JAMIE'S POV
Mom asked me to work with her on her designs, since I showed some potential at some shoot where I changed some of dad's styles or colors on different models. Even though I worked with her, at the end of the day, I knew, this wasn't for me.
I was studying Economics at school and it's in that field I would have continued, so without Logan's knowledge, I signed up for online classes and I got accepted, by my professor. YAY!
I haven't said anything to anyone yet, because I want to surprise Logan first. Checking the time again, realizing it's late and he's not home yet. I am worried but I know that he is with Justin and his dad.
Being downstairs is a plus for me because I am no longer dependant on anyone to stay around and be at my beck and call.
I saw men camping out on the grounds earlier this afternoon while I showed mom around realizing she was just as nervous and concern but never showed fear, even if she didn't grow up in this life.
The space downstairs in the cabin was vast, because there were no walls, separating the living and the dining room. There were three sofa sets plus a love seat that all came out of storage. Only the kitchen had a door way, but Jer and I still found places to hide when we were kids and when Grams wanted to put a spanking on us.
I was in my chair at the kitchen table nibbling on cookies when I heard the door slam shut before I heard Logan swearing, loudly and my name was coming out of his mouth. What did I do now?
Logan walked past the kitchen storming towards our room, as Justin walked into the kitchen, eyes open wide, when he saw me he begins to laugh, taking a beer out of the refrigerator.
"Jamie! Jamie!" Logan shouts, before I heard footsteps coming towards the kitchen where Justin stood with a ridiculous smirk on his ridiculous handsome face.
Still angry, Logan stops in front of Justin, following his gaze before he storms towards me. I instinctively close my laptop not willing for him to see what I was doing with him being angry at me right now.
Logan slammed some papers down in front of me angrily, "call Jerome!" he barked at Justin, who shrugged his shoulders to get Jer.
Apparently Jer and I are in trouble with Logan.
Wheeling myself toward the stove, where I left dinner for Logan and Justin, "are you ready for dinner?" I asked instead, turning to look at him when he didn't answer.
Running his hand through his hair, a habit he has when he is angry or frustrated. "I've had a long f***ing day, please don't make it worst." Logan responded angrily.
Spinning the chair around to face him matching his mood, "what the hell is your problem?" I shout at him. He's always in a mood and I'm the one who keeps it all in. "If you have a problem with me, then just tell me, but don't you dare go shouting at me. Yeah I am just idle all day long, dancing and singing but do you hear me complaining?" I paused, watching his eyes widen in surprise, his tense shoulders started to slouch as the anger he was holding on too, started subsiding.
"Jamie lis..." Logan started walking towards me,
Cutting him across, I instinctively roll my chair back causing Logan to stop and gave me an apologetic look. "No, not today" I shifted the chair and started to wheel myself out of the kitchen,.
"Jamie," Logan called, but I ignored him as I wheeled myself out of the kitchen before remembering my phone and my laptop. Jer and Justin were walking into the kitchen as I turned to retrieve my phone and laptop, taking them up and putting it on my lap, before going to my room.
"There's dinner on the stove" I shout over my shoulder.
"What the f**k did you do?" I heard Justin yell my bedroom door closed.
Stopping in front of the desk in the room, putting my laptop away, out of Logan's sight because suddenly, I don't feel like sharing my good news with him.
I took a blanket, and quietly left the cabin through the convenient back door and wheeled myself out to the lake. I smiled from where I sat in the distance, with only a halfmoon reflection over the dark waters,
Happy memories, flooded my mind and I smile, remembering the fun we had as a family, dad, mom, Jer and I and then Jess came along.
With my mind on Jess, I wonder where she is at and what she's doing. Is she missing Jer and I as much as we miss her? I miss her and love her! Judge Delano didn't call to say what was happening but maybe it's best that I don't know, yet!
I know Jer and I thought that maybe we should just let Jess's reputation go down just as our relationship but she is my sister so I will do what I have to protect her.
I sat in silence, not thinking, just breathing when the rustling of the grass, alerted me that someone was there.
I spun the chair spun around as a man in stood in the darkness in front of me, his face just outline by the dark shadows of the night.
Moving forward, I automatically, reverse my chair, "are you okay ma'am?" the man in the shadows asked.
Afraid, I simply nodded. This is Logan's employee, I don't need to be afraid. I thought.
"Are you scared?" the man asked, looking at the water behind me. "Do you want me to get you closer to the lake?" he asked dryly.
Nervous, wishing someone would miss me, because I am afraid. "I'm good thanks" I said, "you can go back to your job" I told the man, who started walking closer.
Afraid, "who are you and what do you want with me?" I shout, hoping someone will hear me.
