I didn't get around to asking Logan about Angela Lawrence missing, in fact my father-in- law beat me to it at dinner.
I feigned eating, in order to focus on Logans reaction and if he's lying about not being aware that she's missing, then he's a darn good actor.
Frowning at his dad, "are you sure she's missing, or is this one of grandfather's ploy to draw us out?" He asks his dad sarcastically," digging into his beef, shrugging his father's comments off.
I slapped his thigh under the table to get his attention.
Looking up from the plate in front of him, "what?" He asked innocently, but for me he, was definitely faking it.
Narrowing my eyes, I glared at him, "your father is trying to share something important with you" I informed him dryly, "you could give him an ear and maybe help find her?" I suggested, blinking my eyes,
Ignoring me Logan turned to him father, "can we have this discussion after I have digested my dinner" he asks, shaking his head in disgust, before attacking his beef again.
The table remained silent, except for mom's soft chuckles and dad shooting daggers in her direction.
I couldn't help it and I started to laugh softly, meeting mom's smile.
Without saying a word, Logan gets up from the table, with his plate and glass in hand, frowning impatiently at mom and I.
"One family meal. One f**king meal together and no peace," he says nodding to dad. "Let's finish this outside." Logan invites his father and walks out towards the side door, to the outside table.
Logan's bluffing and he isn't fooling me!
Mom looks up at dad, who followed his son outside, then turn to me, "don't worry, they need to speak in private" she says, her smile slowly leaving her face.
I had to know mom's thoughts on Angela Lawrence disappearance, "do you think they know where she is or what happened?" I ask mom and she quickly shakes her head.
"No, no Jamie. They don't. Francis was shocked and very disturb when his father called him." Mom was quick to say in her husband's and son's defence.
"Okay" I answered, but I still had this nagging feeling and even if dad knew nothing, I can't put my head on a block for Logan.
Logan and his dad were still outside when we were done with dinner. Justin left with three shot glasses and a bottle of vodka, before joining the guys outside, leaving us to clean up.
Actually, leaving Gwen and Mrs. Stanley to clean up the kitchen, which they insisted they do.
Even though I was able to, Jer insisted he escorted me to my bedroom.
I hugged mom, who had already placed a bottle of wine on the kitchen table, for herself and Mrs. Stanley.
Envious because I cannot join them, but happy that I am pregnant.
"Don't give Gray a hard time with the Lawrence girl whose missing." Jer said as we entered my bedroom.
I looked up giving him an accusing glare, "you're the one who planted the doubts in my mind," I shoved his waist. "I don't believe you," I kept grumbling as I stood up and headed for the bathroom.
Jer was sitting on my chair when I returned from using the washroom, but I ignored him, because I was still angry at him.
"I'm sorry, I don't know what I was thinking," Jer says, giving me a regretful smile. "I allowed that bitch words to affect me." He continued, getting angry now. "You know what you should do?" He asks and I shook my head, confused.
"You should give her another call and give her a fake location and find out if, Logan knew you called her." Jer was suggesting but he was definitely angry.
Surprised at his suggestion, but I should give her a call to make my running away, real.
"Okay, so can we do that now?" I wondered, holding my bump and walking towards my bed.
Instead of answering me, Jer burst out laughing, with his eyes watering up.
Confused, "what now?" I frowned at him.
Shaking his head, "the way you walk and held your belly, it just looked so funny," he said, sobering up at my angry glare.
I stopped to slap him on his forehead, once, then another time.
"Your niece of nephew will know about you mocking them." I threatened him.
"Sorry, sorry" he got off the chair to hug me.
"Let's go make that call now." I whispered in his ear, just you and I" I tell him and he looked at me suspiciously.
"You're not saying anything to Gray?" Jer seemed nervous now.
Shaking my head, "I will tell him, but after." I admitted, but Jer knows me well. Once I decide to do something, I do it on my terms. "Plus he's probably drunk now, so just tell mom, you and I, are going for a stroll and we pay Whiz a visit." I instructed him.
"Jamie," Jer started, sounding doubtful.
"Jerome!" I responded, giving him a determined look.
Lifting his two hands in surrender, Jer gives me one last look before walking out my bedroom to tell mom about our whereabouts.
Logan won't worry, once Jer is with me.
Grabbing a blanket, to wrap around me, I left my phone on the bed, so Logan won't call if I am on the phone with Jess.
Jess!
"What do I tell her and where did I run off too?
Ohio! Yes I took a Greyhound to Ohio, but I am in the process of leaving soon. That's a good answer.
Jer returned with two bottle waters and something wrapped in a napkin, with a doubtful look.
Wrapping myself with the blanket, I headed towards the backdoor with Jer following reluctantly following me with a lower pace.
"So did anyone have a problem with you and I taking a casual stroll on the compound?"I turned to Jer.
