Chapter 197 - CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND NINETY SIX

Jerome's eyes kept going back and forth as I paced in front of him in frustration.

Since I was found unconscious in the garden, I've been under bedroom arrest with only my brother, my mother-in-law and Mrs. Stanley allowed near me.

Even Gwen has been barred from coming anywhere near me by Logan but I know she had nothing to do with me being out in the garden, my gut tells me that but yet still, even my brother is unwilling to disobey my husband.

"I need to speak to Gwen!" I demanded harshly for the hundredth time but Jer's stone cold expression confirms that I am barking up the wrong tree.

Clenching my fists, I glared at him, "if you're pushing her away because of my paranoid husband then I promise you, it's the biggest mistake of your life!" I yelled, wishing I could do more than yell at him.

Jer didn't even flinch at my outburst, as he stared at the television screen staring straight ahead.

"Are you?" I asked suddenly, "are you pushing her away?" I moved closer to where my brother still sat as if he's frozen.

When Jer didn't answer, I sat clumsily in the sofa opposite him, "talk to me please," I finally stopped yelling and pleaded with him.

Jer still didn't respond, staring at the television screen, expression no emotion.

"Don't allow the best thing that's happen in your life since sixth grade, leave you because your're too stubborn to look beyond Logan." I advised him softly but still he sat unmovable opposite me.

Eyeing his phone that he casually left on the counter that's used as part of my mini kitchen in this exquisite prison, I find myself locked in, I slowly got up and walked away.

"I need to use the bathroom, again" I threw over my shoulder by my stubborn brother didn't even respond.

Grabbing his phone I walked towards the massive bathroom the three of the bedrooms at the Cabin would have fit in.

Scrolling through his phone, I frowned angrily at the hundred plus miss calls from Gwen's phone to Jer.

Gwen answered her phone in half a ring, as if she was willing her Jer to call her.

"Jer, what's going on?" She answered and without waiting for my response. "Why am I locked in?" She cried but I had to cut in to let her know it's me and not my f**king brother.

"Gwen, it's me" I answered quickly before she could utter another word.

"Jamie?" She said softly, her voice breaking up as she begins to weep on the other end.

"Gwen listen to me, I have no idea what is going on and I haven't spoken to Logan but I will get to the bottom of this," I promise, whispering so Jer doesn't hear me on the phone.

"They blame me for what happened to you," Gwen responds as if she's already accepted her fate.

Fuming, "they blame me, for what happened to me." I retorted, "I am also locked in my room," I shared, for what it's worth.

"Really?" Gwen exclaimed, surprised by my confession.

"I stole Jer's phone to call you so I gotta go before he breaks the bathroom door down, to see what I'm up to," I chuckle.

"Okay," Gwen agrees. "Can't we talk online" she suggests and I quickly give her my skype ID before hanging up.

Deleting Gwen's call from Jer's phone, I flushed the toilet after using it, exiting the washroom after washing my hands with Jer's phone hidden under my arm.

The as**ole still at in the same position where I left him, brooding absentmindedly at the television.

Placing his phone quietly on the table, I moved to Logan's desk to retrieve my lap, anxious to start gossiping with someone other than myself.

"Are you going to tell Gray about your phone call or should I?" Jer asks his eyes still staring straight ahead.

Stopping, clutching my laptop against my chest, positive I did not imagine Jer threatening me.

"Are you speaking to me?" I asked, set to ignore him, my mind now at ease having spoken to Gwen.

I was already making myself comfortable, folding a blanket to hold my laptop in place, when I remembered the charger, that's miles away on the desk.

Groaning, I stared longingly at it.

"Make yourself useful and get me my charger over there." I yelled rudely to my brother.

The television was switched off immediately with Jer turning to pounce on me. His eye cold and hard as he glares back at me.

Ignoring his coldness and anger, I point the desk, where the charger laid, with my hand outstretched.

Realizing it's either he argue with me or just get me the charger and be done with it, Jer retrieve the laptop charger and stretches it out to me.

Without saying a word, I point to the outlet for him to plug it in and smiled sweetly when he's done.

"You can lock me in from the outside on your way out," I instructed him, meeting his shocked expression with the same calm and sweet smile.

Realising I'm dismissing him, Jer turns quietly on his heels, grabs his phone from the counter and walks away.

"I love you, still" I yelled to his retreating back, looking away to focus on opening my laptop to Skype and find something constructive to read.

Jer didn't immediately leave but I did not look up at him either because as much as I love him, I don't support the way he's treating Gwen.

As is normal when I power on, the frist pages to pop up are news related since I often keep dated with the news on my laptop.

The headline that immediately spoke out to me, ENTERPERNEUR ANDREW LAWRENCE, SHIPPING MOGUL'S DAUGHTER HAS BEEN FOUND ALIVE!

"F**K!"

I quickly read the article, which doesn't say much except that Angela Lawrence was found hurt but thankfully alive!

LOGAN!
