** I don't know if I should make Mito a protagonist or an antagonist... I don't know. Let's just see where my typing of random sentences leads me. Enjoy!

Third Person's POV:
That morning Gon woke up excited for the day ahead. Today he gets to hangout with Killua again! He was about to literally jump for joy when he remembered that everyone else was still asleep and the thud would be wake them up. Gon still had 5 hours before it was time to leave for the ice cream shop and he couldn't wait. These next 5 hours were gonna be torture for him.
He got ready, doing all the usual stuff, brush his teeth, try and fail to brush his hair, wash his face, and put on his usual green sweater. Then he raced down the stairs for breakfast. Gon climbed up on the counter (#shortpeopleproblems) and grabbed a piece of toast and shoved it in his mouth before running out the door to hang out by the river in the forest by his house.
The river was Gon's favorite places to visit in his spare time. He loved to spend his day there, whether he was fishing or relaxing or working out, he loved to do anything he could there. He loved the fresh air, and the wavy distorted reflections of the tree in the water.
Gon made his way down the path towards the lake. It was about a mile and a half away from his house. He caught sight of the flowing water in the distance and sprinted as fast as he could over to it.
By the time he got there he was slightly out of breath, but was still filled with energy. He ran back down the path a bit and decided that now was a better time then any. He turned back around and dashed straight for the river. His eyes were trained on the water as he reached the land's end and jumped off the edge. He could feel himself flying through the air and then felt the rush as he started to fall. Gon held his breath as he plummeted into the freezing water. It was colder than he expected. He started shivering while trying to keep on top of the water.
Eventually he made it out of the water, still shivering. (He probably shouldn't have gone swimming in October) he stood up and stretched but noticed something strange. He felt like something was off with the environment. He couldn't put a finger on it. He sat there warily staring at his surroundings until he figured out what it was...
His green jacket! Even after jumping into the river was still dry! Every other part of him was pretty wet though. In fact, he could probably water an entire garden with just the water dripping from his clothes. Gon then took out his fishing rod.
Today was the day, he knew it. Today he would catch it. The legendary fish from ancient times. It's said that the person who catches this fish will be granted 1 wish. It didn't matter what the wish was either. You could wish for unlimited money or super powers or to find your soulmate. The only thing that wasn't allowed was wishing for more wishes. Gon had always wanted to catch this fish. Even though he didn't have anything that he wished for at the moment, it would be so cool if he could catch a fish that nobody's caught for 200 years. All his friends would acknowledge him more if he caught it. They said so themselves.
Gon sat there for the next 2 hours trying to catch the fish. He tried different baits and lures, he tried fishing in different spots, heck he even tried fishing from a tree! But, no luck. Gon knew he should probably head back soon, so he packed up his things and started on his way into town.
Once he made it there he still had an hour before he was supposed to meet Killua at the ice cream shop. He decided that he would go shopping for chocolate robots as a kind of gift to start off their friendship. People who don't like chocolate robots are insane! Gon bought 3 robots. 1 for each of them at the shop and one for Killua to bring home. Gon didn't know anything about his family so he only got one for Killua.

45 minutes later:
Killua's POV:
Why am I even here? I sighed. I don't know why, I just wanted to see Gon again... maybe it's cause his blood smells so good... I don't know. He probably forgot about meeting me here anyways, he did seem like an airhead. Or maybe he just decided not to come, I mean he's already 15 minutes late. I should just go. It's not like this is important to me or anything.
I started to get up out of my seat when I heard the bell hanging on top of the shop's door ring. Suddenly I heard someone behind me say, "hi Killua! Sorry I'm late... I got a little sidetracked." He laughed nervously. I looked up to see the boy from yesterday looking straight at me.
"It's okay." I said sitting back down. He actually came?!
"I bought us something to eat at the candy store!"
I looked at him, I was sure confusion was written plainly on my face. "Why? We're at an ice cream shop."
"We had ice cream yesterday!" He said a little too excitedly, "so I got us something else to eat!"
"Won't they be mad that we're eating food from another store?"
"Uh— hehe." The green haired boy looked back at the counter to see the staff members glaring at him. "Maybe we should go somewhere else instead."
"Sure." I shrugged and followed him out of the shop.

Back at Gon's house (this is a few hours back):
Mito's POV
I got out of my bed to hear that the house was strangely quiet. What is that boy doing? I wondered. I lazily got ready for the day and walked downstairs. Huh, he's not here. He must've gone to the forest. Hopefully he'll come back before he goes to see that boy. I still wanna go with him, just to be sure. I looked at the clock, there was still 4 more hours before he went back to the store, he's bound to be back before then. I decided to start reading a book while I waited for Gon to return. I don't wanna start cleaning because it would be troublesome to have to pause my declutteration before it was done. It looked like it would take 5-6 hours for a medium slow reader like me to finish. But I read it anyways.
I kept reading the book, it was just so amazing! I swear I was crying at the end! At first I was a little hesitant to buy it, but I'm glad that I did. It was about this human boy named Hajime Hinata and a vampire boy Nagito Komaeda. I seriously could not stop reading it. (This book she is reading is based off an actual book I read here on Wattpad. It's called 'Freak Like Me' by @HoneyBuddah_707. It is seriously amazing, check it out) I didn't realize how much time had passed and soon finished the book. It was so sad! I need the sequel ('Hajime Is Still Sad') and ice cream immediately. Wait. Ice cream... Gon! He should be back by now! Did he just go straight into town instead of coming back here?! Shit!
I sat up faster than Rock Lee can run with his waits off and ran to the door. If that Killua boy did anything to him... I swear I'm gonna kill him! Even if I die myself. I can only hope that Gon will be ok before I get there. Everything around me seems blurred, the only thing I can feel is rage and determination. I've got to get there faster!
I was so caught up in going faster that I almost completely missed the store. I looked inside to see where Gon and his new 'friend' is, but I can't see them anywhere. Where the hell are they?! And what did that boy do to my son?! I continue running scanning all the possible places they could be. But they're not there. In fact, they weren't anywhere. Where are you Gon? I keep running and running, I don't know how though, my stamina is terrible //There's no way it's worse than mine! So don't worry Mito, you're not alone!//. Huh?! Who the hell just said that?! I turned around looking everywhere, but it was pointless, there were too many people around me to locate where that one came from. Maybe it was just my imagination. Am I going insane? It's no use pondering over, I just need to go find Gon before it's too late... unless... no I still have some time! What am I even thinking right now? I don't even know if the boy is who I think he is. Maybe he's actually genuine. Yeah, you're just overreacting.
"Aunt Mito?" A voice said behind me.

(Back to when Gon and Killua left the shop)
Gon's POV:
"So where do you want to go?" I asked Killua.
"I'm new in town, I don't know what there is to do here. You pick."
"Okay then..." I thought for a moment. "What about the arcade?"
"Sure." The albino boy replied. I led him across the road and into the arcade. He looked around but didn't make any move to play a game. So I decided to lead him to the ski ball game.
"Come on Killua! Let's see who can get more tickets in an hour! And then we can spend them on food and go to the movies!"
"Okay." He replied with a fiery look in his eyes. "But I have to warn you, you're going to lose."
"No way! I've been playing this game since I was 4! I'm going to win!"
"Keep it down over there!" One of the employees yelled at us.
I laughed nervously, "s-sorry. We'll be quieter." I looked at Killua just as he threw up his first ball. It landed in the hundred. Not that he was expecting it not to. "Hey no fair, you started without me!" I yelled as quietly as possible.
"What's that saying?... you snooze you lose?" He laughed.
I grumbled to myself before inserting some of the money I stole from Aunt Mito into the machine. I tossed ball after ball into the machine, and when I got to the last one I decided to see what his score was.
Surprisingly we were both on the last ball, I looked at his score to see that he had gotten 100 every time! And then I heard some sort of clicking noise and looked at his machine... it was transforming! The holes were all moving aside and another one appeared right in the middle. This hole was one that Gon had only earned one time before, it appeared when you got 100 on every single ball before it. This hole was worth 2000 points! But it was pretty much impossible to get. You had to have the most amazing aim in the world to get it! The hole was just a hundredth of an inch bigger than the actual ball so the angle mattered too. (Just go with it. I know it's super cliché) "woah you're so good at this Killua. I can't believe you got the 2000 points hole." Those words caught everybody's ear in the arcade. In the next 2 seconds everybody was huddled around Killua, even the employees.
"What's so special about this?" He asked sincerely.
"You seriously don't know?!" Some girl from the crowd shouted.
"Uh... no?"
"You have to get every single ball in the 100 points hole up until the last ball, and then when you get this option you have to make it in the 2000 points hole or you lose all your points. But if you make it in you get 20x the amount of tickets as you had before this round." I explained the best I could. There was no way he was going to make it anyway, so why were people so interested?
"Okay..." Well he might as well try, I got plenty of tickets for the both of us anyways. "How many people have actually made it?" He asked.
"Nobody has ever gotten it in the 2000 point hole. Not even Gon." One of the employees said.
"Hey!" I yelled, "in my defense, it's practically impossible!"
"Well it's clearly not that impossible... he just made it!" Another girl screamed.
"W-what?! No way!" How is that even possible?! Maybe he's played a ton too. "Hey Killua?"
"Hm?"
"How often do you play this game?!"
"Huh? Oh that was my first time."
"What?!" Everybody in the arcade yelled at the same time. And who can blame them? This is Killua's first time playing ski ball and he could already go head-to-head with the world champion!
All of a sudden a bunch of girls came jumping at Killua from the crowd. "Wow senpai~! You're so good at this! Why don't we go out sometime?!" One of them yelled. This was quickly responded by a bunch of other girls yelling, "no! He's mine! Senpai~!" I looked at Killua and he stared back at me. He looked overwhelmed. And when I say overwhelmed, it's like he just came face to face with a man eating monster. I quickly grabbed his wrist leaving behind our tickets and my last ball, and I yeeted us out of the arcade.
"W-what the hell?" Killua still had a crazed look in his eyes and I decided that now would be a good time for a chocolate robot.
I laughed, "come on Killua. Let's go to the river in the forest."
"Hm? Why?"
"Why not?"
"Okay, whatever."
"Cool!" I had him follow me down the road to the forest when I caught a familiar head of orange hair. It's Aunt Mito! She looked like she was running somewhere. Where could she be going?
"Gon?" I heard Killua's voice beside me and noticed that I had stopped running. "Is something wrong!"
"Ah, no. Sorry Killua, I just saw my Aunt Mito over there. Come on I want you to meet her!" I didn't give him a chance to speak before we were off.
"H-hey," he stammered while struggling to get back on his feet.
"Aunt Mito!" I called. She turned around kind of surprised to see me. She was completely out of breath.
"Gon! Hi..." she said glancing towards Killua briefly than back to me.
Killua's POV:
"Gon! Hi.." the woman said. I saw her eyes flicker over to me. She seemed kind of distraught? I guess... I don't know. "This must be Killua." She looked at me fully this time and smiled a huge smile. But I could see through it, it was fake, she didn't trust me. In fact, I'm willing to bet that she is down here because Gon told her about me and she heard about the incidents of missing people. She probably thinks I'm the one behind them. I mean she's not wrong but I have to make her think that she is, at least for a little bit. I don't plan on killing or even hurting Gon, and if she is special to him, I won't hurt her either.
I nodded to her, "it's nice to meet you ma'am." I smiled slightly but made sure not to show my teeth. I didn't want to risk my fangs showing (And no, Killua's fangs don't always show, but he's getting kinda thirsty and Gon smells really good to him).
"Hey Gon?" She turned to the green haired boy.
"What is it, Aunt Mito?"
"Why don't you go buy us some tickets to go see that new movie that came out yesterday?"
"Okay! Be right back Killua!" No Gon, don't leave me alone with HER!!!
"So Killua..." his aunt said from beside me.
"Hm?" Don't say old hag! Don't say old hag!! Don't say old hag!!! I bit my tongue as hard as I possibly could. Insulting one of Gon's family members would not work in my favor at all. I turned to look her in the eyes.
"Do you happen to know about the missing people around the area recently?" Yep, I was right. What should I do? If I lie to her, and then she finds out the truth later, she'll never let me hang out with Gon again. Then again, if I just tell her the truth now, it'll probably end the same way. Goddammit Gon. Why'd you leave me alone with her?!
"Uh, yeah actually. I overheard some people talking about it on my way here." I decided to tell her certain truths but not anything that she could use against me.
"So then you are aware of the disappearing people, and you still came here? Why would you put yourself in harms way just to come here?"
"I mean, what's life without a little adventure? Plus I'm a really good fighter, I bet I could handle almost any danger that comes my way!"
"Hm... ok. If you don't mind me asking... would you happen to be the thing that keeps taking people?" Shit! What should I do now?! Great Killua! You just had to meet Gon and decide not to kill him! Baka!
"I'm back!" A voice calls from behind us. Gon... you are officially an angel. Mito turns to Gon and breaks out a huge smile for him. I smile slightly too. I know that she is gonna bring this up again later, but at least now I have more time to think of an answer that won't hurt me in either way.
"So wait. What movie are we watching?"
"Well actually just the first few episodes to a new show called Hunter X Hunter. Apparently it's supposed to be really good. It's about a boy who is 12 and his friend who's also 12. They are taking this exam thing to see if they qualify to be hunters or something. I don't know much about it." Gon piped in. I shrugged and let Gon lead the way to the theatre.
Suddenly Mito came up beside me and whispered, "we're not done with our little conversation."
"I figured." I nodded my head. "But maybe we can talk somewhere a little more private than a crowded town."
She pondered over that for a bit and eventually she nodded her head. "We'll talk tonight at our house."
I shrugged and nodded once again. Then I put my hands behind my head and walked up towards Gon. I want to spend as little time with that woman as possible. "So... what were you and Aunt Mito talking about?" He asked.
"Nothing much. But is it ok if I come over for a sleepover tonight? I want to escape my family tonight."
"Sure!"
"Thanks."
"What are friends for? I mean if not to help the other escape from the terrors of annoying older sisters." (I typed this, but it hurts because I'm the older sister of my family ;-;)
"F-friends?" He wants to be my friend? Why?
"Yeah! Did you not want to be friends?" He looked down kind of sad.
I don't know what came over me, but I went over and hugged him. Even though I could feel Mito's glare burning holes in my back, I didn't care. I know I just met him yesterday, but it hurts me to see him sad. He's shown me more kindness than anybody else ever has before. "No, that's not what I meant. I was just surprised is all. Not many people want to be friends with me."
"Really?" He perked up and smiled brightly. Then he tackled me. We fell to ground with Gon on top of me. I chuckled at how quickly his emotions changed. But when I looked over at Mito she just looked concerned. Maybe she's not so bad. I mean, she is just worried for her family. What is so bad about that? Though she could be a little nicer about it.
We went to the movie, and I must say, something felt oddly familiar to me and the main character's new friend (gee, I wonder why). Overall it was pretty good though. And I can't wait to see the next episodes with Gon next week.
I followed them to their house where I found out that Mito was actually like Gon's mom. It was just the two of them living together.
Mito went to go make dinner while Gon and I went up to his room. "Hey Killua, we forgot about the chocolate!" He exclaimed as soon as I shut the door. He quickly grabbed the sugar filled robots from his bag and put one on his desk. Then he handed me one and started opening the remaining. He looked at me expectantly, "don't you like chocolate robots?"
"I've never had chocolate before." I laughed nervously.
He stared at me in disbelief. "You've never had chocolate before?! How is your life this sad?! Just try it come on! I swear on my life that you will like it."
"Okay..." I gently tore away part of the wrapper and bit into the chocolate figure. It was... delicious!!! Oh my god! I've never tasted anything this good before! I quickly ate the rest of the chocolate. Then I did what any sane person would do and stole Gon's.
"Hey!" He yelled trying to take back his chocolate. But I evaded every move until I finished it and he tackled me. "That was mine!" He whined.
"Isn't there another one on the table?" I asked feeling slightly guilty for eating his. He sighed and got up. He walked over to the table and picked up the glorious food that came down from heaven itself. He held it close to himself and was slightly turned away from me as he ate it. He was clearly trying to keep it from my grasp. I couldn't help but chuckle at this. Though the chocolate was good, it wasn't the only thing that looked delicious. I couldn't help but stare at Gon's neck imagining what he would taste like. No! Stop! Bad brain! Bad! I shook my head furiously before we heard Mito call for us to come down from downstairs.
We both ran downstairs and I saw Mito do a quick run over of Gon to make sure I hadn't done anything to him, and I really couldn't help but roll my eyes. I swear I tried to stop it, but I just couldn't. I smiled and sat next to Gon at the table. We ate a ton of food, though nothing was as good as the chocolate, and it seemed to make me more thirsty. I'll have to tell Mito I'm gonna go get something to eat before our little talk. But all that aside, dinner was actually very enjoyable. Gon was telling Mito about everything that had happened today. About how he had apparently decided that jumping into a lake in the middle of October was a good idea, and how I had gotten the 2000 point hole on the ski ball game. When Gon said this, she looked at me. But this time not with suspicion or hatred, she seemed genuinely shocked and in awe. I tentatively smiled back at her. If I'm gonna tell her everything, I might as well get on her good side. Hopefully then she won't hate me as much.
Eventually, dinner came to an end and Gon and I went up to his room to hang out a bit more. After about an hour he said that he was gonna go to bed. I said I would stay up a bit longer but would hangout outside his room so that I didn't disturb him.
I quietly went out of the room to see his aunt standing there down the stairs. She wore a cold expression as she glared up at me. "It's time to finish our little chat."
