Chapter 1 - Epilogue

Eiaou Yvytt Denacen, daughter of Sarah Lehn Octavia who was deemed as the kingdom's beautiful rose, and Alvon Trive Denacen who was the king of Eltrazen. She had an older sister, Stylyn Denise Denacen, and a younger brother, Avin Oieu Denacen.

In this world where magic was considered the most important factor of life, Yvytt, who was born "powerless", was neglected and thrown away by her parents. She was treated like a maid, dressed in rugs and had callused hands. Despite that, she tried her best to manifest her mana and magic. In the kingdom of Eltrazen, strict curfews and laws were implemented. Instead of living their lives, Eltrazenians were treated like livestock. Eltrazen's monarchy was unlike other countries, it was decided through battles. Every time a king dies, the country holds an all-out tournament to assess the next monarch to lead them. And since Eiaou was considered powerless, she was not given a single ounce of noble life.

Yvytt's POV:

At the time when father started getting sick, he banished me, afraid of his name being tarnished. I was sent to the abandoned summer mansion on the border of Eltrazen and the forests of Oscaden wherein, huge and dangerous monsters were lurking.

I ran and ran until my feet were moving out of my own accord. The dark surroundings, along with the red eyes that stared at me with hunger. I leaned on a tree and bawled my eyes out as I hugged my knees as tight as I could. Every sound ringed in my ear. The crickets, the owls, and the wolves' howls, but my sobbing prevailed.

With only the bright full moon as the light on this dark abyss, a huge figure hovered the moonlight that comforted me. Fear on my bones, yet curiosity on my mind. I looked up to see the being but all I saw were huge fangs and a wolf-like figure, blood dripping from its mouth and body. Terror was clear in my eyes, I looked down and cried.

"Please let this be a dream! Please let me live! I promise I'll manifest my magic! Please!" Those words on repeat inside my mind.

Suddenly the huge wolf knelt down, transformed into a young and brown-haired lad and said, "My queen, please sing me a lullaby."

Along with its request, it collapsed on my lap.

I stared at the handsome, almost beastly, aura and face of the mister. He seemed to be somewhere around 20 years old. His lashes that were moonlit. His thin lips that were bleeding and his dirt filled clothes.

"Beautiful." He whispered with the tiny amount of energy he had left. In the midst of the situation, the scary trees did not seem as scary as it did, and the forest wasn't dark as it was before, in fact, they were beautiful. As the stars and the fireflies flew, they waved the fears away, and I realized maybe it wasn't so bad.
