Chapter 160 - CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY

Leaving dad to return with Robert. I hitched a ride with one of the guys Jerome's travelling with, but all I could think about, was how easy it was to find out where Amy and Justina was.

All grandmother had to do was give the command for me to investigate the children and grandchildren of my grandfather and he folded, giving us Justin's family with a promise to never touch them again and without discussing Angela Lawrence's.

It was too f**king easy. Grandfather's losing it in old age.

He's afraid for the kids he fathered with his mistress and if I had persisted, grandmother's call would have been so different.

After making a date to meet grandmother later this evening I was heading home to my wife, but my mind was on the meeting with grandmother and what it entailed.

She knows I'm not giving up on Jamie and if she wants to keep me on her side, all she has to accept my wife and my unborn child as her great grandchild, unlike grandfather, whose still intent on fighting me all the way.

If Angela Lawrence doesn't know anything, as she claims she doesn't, then it's down grandfather and something he alone knows.

Maybe I should start investigating in another direction. Something is not adding up here, but it is here and apparently in my face.

Why did grandpa fold when his other family was mentioned?

"We are looking in the wrong places and the wrong people, which is why we keep coming up with nothing." I said, sitting up.

Turning around to face me, from where he sat in the front passenger seat, "what the f**k are you on now?" Patrick, aka Coil asks, with a tired expression.

Sitting up straight, "there is a reason for us not finding a link to grandfather and the persons who has him in a deathlock." I continued as if no one interrupted me.

I need to think this out and I cannot do this at home, I cannot figure this out with Jamie around, because she's distracting and whatever is bothering mom, who will add to my distraction.

"Make a detour, but not at Papa's" I said leaning back, with Jerome sitting quietly beside me and not asking a single question.

With my eyes closed, I left Coil to find a place where I could find the peace an quiet to think and drink.

"Jamie will be waiting for us. Jerome says quietly beside me.

Yes my wife and my mother along with my father will be waiting for me, but I won't get to breathe there.

And I need to breathe.

I need to think.

Instead of responding to Jerome and upsetting him with my answer, I choose to remain silent and ignore him.

Sensing my desire to avoid this topic, Jerome remained silent, leaving me to my thoughts.

My mind already running ahead, of the persons in grandfather's circle who has a hold on him?

The only person grandfather is afraid of, is his mistress, although he knows grandmother is more dangerous between the two, he only trusts grandmother.

There has to be a connection, between them and I intend to find out.

First on the list, whose connected to grandfather's mistress that's on my radar?

It has to be connected to me, because I am the only heir of the Daniels family, including my unborn child.

"We're here" Coil sings and I opened my eyes to see the vehicle parked in front of a diner, that's opened all night.

"Do they sell alcohol here?" I asked, eyeing the diner with scorn, as we walked closer to it, not because it was broken down, but because It only smelt like food.

Throwing a hand over my shoulder, "the burgers here are amazing, when your're hungry." Coil chuckles while Jerome mutters while passing me to enter the diner.

"Told you we should have gone home." He said, opening the door to walk through.

Glaring at Jerome's back, because he's the one who didn't want to come in here, but he's the first to enter.

As I walked in after Jerome followed by Coil and three other guys, I realize why Jerome went in first as I saw him hugging employees of the joint, one after the other.

Ignoring him and his friends, I slid behind a table for some peace and quiet until I heard a guy from another booth ahead of me, call out Jerome.

"Hey, Jer Jer" the young man about Jerome's age called out to him and slid out of his seat, before walking up to him and gaving him a bro hug.

"Clyde" Jerome acknowledges the guy, with a genuinely happy glow. "I'm great and you?" Jerome asks politely and I continue to watch him interact with kids his age, my thoughts trailing off to what Jamie and I took him from.

"How's that hot sister of yours?" the guy name Clyde asked and I looked up curious at this point of the conversation.

Looking back until his eyes met mines, Jerome smiles apologetically, "uh, well she's happily married with a baby on the way." Jerome informs Clyde whose smile instantly dropped.

It wasn't surprise that mask Clyde's face, but disappointment, "serious man?" He asks, "I always thought I had a chance with her if I gave her time." Clyde continued and I wonder what he meant by giving her time.

Chuckling, "well her husband didn't waste anytime, nor did he give her time, proposing and marrying six months after meeting her." Jerome laughs and I know that he's aware that I am listening.

Now I can't wait to get home, to find out about this f**king Clyde.

"Who is she married to?" Clyde asks, his eyes confused and Jerome turns around to face me with a smirk, before pointing to me.

The motherf**ker!

Clyde give me a confused look, frowning as I'd he recognized me, or he was trying to make me out from somewhere.
