I calmly stood up hearing footsteps rustling on the grass, sighing, "she's not responsible for putting me on that," I point to the chair she just indicated. "She is responsible however, for sending someone on the compound, someone who pushed me into that water to drown me" I calmly stood facing her, pointing to the dark lake.
Her eyes flicked from the water to me, taking a short breath, "what are you talking about?" she stares at the dark water in disbelief.
Realizing that Gwen's just being used, I still need to warn her. "Just so you know the man she sent, threw me into the water. Now, he's dead." I continued calmly. "And so will the next person she sends." I sat down, "now sit, let's eat." I invited her.
Warm broad hands lands on my shoulders, giving it a tight squeeze. Logan kisses me on the head, then crosses the bench, placing a hand behind my back, "you okay, or you want the chair?" he leans closer, caressing my back.
Resting my head on his shoulder, "with you next to me, I'm safe." I smile, but when our eyes met, I realized that Logan's blue eyes with extra dark and deep with concern. I know he overheard Gwen and my discussion but I want to help her if I could. Palming one side of his face, I kissed him.
"Hey, come on guys we are going to eat." Justin says and when I met his eyes he gave me a disgusted look.
Logan knows his best friend so well, "ignore him" he mutters, kissing me again.
I look around the table to see that Jer is noticeably absent, but I don't want to bring it up, so I ignore it and waited patiently for my husband to dish out my food, because I am suddenly famished.
I looked at mom with a smile, "you got a lot done today didn't you?" I asked because I haven't see her since breakfast.
Chuckling, she smiles "and I am going to work into the night because your father-in-law isn't here to keep me back." she chuckles and my husband's face crumples into a disgusted look.
"Seriously mom?' he asks.
"You should complain cheesecake lover?" Logan's dad chuckles behind us, as Justin moves for him to sit beside his wife and Jer who came in with him sits at the head of the table.
Laughing softly, "well mom, I guess you will not be drawing into the night." Jer added to annoyed Logan more.
"Jerome man, we are eating here." Logan complained.
Jerome chuckles at Logan's discomfort, "Come on Grey, after you, cheesecake and my sister, man, you should be the last one to complain." he laughs.
Glancing at Jer and then at Logan, "why does he call you Grey?" Cameron asks, sipping a beer.
Jer, Logan and I looked at each other and I refused to take part in that conversation, so I tackled my dinner instead.
Chuckling, Logan turns to Jer, "well Jerome, the ball is in your court since you were the silent observer through it all." Logan tells.
When Jer was finishing his story, Cameron was laughing so loud, his voice echoed in the darkness, "Jamie, I would love to see those photos of my bestfriend, the famous model." Cameron continues. "You really fell hard my friend" Cameron commented, smiling now at Logan. Is he admiring the fact that Logan fell in love or that he became Mr. Grey in order to meet me.
Chuckling, Logan puts a hand around my waist, pulling me closer, "man, when I saw her at the wedding, believe me when I tell you this, she was more captivating than the bride. I couldn't keep my eyes off her and I followed her around, but she did not pay any attention to me" Logan admits, kissing my head.
Justin join in the fun, "but she did admit that you were hot when you walked in," Justin reminded him.
"Yes and he roped his mother and I in, so that he could meet her." Dad said, lifting a hand to high five his son. "Nice going son, I'm proud of you." he admits, before kissing his wife, who hugs him.
The conversation around the table was light, but I kept glancing at Jer and Gwen who kept stealing quick glances at him with a sad smile, but Jer ignored her during the entire dinner.
Gwen's room is not ready yet and I was hoping that she stayed with Jer, but that's not happening now. Jer already had a solution to that problem, which he explained when he came to kiss me goodnight, since he would be sleeping with the guys tonight until the adjourning room to the cabin is completed.
The guys cleaned up after dinner while Mrs. Stanley, Gwen, mom and I stayed outside in the cool of the night enjoying the light breeze.
Mom turned to Gwen, "so what is my house like right now?" mom asks quietly and I felt sad because she left her home and I still blame myself even if she tell me that I shouldn't.
Shrugging her shoulders, "Well it's the same, except..." she stops, to look at me.
Mom, followed her gaze, "except what?" mom prompted for her to continue.
Gwen looks uncomfortable, her eyes downcast.
Mom, was more curious now because of Gwen behaviour.
"Except what?" Mom persisted and I was also intrigued but my gut told me, Jess is involved.
Sighing, Gwen lifted her head, "well for starters, Mrs. Daniels moved in, with three other guests. A couple and their daughter." Gwen explains. Angela and her parents are living at the mansion.
Nodding, "okay " mom responds, "what else?" mom continues probing. I don't disagree since it's her house.
Shaking her head confused, "listening to your conversation here, I am at a loss as to what is going on, but I believe that Mrs. Daniels is grooming both Jessica and Angela to replace her, alongside...."
