Chereads / The Adventures in Camelot / Chapter 5 - Loholt

Chapter 5 - Loholt

Within the castle. Merlin could be seen walking down the hallway that leads to Arthur's room.

Merlin then noticed Mordred and Jacob walking towards him.

"Where are you two heading this morning? " Said Merlin.

" The dungeon " Said Mordred without hesitation.

"The dungeon? '' Said Merlin.

" Yep " Said Jacob.

" Why?" Said Merlin.

" We are saving King Arthur the trouble of throwing us there himself " Said Jacob.

" What did you two do now? " Said Merlin.

" We put a bucket, filled with cold water, on a chair near Arthur's bed, and the chair is held by a rope, that has a lit candle underneath it " Said Mordred.

The two boys then walked past Merlin in the hallway. Merlin looked at them and smiled and after a few seconds, two names could be heard from the mouth of the King and Those names were " MORDRED!!!!! JACOB !!!!!!!! " yelled Arthur so it could be heard in all of Camelot.

Madoc could be seen sighing and smiling in his chamber after Arthurs roar.

Later.

"What is a joust?" Said Jacob.

" You have been here for three months, and you have never heard of a joust " Said Mordred.

" No I have not. So just tell me " Said Jacob.

" I will explain " Said Amir " Joust is an event, that help knights prove their honor and valor on horseback with spears "

" So basically, it is a lot of fun " Said Mordred with a smile.

" Yes, a lot of fun... " Said Jacob sarecasterly.

" Well, if you will excuse me. I have to return to my master's side " Said Mordred and ran of to Arthur.

" Speaking of masters. I have to return to my ladies side " Said Amir and ran towards his master, but before he left. Jacob shouted " Please give Lady Morgana, my regards " and Amir looked back at Jacob, and nodded, and then, ran off.

" Well, I guess, that I also must return to master Madoc's side " Said Jacob quietly to himself, but before he could run to his masters side. Jacob saw someone on the field, that he had not talked to too much, since he came to Camelot. He saw Loholt, carrying some spears.

" Hey. Loholt wait up. Let me help you " Said Jacob and ran towards Loholt on the field. Loholt looked at Jacob and Said " Oh. Jacob "

Jacob was now in front of Loholt and Said " here, let me take some of those "

" Thank you very much " Said Loholt.

" Are you taking these Spears to your Master? " Said Jacob.

" Yes. He is also a participant in the joust " Said Loholt " But, I do not understand why, he must participant in these kinds of events "

" What do you mean? " Said Jacob with a confused look on his face.

" All I am saying is, that my master always wins these kinds of events " Said Loholt.

" Wow, your master must be super amazing, for him to always win "

" Yeah. Ofcourse. He is the most skilled, and noblest, of all the knights in Camelot. He is none other than Sir Lancelot himself "

" Wow, your sir Lancelot's squire " Said Jacob, looking at Loholt with a amazed look on his face, and Loholt nodded with a look of satisfaction on his face.

" But honestly. If there was someone, who could beat sir Lancelot. It would be none other, then the living saint himself " Said Loholt.

" Who is the living saint? " Said Jacob.

" Well, it is none other than, sir Galahad. Who is also Lancelot's son "

" Wait. Lancelot has a son?! " Said Jacob with a surprised look on his face.

" I am amazed that you didn't know that. Lancelot and Galahad are father and son, but don't get me wrong. Sir Tristan and Sir Gareth could give, Sir Lancelot a run for his money, but Sir Galahad is in a league of his own. A league that his father -Lancelot- has a hard time keeping up with, but it seems that Sir Galahad is not a big fan of violence. Even though, he is a expect at fighting with literally any weapon. Sir Galahad, is even dangerous, with nothing but a shield " Said Loholt.

" Wow, I had no idea. Sir Galahad sure sounds amazing " Said Jacob and Loholt nodded.

" But wait. Is Sir Lancelot and Sir Galahad stronger than King Arthur? " Said Jacob.

" Well.... It is probably best, that I don't answer that question " Said Loholt avoiding Jacob's gaze.

" Say what you will, but I know that master Madoc is also very skilled " Said Jacob with a proud smile.

" Well, you're not wrong about that " Said Loholt, but before they could continue their conversation. Loholt and Jacob had finally reached Sir Lancelot's tent, and Sir Lancelot himself walked from out of the tent.

" Loholt you made it. I was starting to get worried " Said Lancelot.

" I didn't mean to make you worry, master " Said Loholt lowering his head and looking down at the ground.

Lancelot kneeled in front of Loholt, putting his right hand on Loholt's head and Said

" Do not be sad Loholt, but always be careful, for you are precious to me. For you are of course my squire "

Jacob could see that Loholt was smiling.

Lancelot now looked at Jacob and said " You must be Prince Madoc's squire. You're Jacob "

Jacob raised his right hand wanting to shake Lancelot's hand, but doing so. He dropped the spears he was holding, and now his cheeks were red as a tomato.

Lancelot and Loholt smiled and then, Lancelot shook Jacobs hand, but then all three of them heard a voice saying " It is good to see that you can show concern to others, then just women, father "

All three turned to where the voice was coming from, and saw the living saint himself. Sir Galahad.

Lancelot stood back up, and looked straight at his son.

Loholt walked closer to Jacob and whispered " There was something I forgot to mention to you earlier. Lancelot and Galahad have a intense relationship as father and son "

Jacob looked at Loholt with a confused and concerned look on his face, and then he looked back at Lancelot and Galahad.

" So my son. Are you finally planning on joining the joust? " Said Lancelot.

" I don't know. Are you finally planning on holding back with all the flirting you do with all the women, dear father " Said Galahad with his arms crossed.

Lancelot was quiet.

" Well, it seems that I will not be participating in the joust this time around " Said Galahad.

" I see what you mean " whispered Jacob to Loholt.

Galahad looked at Jacob and Said " It is nice to meet you Jacob, but I think you and Loholt should go on and enjoy the joust. I have some things I need to talk to my father about "

" Yes sir " Said Jacob and ran off towards to joust.

Loholt looked at Lancelot and Lancelot nodded.

Loholt then dropped the spears on the ground and ran towards Jacob, and all Jacob and Loholt could hear behind them, was a lot of cursing and yelling.

Jacob and Loholt were now, where the joust took place.

" Wow, this place is sure lively " Said Jacob " The people seem to enjoy themselves, and they went all out with these decorations "

" Yeah, but…" Said Loholt.

Jacob looked at Loholt and said " Hey. What is the matter. You seem to be worried. I am sure that Sir Lancelot and Sir Galahad are fine. I mean they are family after all "

" It's not that. People do not like me around these kinds of events " Said Loholt, but before Jacob could ask what he meant. The knights in the joust just hit each other with their spears.

" Oh. That must hurt " Said Jacob and looked at Loholt, but what he saw, sent chills down his spine.

Loholt had a wide smile on his face and Said " That was really cool "

Loholt then noticed Jacob looking at him, with a terrified look on his face.

Loholt quickly removed his smile and Said " I know. People say that I am creepy, but I just enjoy watching combat "

" No, It is not wrong for you to enjoy yourself, Loholt " Said Jacob and looked towards the joust, but even Jacob could not help but think, that the smile Loholt had was a little creepy.

Jacob then noticed. Prince Madoc and King Arthur, were sitting on their thrones, placed on a pedestal.

Jacob waved at Madoc. Madoc saw Jacob and gestures that Jacob, come to his side.

" Well it seems that my master has called for me. I had a lot of fun today Loholt. Thank you very much " Said Jacob.

Loholt looked at Jacob with a surprised look on his face and Said " Well….. you are welcome ".

" I will be seeing you later my friend " Said Jacob, and then ran off to his master's side.

" Yeah… see you later…. My friend " Said Loholt.

Loholt then felt a hand on his right shoulder.

Loholt looked up, and saw Lancelot, smile back at him. Loholt smiled back and then continued watching the joust.

After a few minutes.

Jacob finally reached Madoc on the pedestal.

" where have you been all this time. I have been looking for you everywhere. I was so worried " Said Madoc.

" Forgive me Master. I was with a friend " Said Jacob and went to stand behind the thrones, where Mordred and Merlin were also standing.

After a while. Watching some of the finest knights, that Camelot had to offer.

Knights such as, Sir Lancelot, Sir Gawain, Sir Agravaine, Sir Lucan, Sir Kay and Sir Gwyn ap Nudd.

Merlin then walked over to Arthur and whispered something, and then Arthur looked at Merlin and Said " That is a fantastic idea, Merlin. I am impressed "

" Thank you sire " Said Merlin with a smile.

Mordred lend over to Jacob and whispered " I don't like, where this is going " Because all Mordred and Jacob saw, was King Arthur with a unusual smile on his.

" Yeah. I don't like this either " Said Jacob.

After a while.

Mordred and Jacob could be seen on donkeys, with spears, and sorry excuses for armor, and they were both in the arena. For all the people to see, the knights, and the royalty of Camelot.

Jacob looked at Madoc, and all Madoc did, was shrug his shoulders.

" What do you say, to us pranking Merlin after all this is done " yelled Mordred from across the arene..

" I say. Let us give him hell " yelled Jacob back.

They then both put on their helmets, and gave each of their donkeys a kick on the side, and then they both lifted their spears.

After charging for a few seconds. Mordred and Jacob hit each other with their spears, on their stomachs which sent them flying off their donkeys.

They both hit the ground hard, and bust out laughing which made everyone else laugh.

Amidst the crowd. Was a man, who was not laughing. He was simply smiling.

It was none other then Lug himself.
