At the New York Duelist Tower…
I bought a chocolate fudge brownie from the store, next to the medical area; the brownie had chocolate chips in it, but it was shaped like a piece of bread… I unknowingly walk down the identical hallway and see the bright blue doors that lead me.
I slowly opened the door to the medical center and looked for Jaffel he sat upon the brown bench shirtless, he didn't look too badly hurt but, … I don't wanna ask.
Jaffel looked up at me with his almond green eyes, he weakly smiled at me and I walked towards him slowly and held out the brownie.
"For me?" He said mockingly shocked and held out the hand not holding his stomach.
"Well, I could have eaten it," I said sitting next to him, "But… that chocolate isn't my cup of tea," I added pushing the brownie more to him.
He took in a deep breath and let out a soft "yaaay"
I took my hands back and spectated his wound, the blood went through the bandages and gauze and the wound was rather small… sometimes I forget how much blood actually is in the body.
We sat in silence, I watched him slowly open the brownie but my mind could help but drift off into the battle... so many helpless people... I wonder what they were like before.
"Hey," Jaffel said and knocked me out of my thoughts, I turned to him and smiled "Hey yourself," I said
His eyes narrowed... he sat up straighter and asked me "What are you think about," He said with a huge grin on his face.
"Do I even want to know what you're getting at?" I asked with a straight face.
He just sat there smiling at me... I smiled back...he got up still smiling I saw him standing there "No," I said "I'm gonna get some cocoa"
I walked around Jaffel and walked slowly to the door "you're not even gonna ask?" he said walking behind me, I opened the door slowly and when I stepped through the doorway and slammed the door behind me, he tried to push the door but I held it shut.
"Rest, or I'll put you down myself,"
I said, still holding the door.
He had stopped pushing so I stopped holding on to the door, I stepped back a few feet and waited.
"Aight," I said under my breath
I turned away and walked down the hallway.
My clothes were covered in dirt and dried blood, I needed a shower.
Bzz Bzz
My phone chimed, I looked at it and a report came through, the report read: The following will report to the auditorium for further briefings on a mission that will be taking place in the southern states of America.
Squads of Leo, Sagg, and Aries.
It's been a while since I had to do a mission in the south, I make my way to the auditorium doors... they were closed, I opened one door slowly to cause less sound, the room was dark when I stepped in.
"GOOD EVENING' MS. CASTILLO,"
The sound of Captain Graham's voice projected across the room to me and I jumped at his voice.
"Good evening sir," I said as I walked to a seat "how was your day so far," I said finally sitting down next to fellow Leo's.
"Mines was fabulous, but now that everyone is here," he said and looked around the room "let's get started" he added and started to pace around.
"As you know there are more and worse demons showing' up around the area and around the U.S. however, none of our friendly countries want to help, and in fact are keeping us at arms distance, for us startin' the third war in wat-not, but now we have to fend for ourselves to get rid of them damned demons, so our lovely city leader Ms. Katana has come up with a plan to take them out with the help from our very close friends the humans, any questions?" He asked looking around the room.
The squads were silent except a few Leo's in the back, he noticed.
"DON'T THINK I AIN'T GOT NO EARS NOW," He said his voice freezing all of us.
"Great," he said and turned to his papers and back around again "SO," he said as he clapped his hands, "I was told by the general from Ms. Katana that there will be another general with us when we go, Madam Chia-Wei, general of Scorpio," he paused and the room murmured at the name.
"I know what you all think, but our swell city leader is coming along on this trip and not just to sit her pretty little ass and watch, she gonna fight too, so don't worry your pretty little behinds, about Madam Chia-Wei be all up on ya," he said and winked at us, "any questions," he said again
The squads were quiet this time.
"Ok, good to see we're on the same page, you'll get flown down there before sun up around 3 a.m. case something goes up, for 2 days you will be scouting' not killing," he said and looked around the room stopping his eyes at a few students.
"I repeat Scouting. Not killing, do I make myself clear?" He asked around the room.
Silence all around
"Good, now if I see a dead demon, the person who killed it will be sent back and on suspension for 2 months," he said in one breath, smiled and shrugged, then turned back to his desk.
"You are dismissed, have a good day,"
I got up and walked out of the auditorium along with everyone else, I headed towards the sleeping area to catch some shut-eye before getting up at 3.
I took a deep breath and stretched while I walked to the barracks.
"Aye, Jesús," I said as I walked through the doors of the barracks.

4:50 A.M City leaders tower
I walked into the office to grab a couple of things before I went, the moon was lowering itself, slowly, the moon was almost at its peak; full moon in 2 days.
I grabbed the thing I came up to get, my book.
The door opened and Chloé's voice came through "The car is downstairs waiting,"
"Didn't I tell you to stay home with your husband?" I said turning around, with my book in hand.
"Yes, but I still have a job to do," Her voice got lower with each word.
"Please, you have nothing to do here, you'll be called if I need you, and you will be paid, so go ahead," I said with the straightest face I could muster.
The door squeaked, "Yes, ma'am," she said
"You're holding the door?" I said
"Oh, yes,"
"Mm… ok," I said and I turned to touch my desk and slide my hands across the surface lightly looking for my pen and notebook.
"Take a step to the left ma'am," Chloé said from a-far
I took a deep breath, "Go Chloé before I actually put you on leave," I said slightly turning my head.
"Ok, yes ma'am," She said and I heard her heels echo across the floor getting quieter and quieter.
I let out a long sigh and headed out of my office.
The elevators felt cold and gloomy and in that cold, I thought of Yukata again, I really do wonder why she keeps popping in my mind so often, it was one night, and we didn't even do anything, this is stupid.
The ding from the elevators made me jump and I was standing there, I got out into the cold lobby where my driver was waiting, when I got respectfully close he bowed and walked out of the building.
It was a crisp and dark night, no moonlight for me to see down here, I got into the cab where the lights flickered on and off.
"Do you want the lights on or off Ms.?" The driver asked.
"Off," I said and the lights died slowly and I was uncovered into the darkness of the back seat.

The jet was already running when I got here, the heavy engine sent a smell to my nose that I don't miss, I stopped to take a deep breath.
"It's ok, just don't get into it and you're fine, great?... Great" I said under my breath boarding the private plane.
I stepped into the plane, my feet making a thump sound on the metal straits and waved at the air.. no matter is she was looking or not, I didn't get much sleep cause of my mind just running with thoughts, so I just wanna sleep.
I sat a few seats down, I shouldered my bag and sat it across from me, I slumped into the seat and closed my eyes, and before I knew it… there was a face that I could stop seeing, the wonder of what it would be like to run my fingers across her face to explore it, to caress her hair, to feel her everywhere.
"Hey," a voice, her voice it sounded more bitter
"Mmm hi," I spoke back to her slower
"Katana," I heard my name again, and then a hit… a hut that woke me up a hit that broke me out of my lovely slumber.
"Back up," I said, barely able to open my eyes, but smelling her heat and perfume
She did as directed, her heat turned cold "I noticed," she cleared her throat, "you were making certain noises and your face is a shade of bright pink,"
"I-... well," I stammered to come up with an answer
"Save it, I don't need to know, but I wouldn't be caught dead with a lusting woman next to me, so go fix yourself," She said in her harsh general tone. "Were landing in half an hour,"
"Uh…" I couldn't come up with anything so I just waved her off and went to the bathroom.
I cupped my face with my hands, I felt warm heat, Aneko was right… I probably had a very nice shade of pink on my face; could be seen as makeup; I splashed cold water onto my face to cool myself down and touched up my hair.
"Just a few days," I said to myself, "Then you can relax in your home,"
I touched everything once more and stepped out of the bathroom, I could feel Aneko burning me with glaring eyes.
I walked to my seat and sat down I heard a laptop close.
"Excuse me," I said pointing my finger up
I heard muffled footsteps get heavier and closer.
"Yes, madam, would you like," A soft voice came to my ears.
"Can I get a whisky neat,"
"Yes ma'am,"
Some time passed I pulled out my notebook and pen from my bag and wrote down my daily thought, I always do this as therapy for myself, if I can't tell anyone my feelings then I should at least let the white pages of my notebook feel my pain for me.
"What were you thinking about?" Aneko's voice startled me a little, "Or rather, who?" I looked up, muffled footsteps again.
"Whisky neat, and Vodka tonic," The soft voice again said as he put the drink in my hand
"So?" Aneko asked expectantly
I took a sip of my Whisky "I'm dating someone," I said taking another sip
"Bullshit, you don't date, you fuck," She said in a bitter tone
I clasp my teeth together.
"I can date... when I feel up to it," I said taking another sip
"Bullshit again, your only relationships are guys and... you... you"
"I what,"
You... grind them down and break their heart in the second you get with them... so how could you ever fall for a guy," She said and took a sip of her vodka "So this has to be a woman," She added
"You read me like a book," I said with a straight face
"This is obviously something new cause even with women, you get bored," She paused "Eventually,"
I sighed defeat, "You're right, I'm not dating," I paused and just blurted out "And what if I said I was just having a dream about my teeth falling out,?" I said nonchalantly.
"You've never dreamt about anything happening to you... per se, you mostly don't dream, and when you do... you talk," She said and I heard her glass clink again a surface.
"Why can't for one time you can just say... I don't care," I said picking up my notebook.
"Cause I care,"
"You lie, and I hate lying,"
"You hate me?"
"Yes... a lot,"
"Wow, your so rude,"
"I just don't like liers,"
She paused "I am no such thing,"
"Right,"
"Girl code remember,"
I raised an eyebrow "girl code?"
"Yes, I get the liberty to lie to you cause you're my friend,"
"Go fuck yourself,"
"I will tonight, probably in a bush or in a tree,"
"Why nature? Do you want an ant in your coochie?" I asked, genuinely confused.
"No... yes... maybe,"
"Your disgusting," I said swallowing my drink whole.
"You're a loner,"
I heard the sound of muffled footsteps "We will be landing soon," said the soft voice
"Lovely chat, we should have more," Aneko said, her tone was less bitter than our chat.
I faced down and opened my notebook to put in my entry for today, for the second time.
