Kayleigh's POV
As the sun rays fell on my face I pulled up my blanket up to my head to sleep a little more but the sweet melody of cries woke me up. I got out of bed and walked in to the adjoining room, I pushed open the door and looked around taking the surroundings in- the beautiful painting of jungle book themed room feels refreshing to me every single day. There was my beautiful baby girl, trying to stand holding the rails of her crib. I picked her up in my arms and took her to the basinet and changed her diaper. After that I prepared baby food to feed her, by the time I started feeding her my roommate walked out of her room yawning, "Good morning" I looked at Haley and cooed her, "Look who is finally awake? yes, it is your aunt Sammy". She giggled while Sam pecked on Haley's cheek and wished me, "Morning" She walked in the kitchen and poured us both coffee. I smiled at her thankfully and took a sip from my coffee. After I came back from LA, I moved in with Sam, even changed my job. I tried very hard to forget but every day it felt so fresh like it just happened yesterday. Sam and Daniel were the only people I hung around with, I was glad they didn't ask me any questions about that night. When I found out I was pregnant with Haley, they stood by me like a rock and supported me with the decision I took to give birth to my child. Daniel once suggested that I should let Edward know about the baby claiming 'he has a right to know' that was what he said but I was too terrified to tell him.
For people in New York I was just a middle class woman, working hard to make the ends meet. I wanted to be financially capable to raise Haley on my own so I refused any help from my parents, even Sam and Daniel are not aware that my father is the biggest jewellery tycoon in the USA. I took up another job where I earn enough to pay the bills and save some for Haley's school, before giving birth to Haley we came up to a conclusion that we will raise Haley on our own without any Nanny so me, Sam and Daniel started working in alternate shifts so at least anyone of us is around to look after her. Sam still works with the same magazine company, while I took up a job at call centre. This job has multiple perks, I don't have to talk with my colleagues apart from break so people barely know me, my job here is to just do my part for 10 hours and I don't have to take my work home or stress about it plus I get to work in shifts. My parents often keep on insisting that I move back and stop running away from my fortune but I am so not ready to give in to the life where everyone is just mean and cold to me. I have not dated or had time to date since the time I found out I am pregnant, my mother did try to set me up with one of her friend's son but I didn't want my child to be fathered by some stranger, so I shut that down hard; besides it is 21st century where you can freely be a single parent. Daniel and I agree on that but Sam doesn't so tries to introduce me to people but it doesn't work around me.
Third person's pov
After learning the truth, He put all his efforts in to finding her, all he now wanted was to win her heart the right way and treat her the way she deserved to treated. He hired a private investigator but for months he found nothing, if only he had asked her or even bothered to get to know her a little things would have been different for them. After failing miserably he devoted himself to work and trying to be a better man. He did everything to fill the void in his heart, regret filled his heart and took away his sleep. He often got drunk, refused to talk about her, he had even stopped taking women home or anywhere. He right now sat in his office trying to cure his hangover while his best friend Jay sat across him flipping newspaper, Eddie took two aspirin and gulped it down with a back coffee "You should hep me with work rather then wasting your time reading newspaper." Jay still didn't look up from the paper, "The article I am reading is just too interesting, so there is this rich heiress from LA who has refused take over his father's multi-billion dollar business because she wants to be something on her own!" Eddie held out his hand asking for the paper he was quite amused with the girl, "That's interesting, all the women these days either wants to be rich or marry someone who is rich and here she is running away from money and the lifestyle! Does she have a name?" Jay shook his head, "Her name is not mentioned in fact the article says that she was never even exposed to media growing up. The father definitely looks an influenced person, even his name or company is not mentioned in the article!" Little did they know that the woman was right in front of them from so long, yet no one ever knew.
