Chereads / The Legend of Dark Fate / Chapter 5 - The Home Calling

Chapter 5 - The Home Calling

The Day before the Present Day

The underground parking lot had been converted into a private street fight. Even though it should have been a secret event, the heirs of millionaires and billionaires won't mind an audience to cheer and support them.

It smelled like sweat and pungent, yet it had no effect as most of the crowd was drunk on alcohol or adrenaline. Screaming, hooting, cursing on top of their lungs. They were lucky that the spot picked belonged to one of the many towers owned by Ace, or his father and has been on his name now.

Even when the weather was chilly, the girls barely covered much of their legs and arms dancing their favourite player and cheering for them.

Ace had been blessed with the looks of a Greek god, he doesn't even have to try. The enchanting green eyes, the hot searing look would make any girl he wants to melt at his feet. But unlike any guy there, he was oblivious to the girls there, at least when it comes to making his cold heart to beat. On the other hand, he could always have fun with them.

"Damm, that hurts" Ace smiled after the first jab on his face, with one easy movement wiping off the little blood on his lips. The girls are still drooling over his charming smile.

He backpedalled and refused to cover up, still smiling a little as he raised his fits again.

Without giving much time to him, the opponent threw another jab, making Ace land on his knees.

The people who knew Ace could clearly say that he wasn't taking it seriously and just playing for fun. Or the fact that he was drunk at 5 is in the morning, might be one of the reasons for his bad game.

He laughed again, as he got up and kissed the girl in front of him, the smile still playing on his face as he winked at her.

Turning back, to look at the other guy, he raised his fists again, adjusting his mouthguard.

Both of them started moving in circles, pawing at each other. Ace smiled again, before throwing a fake jab and as the opponent raised his hand to block it, Ace raised his other hand for a side hook, making the other opponent almost knockdown.

Ace quickly moved to clinch to the body of his opponent and went for the final hook.

"Ace" Noah, his best friend called for him from behind the crowd, making him lose his concentration as the next blow, knocked Ace down.

"Drop and out" the crowd screamed.

Slowly getting up from the ground, Ace patted his opponent and hopped toward Noah.

"Okay, Bro, We gotta first clean you up, before you meet her" Ace felt someone standing beside him. The girl from before handed him his shirt, which he slowly took back while brushing her hands with his.

With the other hand, he took off his personal card and was about to her when Noah grabbed it first.

"Sorry, bro. That won't be possible today"

Noah smiled at the girl as she hissed and turned back not before giving him the finger.

"So, who did you say we are meeting?" Buttoning his shirt back, Ace asked Noah.

Noah handed him the hairbrush and sprayed Ace's favourite brand of perfume, trying his best to make his best friend look human.

Making his way, to the washroom, Ace started brushing his messed up hair from the fight.

Quickly changing back his lenses with a new pair of black ones, he didn't even bother to look at himself in the mirror. He knew, even if he was looking like a mess, everyone would want his attention.

"That little Brat, is he still in bed?" The familiar soft yet scary voice put a smile on his face. He didn't wait further and approached back to his room.

"Granny...." He was about to go for a hug when he saw the threatening look on her face.

"Little boy, do you think I am a fool? I can smell you from here" Ace looked at Noah, and Noah just shrugged.

"Meooooow" Ace slowly picked up his tiny black cat, Kity, who was trying to get his attention from some time now by pulling on his black pants.

"Wipe that angry look from your face and tell me what you want me to do, Granny?" Noah chuckled a little standing beside Ace's Grandmother since he knew, Ace would only listen to her.

"I have packed all your things, You are going back to your home on tomorrow's flight" Ace took a deep breath processing this.

After the death of his parents, he had gone there just for their funeral and after that, he never turned back. Flying and partying in one country or another without a care in the world. But he knew that he couldn't say no to his Granny.

He had no problem moving but unlike this big city, his hometown was a little small. Which meant few parties and few girls for him.

*He could always find a way, he just needs his best bud for it* he thought and smiled, slowly making his way towards his granny.

"Fine, I will go" He finally took his grandmother in his arms.
