Later that day I was at my locker, gathering all my homework Cory walks over
"Hey so I'm sorry about earlier. I didn't know Cheryl would go crazy"
I stayed silent
"Jade?" His voice comes out quiet
I look at him. He looks confused but I didn't fall for it
"Okay look" I slam my locker causing him to flinch a little. "I'm not happy. First we hate each other and then we seem like good friends then you hate me again, and then we are friends and now we apparently arent. I don't want to do the mood swings anymore. I'm either your friend or not"
I stand there waiting. He starts stuttering. I'm not going to lie I was hurt. I just scoff
"That's what I thought" I walk past him. He pulls me back towards him. My hands smack against his chest, his arms around my waist, our faces close. My breath Quickened.
I pull away from him "you can't do that Cory. You can't mess with my feelings. They are not toys for you to play with"
I walk past him and out of the school
I know I'll be late so I walk a little faster and hop on my bike. I text Ana.
Hey Ana, want to come over and have a girls weekend?
2:35 pm
Yeah duh! I'll be at your house at 6

My uncle is gone for a few weeks. I finally can have a friend over. I drove off to the alley I go to and got off. Putting on my gloves.
It may seem stupid but I've been fighting here since I was 14. It was the only way to get money. The only way to help out my family.
But after I got cancer I had to stop since I was too weak. I could barely even get out of bed. I started again after my family died. Soon after they died I wasn't sick anymore My uncle wasn't going to take care of us so someone had to.
The dark enclosed space engulfing me as I walk down the alley. The smell of alcohol and blood flooded the area. A lot of the people there hated me. Except for the group of friends I had there
"Hey bulldog, John, and corton. Long time no see"
"Ayyy firecracker we missed you!" Bulldog threw me over the shoulder and I started laughing. He puts me down I punch John in the shoulder and give corton a fist bump
"Hey fire it's been a long time"
"Nah it's only been a few months. I had to work at the other place but I missed it here. " I heard a very familiar voice call my name me and the boys looked at him
"Jade?"
"Cory?"

CORY POV:

God I'm so stupid
Stupid stupid stupid
All she wanted was me to say we were friends or not and I freaked out. Now she hates me
I mean obviously I don't care what the hell she thinks about me
I needed to fix my mistake. I hate saying sorry but I don't like seeing her hurt for some reason
I see her riding off and I get in my truck and follow her. I thought she was just going home but I see her go in a alley way
Well that's weird
I follow her close behind once she enters through the alley I follow her. Two big guys standing tall in the entrance. I stop in front of them
"Hey kid you new here?"
I have no clue what here is but let's just go with it
"Yes I am"
He holds out his hand. Damn it he wants money. I dig in my pocket for my wallet and hand him a $100
He nods stuffing it in his pocket. "Go place your bets at the table once you get inside or sign up if you want to fight."
I nod walking through the alley. Oh dear god she fights for money. That explains a lot. Honestly it's kind of hot. I can't really say anything I've never fought for money but before my dad died I was apart of a gang.
Typical right?
Well they were called the vipers trust me I know I tried getting them to change the name but apparently they liked it
Anyway after my father passed away I couldn't be apart of it anymore. I couldn't deal with the fact of what my father would've said if he found out. All I wanted was to help but it went too far. They refused to let me go so being the idiot I am I escaped and told my mom
And dear god let me tell you that was not a fun conversation. So we moved and got off the radar and now here I am. I still remember the last thing I heard from the boss. "When I find you I'll make you pay." That's mostly why I push people away. I dont want to get attached and have them ripped from me. I know they'll find me one day. It's just a matter of time.

I see Jade in the distance. She was over some big guy shoulder and she greets the other two. I can tell the one with many tattoos was the leader. It's very obvious. The other two were a bit smaller and had a few tattoos and some piercings.
I did not like the fact they were touching her. I growl getting pissed but I control myself.
She was not mine to get mad at.
"Jade?"
"Cory?"
I walk up to her ignoring the eyes of the giant man and the two little dudes
"What the hell are you doing here Cory? Are you following me? "
I smirk shaking my head "no.. Well technically yes. I wanted to apologize Snowflake"
I could see her stunned. It was hard for me so I tried changing the subject stalling before I had to. I look up at the guys
"Awe little firecracker has a boyfriend. And a new nickname" The big one said
The little one looks at the other little one "corton you owe me 30 dollars. She is definitely not a lesbian"
What kind of name is corton. He mumbles giving him 30 dollars Jade growls punching corton
"Seriously you guys? Ugh whatever bulldog he is not my boyfriend." Okay so big guy is bulldog "and John thank you for knowing I am NOT a lesbian" Okay so John is the only one with a normal name good to know. Next thing I know corton holds out his hand
"Hey obviously I'm corton. Thanks for taking of our girl" He smiles and honestly I just want to punch him.
My girl
She ain't your girl she is my girl.
Okay not my girl. Yet.
I just fight the urge to call a code purple and I just reach my hand out I shook at their hands. Bulldog looks like he wants to rip my throat out. I glare back at him before jade clears her throat.
"Okay anyway we better get inside. It's weapon night and I need to pick"
She rushes us inside
Weapon night?
Once we walk in I see a giant room filled with people. A table in the corner with a sign up sheet which I'm guessing is if you want to fight and a few cards which I'm guessing is bets. And there is money up front.
hmmm interesting.
What really caught my attention was the weapon wall behind it. There were chains, knives, swords above had a sign that read "free for all night" I'm guessing that means you can use whatever?
What if she gets hurt?
I will hurt anyone who even lays a finger on her.
I follow behind her when she walks up to the table. A girl sitting in a chair smiles up at her. She has a pixie cut and little freckles on her face. She was wearing a black sports bra and spandex shorts.
" Hey quarrel, bull, John, and cor" She looks at me smirking
"well hello freshmeat I see"
Jade laughs. Hearing her laugh just warms my heart "down girl. He is just here to watch."
"Hmm that's a shame. Would've loved to see what those arms can do"
"Maybe you can later. I have a few moves you might like" I winked at her. I noticed Jade's face twitch.
Hmm good kind of my goal.
John starts cracking up "damn I like you already"
Jade gives him one look that shuts him up
"Anyway Vipe I'll take the V-42 siloutto type 2"
Jade knows her knives too.
Seriously hot.
The girl grabs her knife handing it to her "nice choice"
Jade looks at me "alright so I'm going to get ready just stand with the crowd and make your bet, me and the guys have to go." I look at her worriedly and she gives my arm a reassuring squeeze and walks off with the guys. I won't lie I'm definitely jealous that they are so close. I wish I was that close with her.
Does she like them? Maybe I'm overreacting
"Ahem. So who are you betting on?" Viper leans closer smiling
"Wells who is jade fighting? "
"Firecracker? Her stage name is cherry. She is fighting with slicer. " Slicer? Seriously the names are weird
"I'm betting on jade. 200." She nods taking my money placing it in front of jades name. I wonder why they call her firecracker? Apparently her stage name is just cherry. That sounds so sweet and innocent which is kind of weird? Maybe I can ask her about that.
I walk to the crowd standing the front waiting while everyone cheers
"Hey you new? I haven't seen you around? "
Next to me stood a guy about my height. He had blonde hair with green tips. He was wearing no shirt and Jean pants.
"Yeah I'm here with jade"
"Jade?"
"Right sorry the mini firecracker? "
His face lights up "ohh cherry? She is a good fighter."
Maybe he'll know "do you know why they call her cherry?
He chuckles " Yeah she went with cherry because of how innocent it sounds. Mostly guys fight here and you know they get pretty cocky and so do most of the girls so they place more money on the opposite person. So when she wins she gets more money. Plus that's always been her nickname because of her hair. "
Damn that's actually smart
I nod I was about to say something when the announcer interrupts "alright everyone we will get started. Make sure to place bets. We will get started!" The crowd goes crazy "so we will be have two pairs of fights tonight. Bulldog vs. Corton" I wonder why they didn't have stage names. I guess it's optional. "And the next two will be cherry vs. The slicer!" The moment her name left his mouth the crowd went ballistic. Screaming and clapping filled the room.
Bulldog and corton got on the ring getting ready. Five minutes already passed and corton was on the ground. Bulldog stands in victory.
Well that was quick.
They both used chains which I'm guessing is extremely painful
Jade steps on the ring fist bumping bulldog and corton gives her a quick hug. She makes sure he is okay first before they walk off. She was wearing spandex shorts and a dark blue sports bra.
God her body is beautiful. I couldn't help but stare at her boobs. I mean they were looking right at me
She looks at me and I wave at her mouthing the words "good luck" She nods and looks at her opponent stepping on the ring.
My God he is huge. His muscles looking like they could explode any minute. He flexes them and the crowd starts screaming. He is definitely cocky. It isn't about about how big your opponent is it's about what they bring to the table.
"Next is our famous and definitely remarkable cherry and the new guy slicer! " Jade stretches really quick and gets ready. She grabs her knife and slicer laughs grabbing his slightly bigger blade.
Did that come out wrong?
Once the bell rings she looks at his feet as he lunges at him trying to punch her she quickly moves aside moving her left foot under his causing him to trip. He growls in response getting back up she uppercuts him quickly stabbing him in the shoulder. He groaned stabbing her in the stomach before she can block him away. Hearing her groan in pain made me want to strangle him. He picks her up from band about to slam her down but she wraps her legs around his torso and wrapped her arm around his neck flipping him over. Everyone starts chanting her name. He gets back up and slices her arm. She ignores it and punches him in the stomach. She stabs him again by this time in the stomach and she grabs him by his neck swiping his feet making him fall the ground. He screams in pain. He doesn't get back up and she smirks in victory
She raises her hands up making the crowd go crazy.
That's my girl
She steps off the ring and limps to a room I run after her walking in. It wasn't a big room but it had couches and first aid kits. She sits down panting. The boys run up to her. John frantically checks every inch of her to see if she is okay. Bulldog looks at me "do you know how to apply stitches? " That's the first time he spoke to me.
"Yes." I walk up to her cleaning up her cuts. She doesn't flinch or complain
"You did great snowflake" Honestly I was so terrified she would be hurt but I'm impressed. She is extremely tough.
I stitch up her arm and she smiles at me "thank you" After I stitch up her arm and stomach I didn't notice we were staring at each other until John cleared his throat awkwardly
"Ahem. So you guys have been doing that for ten minutes now are you done? " Corton smacks him in the shoulder
"Shut up you ruined their moment" They started smacking each other and Jade starts laughing once bulldog grabs their heads pulling them apart
"Enough guys come on now leave them alone. Sorry firecracker we'll leave you love birds alone." He nods at me as if thanking me and I nod back and he pushes the boys out the door.
"So why did you come here again? "
Damn it now I have to apologize. Here comes the hard part
"Well I'm um.. I'm sorry. I'm seriously sorry. I want to be friends. I just don't have any except for Damon and I don't really know how to deal with that. I'm just use to pushing people away I guess" I look down looking at my fingers.
"It's okay. I honestly understand. It's new to me that people aren't scared of me and actually want to be friends. Thank you for telling me." She holds my hand
The feeling of our hands molding together feels amazing. Feeling sparks instantly I pull my hand away standing up.
"I should go Snowflake. I'll see you later. Please be careful with your injuries. "
And with that I walk our of the room. My hand feeling empty again.
