"What the f***, Logan?" dad shouts at Logan, as we sat hurdle together on a sofa, wrapped in one blanket.
Opening my eyes, dad stood angry in front on us, his clenched fists dropping to his side. If I wasn't there, he would have already punched Logan.
I did this and I'm not letting my husband go down for my choice, but I sure as f***, ain't surrendering easily.
"What happened?" I asked innocently, glancing between, an angry father and a sleepy son.
Facing me, dad was extremely furious. He didn't try to pretend otherwise because I was there.
"Ask your husband" dad points accusing fingers at Logan, who tries to sit up, helping me also, "where he went last night and what he did.?" Dad continues, while some of Logan guys, stood on the side looking on. Cameron stood with a coffee mug to his lips, with a smirk.
Feigning innocence, "you mean our date night to Paris?" I continued innocently, slapping Logan's arm. "I told you it was to extravagant," I slapped his arm again. "We're already married, you no longer have to impress me with what life with you could be." I turned with an apologetic smile to my father-in-law. He stared at us in surprised.
Finally sitting down, "Paris? Date night?" he asks confused. His head hanging low staring downwards.
Logan looks across to me, "so now that you can talk, what happened last night while I was romancing my wife?" Logan asks his father.
Lifting his head, staring at the both of us, "someone attacked a mutual enemy of your grandfather and Angelo." Dad explains and the only part that registered so far is enemy of Logan's grandfather.
Where the hell did Logan go last night? His arms tightens around my waist and I know that it was to only calm the thoughts he already know, is raging in my head.
"Enemy?" I asked instead. Trying to stand, I turn to Logan, "what enemy? What is going on and who is Angelo?" I asked all these questions, quickly.
Dad spun around to see some of the guys loitering around, "don't just f***** stand there! Go get some coffee and" pausing, dad spoke to me, "what do you want sweetheart?" He asks politely. I shook my head declining a drink because all that I am interested in, is answers and a solution to this mess we have found ourselves in.
"Bring my granddaughter's mother a chocolate tea." He orders, waving them off with his hand.
Logan tugs me closer and I look at him to see his encouraging smile.
"So dad" Logan turned to his father, "who attacked who, now?" My husband asks his father who is still thrown off with what happened last night.
"Your grandfather called a short while ago, after receiving a frantic message from a worker at Sterns warehouse in Germany. About eight men or so, ambushed them and they have lost millions of dollars worth of stock that belongs to their clients." Dad explained, sounding nervous, whereas, my husband just shrugs it off.
"Well at least they have to deal with someone other than us." Logan commented casually.
Shaking his head, "now this will bring us back into the fold with dad." My father-in-laws explains. I frown, because what Logan did last night was suppose to separate us from them.
Chuckling dryly, "I don't think it's like that." Logan tells his dad as one of guys, brought a tray with two coffees and one chocolate tea.
"Mrs. Stanley prepared it for you." the guy smiled and I nodded.
"Thank you" I muttered, taking a small sip to ensure Mrs. Stanley made the tea, twisting my lips in disgust. Logan who sat observing me, took the cup from my hand.
"Jap" Logan calls the guy, who bought the tea. "who gave this to you?" Logan asks.
Jap, frowns, twitching his lips, "the new girl, but she said Mrs. Stanley prepared it." Jap explains.
Handing the cup back to him, "have Whiz test this." Logan instructs firmly and turn to dad, "Jamie brought that girl here and I can't sent her away, because she could expose our base. Now I have an extra problem on my hand." Logan shook his head in disgust.
Nodding, while dad, emptied his coffee mug, "yes, your mother mentioned it to me. If she tampered with Jamie's tea, I will destroy her myself." Dad threatens.
Shaking my head, "no, no. We are not destroying anyone. I will deal with her, my way." I stood up, "my late night is taking a toll on me." I said and walked into the bedroom, breathing a sigh of relief. We pulled it off.
I used the bathroom and sat on the chair in the bathroom, to pick up Logan's clothes he laid on the floor.
Blood! Blood!
I got up and immediately walk back out to see dad leaving, "see you later Jamie, enjoy your rest." Dad chuckles, walking away.
When I met Logan's eyes I didn't hide my fear and Logan realized that.
"Jamie," he follows my eyes down to his abdomen, afraid, my lips quivering, my face starts to crumple.
"I did this." I cried, walking back inside, waiting for Logan to follow me in.
"Let me see." I asked trying to lift his T-shirt, as he walks in, but he holds my hand,
"Jamie" Logan starts again.
"Justin, where's Justin?" I asked cutting him off once again.
Logan lifted his Jersey and I saw the small dressing. I don't understand how I missed it earlier.
My hands reached out to touch his side and I lift questioning eyes to him.
Holding the hand I was touching him with, he led me to the bed where we both laid down. "Justin and I got caught up in a crossfire and we both got hurt." Logan quickly explains, "and he's staying with the guys. We arrived back late because we had to seek medical attention and we are both fine." Logan chuckle at my worried expression.
