Why would Jamie make such a decision without discussing it with me first?
A decision that could hurt not just me but a decision that placed our entire family, at risk?
I realize she's worried about her sister, despite the things her sister has done to hurt her but I was already making plans to get Jessica away without getting the law involved.
Even when I was screaming at her, by her expression, Jamie realize what she'd done and I refuse to believe that I overreacted when, even my parents are confined to the Castle.
This is all so f**king messed up and Jamie couldn't even give me a f**king apology.
I lifted my head angrily at the soft knocking on the door, to see Jerome hovering on the outside.
Glaring at him because he was there when she made her call. in fact he must be the one to mentioned the possibility of Jessica being in danger.
Waving him off, "whatever it is, I don't have time for it," averting my eyes, I dismissed him, lifting my eyes a few seconds later to see him gone.
Sweeping my face with the palm of my hands, "f**k, f**k, f**k!" I yelled in the room, I use as one of our offices, that's convenient to meet with the guys.
Cam and Justin strolled in, one by one and of course Justin couldn't hide the smirk on his face, as he pulls a seat in front of me.
"Were you yelling at the boy?" Furrowing his eyebrows, Justin frowns at me.
Pushing my chair back, I stood up and point towards the doorway, where Jerome just leaned away from, "he and her," clenching my teeth in anger at having to describe Jamie as 'her'. "They did this together," I lashed out accusingly. "And the worst part, is that they didn't trust me enough to tell me what they did or ask for help," I continued not missing the look Justin and Cam exchanged.
"What the hell is that huh?" I continued on my rant. "Why the hell have I been bursting, my ass off to keep them safe," raking my hands through my hair in frustration. "To keep her safe," lowering my voice, I sat down exhaling deeply.
Shaking my head in disbelief, Jamie's betrayal is beyond real now.
"Dr. Morris said that he can't deliver the baby here so we have no choice but take her to the hospital, but how safe would she be out there, with Clyde in prison and his men on the loose?" I muttered softly, positive the guys still heard me.
Cam who was standing all the time, finally pulled a chair beside Justin, to sit opposite me.
"Technically, they're your grandfather's men," Cam reminded me, as he stares at the wall behind me thoughtfully.
"F**k yeah," Justin leaning forward exclaimed, his dark eyes lighting up. "We have the upper hand here," Justin continues. "All we have to do is convince your grandfather to issue a command to his guys to work with you and not against you because you're handling some shit or the other for him," Justin shrugs, confident he's unto, something worth going after.
Nodding because he's right.
If I wasn't being such and as**ole, I could have found a way out instead of obsessing myself with Jamie and her brother's shortcomings.
"So," leaning forward, I cradled my chin with the palm of my hands while resting my elbow on the desk. "We work with the truth," I added as I started brainstorming. "His beloved son, did some shit that brought on a raid, causing him to be imprisoned and Social Services to take his underage girlfriend Jessica, adding an extra charge on him." Pushing back my chair as I spoke, "well let's pay the dethroned king a visit," I chuckle dryly, my mind only on Jamie and the way I spoke to her earlier, positive she's not going to forgive this one, so easily.
Shaking my head in disbelief as I listen to my grandfather instruct his men about him being ill and taking a rest at a safehouse with his wife and urging his men to work with dad and I, since we are taking care of him and his wife. A message I hope they relay to his mistress, Clyde's mother.
Grandfather also convince them to lie low until I use my legal expertise to get Clyde out of prison. Even when his main guy, Donald tried to argue back with grandfather, he shut him down and firmly stood his ground.
Stretching the truth a bit, about him being under doctor care and that he's left everything and everyone in my care until he resurfaces.
As I listen, another idea take roots, especially with grandmother having signed everything she's worth to my parents, my wife and I.
As grandfather hangs up on his call, I nod for Bob to take the phone and smile at the pathetic man, grandfather has become.
"Remind me to never cheat on my wife," I said mockingly, watching my grandfather squirm. "If only you had kept it in your pants, you won't be suffering like this," I added, amused by the embarrassment, he didn't hide.
Standing up, I nod for Bob to leave, "grandmother has already signed over her entire estate to her son and grandson because she fears leaving her wealth to you will end up in her former best friend's hand." I explained, chuckling at the surprise in his eyes.
"Oh did you actually think she's going to die before you and leave it all to that," pausing, I scratch the back of my head, "oh, yeah, I remember her exact words now," laughing, I stoop in front of grandfather, "your grandfather's bastard son and their whores." Grandfather felt no remorse at my words, as his gaze grows cold and hard, his hatred, clearing evident.
"Now down to business," I continued staring calmly at cold exterior.
