"Wake up.wake up"My mother shakes my shoulder.
I sit up on my bed and rubb my eyes with the back of hand.
"Mom!What day is it?"
She laughs.
"silly you.You were in your room the whole time asleep yesterday.You were exhausted"Get ready for school you'll be late"
She leaves my room and I jump out of bed.I drag the curtains of my window into two halves and I stare outside.
Strange.
Or was I dreaming yesterday.
I take a cold shower and wear a white shirt and a pink pinaform with a pair of pink flats to match.I tie my hair in a ponytail and take my leather handbag.
"Good morning family"I greet my family and take a seat next to my dad.
"How are you?You were exhausted yesterday.You didn't wake up when I came to your room to wake you for supper"My pa asks and takes a sip of his hot coffee.
"Was there a storm yesterday"I ask desperately
"No Anastasia.Just the warm weather"My mother tells me as she places a plate of pineapple upside down cake and hot strawberry tea.
What happened yesterday came into my mind.
"Laura.Where are you"I ask as I look around.
"She's sitting next to you"My mother says whilst looking at me weirdly.
I look beside me and see Laura sitting next to me eating coffee cake.
My heart beat finally comes to the normal rate.She's fine
My mother takes her hand bag and puts two slices of cake wrapped in foil in it.
"I'm taking Laura to school"She walks over to the table and carries Laura out of her chair.
She kisses my and I father on the cheeks and leaves.
My father also leaves with his gun after finishing his breakfast.
"Be safe"he tells me before he steps out of the house.
I am alone still eating my cake.I grab some chocolate cake and put it in my bag before I leave the house.I lock the door.
"Hello!Hello"
A boy about my age is running towards me.
He stopps infront of me,panting for breath as his hands are placed on his bent knees for support.
He stands right up breathing a little better than before.
"Hey!"
"Hey" I respond back.
"I'm Antonio Frakes"
"I'm Anastasia Holdbrook"
"Nice to meet you"he says and stretches his left arm to shake me.
I put my hand in his and shook it.His hands are so soft.
Antonio Frakes has black silky hair,grey eyes and he's slightly taller than me.He's not well built but his arms are huge.
"How did you get here"I ask suspiciously.
"I was running from a pack of wolves.They wanted to eat me up"He says simply.
"If you don't mind"I begin"I have a class to attend,right now I'll be late"
I turn my back on him and begin to walk away but he grips my arm.
"Wait.Please don't go yet.I'm really hungry.May I have something to eat"He pleads.
The way he pleaded with me,the way he is looking into my blue eyes took pity in him.
"Ok"I say defeated"come with me"
He lets go of my and follows me.I unlock the main entrance to our house and usher him to sit down.
He slumps on a dinning chair and I fetch some water in a glass cup and take the chocolate cake from the kitchen cabinet.I cut a piece of cake I think will be satisfying for him.I look at him,he is looking outside our huge window.
I placed a plate of chocolate cake and a glass of water in front of him.
"Thank you"He says as he uses the fork I added to pierce the chocolate cake.He closes his eyes and chews the cake slowly.
"This is relly good"he says after he has swallowed the cake he was chewing down his throat.
"Yeah I know"I take the seat next to his."My mother made this.She is a baker"I tell him.
"Then she must have magical hands then"
"Yes"
After eating all the cake he gobbles down the water.
Burp.
Did he just burp.Very rude of such a handsome boy to burp infront of a lady.
I'm I a lady.Yes of course infront of a guy I am
"I'm sorry"he says and covers his mouth.
"Great you're done.Now you may leave I have a class to attend"
I don't mean to be rude but yes he has to leave.
I stand up from my chair and place my hands on the table.
"I need to get to get to the park in town.Do you know there?"
"Yes I do"I answer and come out my seat.He rises from his.I take the plates and glass and dump them in the sink.
I walk out the door and he follows me out.
We walk in silence for a while untill he speaks
"Why do you live in the woods with your family when there is a nice town ahead"
He asks me.I turn to look at him.
"Because we decided to after the hurricane attacked"I anwser.
"But why.Some of it is still rebuilt"
I shrug my shoulders.
We walk for a while till we get to the town.On the way I could see him admiring the beauty of the forests.
"The park is a five minutes walk away from here.Just keep walking till you get to a place where there is a huge fountain.No curves just keep walking in a straight line.The town is usually not busy on weekdays"I tell him.
He thanks me and goes his way while I also go mine.
The ground begins to shake like a giant is walking on it and all the wooden and brick houses begin to tremble.The ground behind to shake even faster and all the houses surronding me begin to fall.I can hear the crushing sound of bricks,the slapping sound of wood and the gritty sound of stones then something hit my head really hard.Really really hard that I black out.
