It is still early in the morning but Josephine chose to ruin it already.
"Why didn't you informed me that I have an appointment at the JST Productions today?!" I hysterically asked her once more. I don't care if I offend her because of my voice or anything I might say back to her because that is her job! "THIS IS A BIG DEAL, JOSEPHINE"
"Lo siento mucho, Ms. Argent. Lo siento lo siento" she's afraid, I can see that clearly in her aura. Josephine Carlos is my personal assistant for about 2 weeks now. I fired my recent because of her lack of timeliness and is a fan of gossiping argh. Everyone knows that no personal assistants can understand how much strict I am but this woman ate her guts.
I am Martina Argent, 27, a scriptwriter and director for the JST Productions. I live in Valencia, Spain—thriving alone, obviously. I pretty much do have a very dramatic life but I used it to empower my passion more—my passion for writing story for everyone else.
🎞
"You're late" Mr. Montaner said when I got inside his office. I didn't waste any more minute to argue with my assistant and go directly here at the building, using my 2 year-old white Tesla. Under my white pants and red polo shirt, my heart was really stammering hard for what he might say to me because of my idiot Josephine.
"I'm sorry for I am late. My assistant has failed to give me my schedule for today but I'll never let this happen again"
"Have a seat Ms. Argent" he points the chair in front of his desk.
"Gracias"
I let out a big sigh and calm my nerves out. There is nothing to be worried about, Martina.
"I have immediately called you for a very important meeting. I have seen your recent output and I'm very impressed with the storyline" he stated.
"My recent story? Are you indicating the Out in the Moon or the Las Personas?" I asked him. Well, both of that are great because I am the one who wrote that. Martina Argent, the best writer en España.
"No. I'm referring to your Un Beso En Madrid"
What?
"What?" He can't be joking right? It's not even worth it. It's just a mere script of a very dramatic life. My life, to be exact. "Las Personas will surely hit the market more than Un Beso En Madrid because it's more—" he got me off guard when he slid the paper and pen on the table between us. I was speechless for that moment, he is serious about making that story into life.
"You are a great writer Ms. Argent and I truly praise your works starting from when you were just a mere intern in here. And I never did ask you for a favor before, so please, do me a favor and make Un Beso En Madrid to theaters" he said, looking into my eyes with a glint of hope. A hope that I can never refuse into because he's my boss and that would break my oath which is to be professional at all times.
Why did I even write that story?!
I know I don't have much of a choice so I finally nod and signed the contract. Money will still be generated after that so it will still be a win for me.
"Thank you Ms. Argent. We will look forward for your another breathtaking piece" he smiled before continuing, "by the way, we have picked an initial set of actors for the movie. You can check them out tomorrow. Let us know if you want some any adjustments after that or anything you will be needing for the set"
"Of course. Thank you also Mr. Montaner for trusting in me. I better keep going" I waved goodbye and with a last glance I leave his office with a rambling mind. Some people from the building greeted and said 'good morning' as I past them, but I'm too occupied to at least say 'hi'.
I started the engine of my car and decided to go to the nearest coffee shop I will see. While driving, I can't help but to imagine my life here at Valencia, how I survived alone, how I'll still be alone for the next years of my life. Valencia. This place holds a lot of memories for me...those memories that made me tougher as an independent woman and for who I am now—the best writer in Spain.
"One matcha Frappuccino, please" then I slid my card on the counter. There are also a few people here in La Café Station, some on their newspapers and the rest are just casually taking their breakfast in the morning. I always go here and do my job because it's quieter than the other cafes I have been into. They don't serve bad coffees and foods in here so I think it will suit my taste.
While waiting for my matcha, I opened my iPad and started to read my story from the top. I wanted my works to be as detailed as possible and will leave the viewers a big impact. If you didn't know, I have produced 10 movies and have written 5 scripts for others which all hit the markets so well. I have been nominated to some local award shows but it did not stop me and never will, to strive more because this is who I am now. A girl who will never stop until she's at the top—with a full view of those people who have tried to pull me down once.
"Here's your order, Mam" said the waitress with a blonde hair and white complexity. I can tell that she is not a Latin. Maybe far from Canada, maybe.
🎞
I have spent my whole night fixing some of the technical errors from the script and have started to contact some of the people who will give service and help throughout the whole shootings.
At exactly 5:00 am, I ran a bit outside and then get ready for today's work. I wore a black ripped jeans and white polka dotted off-shoulder, matching with my 3 inches black heels. I decided to curl my brown shoulder length hair and put a smokey make-up on my face.
I grab my Hermès bag and drive my way to the JST building. It is sunny and no hint of a bad weather coming, people are doing things for their shops and restaurants as I passed by. Typical Valencia.
"Buenas días, Ms. Argent. Here's your coffee Mam" then Josephine gave me a cup of steaming hot matcha coffee (just as I told her), "The actors are waiting in the room and we have fixed the lightings and the interrogation stuffs you will be needing for today"
"Gracias" I shortly replied—still cold, still a snob. A girl who's really persistent to show me she really is sorry—which reminds me of someone. Someone I knew too well before.
"Good morning everyone" I said while sitting on my directors' chair, with my posture oh so well.
"Good morning, Ms. Argent"
"Buenas días"
"Feliz días"
My eyes started to roam each of the actors and actresses sitting right in front of me. There are some that I knew like Jason Prada and Milla Andez—both I have worked with before for a romance movie. And the rest are completely unfamiliar to my eyes. I guess Mr. Montaner wants to try the newcomers huh, well let's see how far they can work for me.
"Are they complete now?" I asked my right hand for this project, Liam Cortez.
"Uhmm let me just check it one last time" he moved his gaze to the paper he is holding, while I, fidgeting on the pen that I have. "Someone's late. The name is Se-"
He have been cut off by a man who just popped up on the door. Jeez. I would have shouted because of that, but coffee had my system ready.
"Sebastian Alvarez" the man completed.
Somewhat familiar.
I don't know where did I saw him but he seems oddly familiar to me. My curiosity fills in and indulge the features of the man standing in the doorway—slowly.
Then it all came crashing down on me.
Sebastian Alvarez.
The man who broke me in to pieces.
The man who left me bleeding.
The man behind this story that I made.
"I'll be portraying Sergio Alvaro" I feel like I lost all the blood inside of me. I feel like my heart could beat up the number one racer in the world.
It can't be.
I'll be spending my whole 2 months with him. 2 months with Sebastian...
