Sitting on the rocking chair, staring around the nursery, wondering what is missing and what else is available in the stores that could fit in this room that's just as huge as the bedroom, Logan and I occupy.
I've never wanted to use Logan's wealth until my shopping spree online. Even though it started out with impatience and anger, I don't regret it one bit and apparently, neither does my husband.
I know my salary could never have afford all this but for the first time in my life, I didn't mind splurging, because IT'S MY BABY!
It's been more than an hour since mom and dad, along with Jer and Gwen left for the Fall Fashion Show and here I am still alone.
Logan promised to remain with me but as usual, he's MIA and I don't have my laptop close by to see what's happening around the compound.
As I was about to get off the rocking chair to retrieve the laptop in my room, the scent of hot pizza reached my nostrils before I actually saw it and I sat back to wait for Mrs. Stanley, who remain with me at the Castle.
Curling my lips downwards, my eyes widen in surprise because Logan was the last person I expected to see coming in, trying to balance a large pizza in one hand and a tray with two large drinks fitted on it, in the other.
Chuckling as he came towards me, "it's a good thing you left the door open," he laughs, stretching out the drink tray towards me, but I grabbed the large pizza box instead, with a wide grin.
"Thank you," I opened the pizza box while Logan adjusts himself on the floor in front of me.
Tilting my head towards one of the chairs in the corner of the room, that's been conveniently placed for mom and Mrs. Stanley. "There's a chair over there," I tell him but he ignored me and placing the drinks on the floor, handed me a some napkins.
Inhaling the pizza from Logan's and now my favourite Italian Restaurant, smiling in contentment while Logan spoke.
"I got it all vegetarian," he explains and I know why but I didn't mind because I'm just happy, he's here to spend a moment of his time with me.
We ate in silence and I didn't try to break it, even though there's so much I need to ask him but every time we discuss things pertaining to what's going on at the Castle, we end up at odds, so I just rely on the one eyed monster on my laptop.
"Do we have everything that's needed for the baby's arrival?" Logan the first to break the silence asked.
Lifting my eyes to see him trying to find the end of the long line of cheese as he takes another slice of pizza from the already half eaten box.
Lifting my head thoughtfully, I followed his gaze around the room, already aware that we have everything a baby could possibly need and even, more.
Averting my eyes back to him, "there's something we still need," I said softly, smiling as our eyes met.
Flickering his raised eyebrows, he looks at me with interest.
"A baby name," I told him, with the same smile, I see him go from confused then nods in acknowledgement as he realizes that's something we never really agreed on.
"Right," he agreed, frowning at me. "Have you given thought to names yet ?" He asked curiously and I nod then just a quickly, shook my head.
I have had so many names running through my head, I kept shoving them aside because none of them, wowed my heart.
So, for the next hour Logan and I went through a series of names, going back and forth, which only ended up as a fun thing, because nothing stuck.
I couldn't help noticing his eyes flickering to the Rolex on his wrist which make the game of selecting a name for our baby, dull.
With the empty pizza box in my hand, I move to get of the rocker, struggling a bit.
Logan was quick, getting on his feet to help me up, "where're you going?" He frowns, "the bathroom?" He added before I could respond.
Shaking my head, the joy of spending almost two hours with my husband, slowly evaporating.
"Hey," Logan turned me to face him as I stood in front him, "what's wrong?" He asked because I couldn't hide the sadness I felt when the fleeting moments of happiness, spending time in his presence, ends.
Shaking my head again because if I were to tell him how I feel, he would feel guilty or get impatient because of how needy I've become.
"Jamie!" Holding my arm tightly in his grip, when I tried to move past him.
"Talk to me," he insisted, placing his fingers under my chin so he can look into my eyes.
Averting my eyes downwards, I shrug, "I have..." stammering, I paused, smiling up at him once again. Indication the Rolex, "I notice you kept checking the time," I shrugged again, staring at his chest, which is my eye level. "I.." pausing for a deep breath, "I don't want to keep you back," even though I said it, I still don't feel the boldness.
Chuckling, he pulled me against his chest, "I have nothing to do and nowhere to be," he insisted, putting a finger on my lips when I started to protest.
"I am waiting on a call from someone to send me a video of the fashion show," he explained calmly, kissing the top of my head.
Wriggling my nose, I smiled in embarrassment, "I'm sorry," apologizing, remembering this is the first grand show his family is putting on since our accident and the first one, he isn't a part off, in years.
"I'm sorry you miss it," hugging him back, "it's the first one you're missing because you're stuck babysitting me."
