regular french toast."
She poured a little syrup on the toast and took an insanely small bite of it. Her eyes were practically glowing as she scarfed down the rest of it. Killua smirked at her change in attitude towards the breakfast food. After only about 5 minutes Aunt Mito and I finished the entire container. We sat and talked for a bit before Aunt Mito got up to go to the bathroom. She gave Killua a warning glare before leaving the room. Why? I have no idea.
Killua and I were talking for a bit when I noticed that there was something on the table. I stared at it, and apparently Killua noticed my diverted attention. He followed my gaze to see the same thing I was. "She left her phone." He said. Then he started snickering evilly. "Hey Gon... I dare you to look at whatever was making Mito so flustered when we asked about what she was looking at."
"She said it was a book."
"Was it really though?"
That caught My attention and I picked up the pinkish orange phone. I opened it up and entered in the passcode. Then I stared at the page blankly for awhile. Killua looked at me expectantly. "Ne Killua?" He made eye contact and nodded showing that he was paying attention. "What's a lemon?"
