Wringing my hands nervously awaiting Logan!
I couldn't have done apologize to Jer for being angry with him yesterday! I should've known, I should've known but, still I choose to behave like a spoilt brat when he wouldn't allow me to call Jessica.
Logan wants us to leave and I know we need to for now but this is my home and I am not leaving it for good. I must visit here after the baby, hopefully.
Gwen was helping to stuff the clothes we were taking into bags, until we send for more items, although Jer insists Logan would go shopping.
Smiling at the thought of my brother whose getting addicted to the big life. I hope when Logan starts giving him an allowance, he won't get spoilt, like his nemesis.
"You want this?" Gwen stands in front the closet with a shirt in her hand.
Shaking my head, "let's only take what I use but pack most of Logan's clothes," I said when I heard a slight knock on the door.
Logan won't knock.
"It's open," I yelled.
Mrs. Stanley walked in with a bright smile.
Frowning, "you're done packing?" Gwen asks curiously.
Nodding, "yes," Mrs. Stanley admitted, "I've come to pack for Logan and you can go pack what you urgently need, the balance, we will send for." Mrs. Stanley instructs Gwen with a soft smile on her lips, her face radiant like when I first met her.
"Okay," Gwen agreed, but from the hurt in her eyes, I know she was offended with Mrs. Stanley coming in to pack Logan's stuff.
Patting her shoulder lightly as she passed in front of her, "don't worry, Logan didn't send me," she tells Gwen, "I have nothing to pack until Fran gets here so you could start on your own and I also need to speak to Jamie." Mrs. Stanley admitted, drawing a slight smile out of Gwen.
When Gwen left, I spoke first, "where's Logan?" I asked quickly, still wondering why he isn't here yet.
Smiling slyly with a humming sound, "hmm.." she gives me suspicious look. "He's helping load the baby furniture for the nursery," staring at me from lowered lashes.
"Oh!" Blushing from embarrassment, "I'm sorry, I wanted it to be a surprise," I admitted. "Do you think Logan likes it?" I asked nervously although I know he would say yes, I wanted to see his first reaction to it.
Moving towards the closet, Mrs. Stanley starts unhooking Logan's clothes from the hangers and folding them neatly to put in the bags provided.
With her back turned to me, "well he did wipe his eyes but I guess we'll have to see how it looks when the nursery is decorated." She continued packing as she spoke but she reminded me of my mother's boxes that I was already sorting out.
"I need to make a call," I said to myself and quickly dialed Whiz's number.
"Yes boss, we're moving stock from the garage first," he laughs at being on target about my call.
My second biggest concern was my mother's boxes, "and the boxes on the table?" I asked only to hear his light chuckles.
"Already packed," he confirmed amidst the chatter around him with the guys packing to leave the lake which has been our home for the past few months.
Did Jessica win again?
She's causing us to uproot and I know Logan's doing this because of his family's safety and the Castle is by far the safest place for us, especially if Mr. Daniels still believe the cops are in charge of the compound.
I didn't see Logan until I hobbled to his vehicle along with Mrs. Stanley and Justin, while Jer and Gwen opted to wait for mom and dad.
Logan ensured our room and his parents room to be kept closed, while the other rooms would be available for those who remained on the compound.
"Are they still lurking around?" I broke the silence in the vehicle but I knew it's a question on everyone's mind.
Logan and Justin exchanged a smirk before Logan smiled at me, making eye contact through the rearview mirror.
"No, the guys out front confirm that after getting shut down from coming further inside, they left but they are going to return." Logan admits, his hands clenching the steering wheel, twitching the corners of his mouth.
"And you're going to be here when they do." I didn't ask, I just knew.
Justin burst out in a fit of laughter, slapping Logan on his shoulder, causing Mrs. Stanley to rebuke him for disturbing the driver.
Lifting his hands in surrender to Mrs. Stanley, "sorry," he apologizes even though he didn't seem to mean it.
"Just ensure I can find you when it is time to have the baby," I warned him, smiling when he send me a wink.
Logan didn't mention the items in the garage and I won't bring it up now so I turned to Justin.
"Are you bringing Amy and Tina with you?" I asked making conversation and definitely curious.
Rocking his head back and forth light, Justin shrugs. "I haven't given it much thought," he admitted but the least we can do is extend an invitation for his family.
Mrs. Stanley spoke first excited for the short journey home, "the Castle is the safest place as you know, so when you guys are done doing your watchman thing, I'm sure Logan will allow you to chose where you want to stay on the compound.
I have only been to the Castle once and I didn't see much except Logan's man cave.
"Plus there's always Logan's man cave," I volunteered sending a smug smile to Logan.
Shaking his head, "no f**king way," he instantly shuts that idea down. "That's my son's playroom." He chuckles and turns to Justin. "Choose another building on the compound." Logan suggests to Justin, cheerfully but I can see through all the banter, they're scoping out the village thoroughly!
