Chapter 3 - WAITING A STAR TO FALL

"Good morning class!" it's Prof. Shiro, who just came in.

"Good morning, Professor Shiro!" they courteously greeted him back.

"I believe I gave you something to research last week, right?" Prof. Shiro confirmed. " Yes, sir!" they agreed.

Prof. Shiro: "Good! Now, I'd like you to find a partner and choose a part of the scene from the mythical story that I asked you to research. Make sure you're in opposite gender since it's a story about A Princess and The Warrior. The pair who could portray the best scene will be chosen to perform in the coming recital, so do your best!"

"Yes, sir!" Everyone was so excited about the activity, they immediately found their partners since most of them were in a group of friends, and some are in relationships. Akari paired with their classroom auditor, but Sakura couldn't find whom to pair with.

"Ahm, Excuse me...? Sakura..." a baritone voice from behind her said.

She felt goose bumps all of a sudden, it was a voice from a very familiar man. "Could it be...." her hands were shaking as she turn to see who owns the voice and "ooh!" she paused in a second and shake her head "Maybe I'm thinking too much of that man in my dreams lately, in fact it's impossible to be him!" It's Totsuo Himari, the exchange student from Hokkai-Gakuen University.

Sakura: "Yes, Mr. Arrogant?" sarcastic, she asked.

Totsuo: "M-Mr. What?" He was surprised on how she called him. "I'm Totsu..."

Sakura: "Totsuo Himari, exchange student from Hokkai-Gakuen University and the one who took the book that was supposed to be mine. Right?" still sarcastic.

Totsuo: "Wow! Impressive huh! But it's not my fault if my arms are longer than yours." He smiled a bit thinking how cute Sakura is having a little tantrum.

Sakura: "W-what did you just say? Are you trying to insult me? I'm telling you Mr. Bastard, I'm not buying it! Hmp!" and she turned her back on him.

Totsuo: "Hmm... Looks like I'm gonna have a lot of names from you huh? Well then, seems like you don't need someone to team up with." Looking at her back, "Her hair shines like fairy dust... Her body curves' so fragile and delicate..." His mind speaks to himself.

Sakura: "You want to team up with me? Well, thank you, but no thanks!" She slightly turns her face to him and walk away after saying those words.

"What the heck Sakura? Are you that mad at him? Do you really need to be that mean to him? Yes, he did take the book, but was that really a big deal? Seriously? What's got into you Sakura? Wake up your senses!" Cursing herself. She looks around to see if there's anyone else to pair or team with, later she realized that their class has an equal count for ladies and gents since they are just 32 students in all.

"Where is he...? Where did he go??" She walks around their classroom and look every face of her classmates, but he was not one of them. She felt sorry for what she did to him and now she felt so disappointed too. The fact that she cannot perform their class activity because she doesn't have a partner, She might probably fail this time.

She then decided to just sit and watch her classmates perform. As she turns around, she bumped on a wide chest that makes her off -balanced and almost fell on the floor. But, the guy has a quick reflexes and caught her waist with his long and firm masculine arms, pulling her towards him.

"Watch out... Are you okay?" with a soft baritone voice, it was Totsuo.

Sakura: "T-Totsuo..." a very familiar feeling and situation, Deja vu!

Totsuo: "Sakura..." His eyes was pinned to her, as if he's reading her deepest soul.

They heard clapping and cheering around them, they didn't notice that their classmates saw everything that happened. They teased them, although some of the guys envy him because no one in their class have ever had a bone to go near or even approach Sakura. As they say, "She's too perfect to be true!" Beauty, brain and talent in one plus her pure heart, so what more could you ask for? He gently guides her to stand firmly without taking her eyes off of her.

Totsuo: "Are you okay?"

Sakura: "Y-yes, I'm fine, t-thank you..." She can feel her face turned red, she feels like there's a boiling water inside her tummy and her heart was being pounded like a gong.

Totsuo: "I suppose you were looking for me... Right?" not a blink of an eye.

Sakura: "W-what? N-no! I-I mean... Y-yes. Well, we're the only one left that has no partner... I mean pair... I mean team, Whatever!" She's now totally off guard.

Totsuo: "Hmmm, Okay..." he smiled teasingly.

"Alright then! It was already decided! The pair that will portray for the recital as A Princess and The Warrior will be Sakura and Totsuo! Their Prof. Shiro announces.

Sakura: "But sir, we haven't performed our lines yet!" she was trying to oppose.

Prof. Shiro: "Well, for what we have all witnessed you both don't need to prove your talents in acting. I'm very sure that you can portray the roles naturally perfect! Let's give them a round of applause class!" The whole class agrees to their professor. "You have one whole week to practice your role, the rest of the class will help to do the props and program preparation. Okay?!" He added. "Yes, sir!" they replied, "Class dismissed!".

At the car park of Hokkaido University, Sakura was about to get into her car. "Sakura! Sakura, wait!" It was Totsuo Himari, running towards her. "He looks like running in slow motion... What?! Sakura, stop it!" reprimanding her thoughts while shaking her head.

Sakura: "Ahm... Y-yes? Look, I'm sorry if I've been so rude to you lately, I was just carried away with my emotions... Maybe... I think... Well, I'm sorry I mean it." looking at straight into his eyes sincerely.

Totsuo: "It's okay... I should ask you an apology too for what I did, I was supposed to give the book to you that time, but I saw you walking out from the library, so I just bought a copy. Here, I hope things will be okay with us from now on..." Giving her the mythology book that caused their "misunderstanding".

Sakura: "No, it's okay! You don't need to do this, actually I also bought a copy on the same day too. So, there's really no need for you to give me this book." but deep inside she really wanted to take it, but she already has one.

Totsuo: "Then, let me take yours!" he smiled.

Sakura: "What? Are you crazy? They're just the same book."

Totsuo: "No, They're not! Please?" asking her sincerely.

Sakura: "You're funny... But, I already write my name on it." she was starting to be amazed again.

Totsuo: "That's better! So...?" trying to convince her.

Sakura: "ha-ha! Fine! Here's mine." she was really amused.

Totsuo: "Thank you! So, this will be our patch now! He smiled.

Sakura: "I didn't know you're funny and weird... Anyway, I got to go now! Our practice starts tomorrow, right? So, I'll see you then?" she smiled sweetly.

Totsuo: "Yes! See you tomorrow, take care." He smiled back.

Driving her way home, she couldn't resist to take a glance on the book he gave to her. "What's the difference of this book? Oh well, maybe he just don't want to be rejected." She shrugs.

"Mom!" She finally got home. "Mommy, I'm home!" gladly calling her mother.

Mother: "Oh! Darling, how's your school? Are you tired? Go get some rest, darling, I'll prepare fresh fruits for your snack, okay?"

Sakura: "It's okay mom... I'll get some rest for about an hour..." She kissed her mom and went to her room.

She was so curious about the book, "how is it different though?" It's exactly the same book that she saw in the library and the book that she and her best friend Akari bought at the bookstore. She started to turn the pages and "Huh...? W-what's this....?"
