Chapter 17 - Chapter 17 - Mozambique

Though the main language in Mozambique is Portuguese Ceri and the group did not have a big issue exploring the beaches and surrounding areas since they could converse with the locals in Swahili.

The cuisine here was rich in culture thus making it a foodies paradise. It is deeply influenced by Portuguese ingredients and techniques, with Arab influences as well.

They use a lot of lemon, garlic, chilli, coconut and cashews and have a variety of seafood from the country's coastline.

This particular evening the group of six, Ceri and her son Metta, mr Murage and his wife and Dan and his younger sister Dai were dinnibg at Moza rooftop restaurant. They were offering outdoor dining and live music. It was fantastic with a slight cool breeze bringing the sound of waves accentuating the music.

They were relaxed as they had finished their official business and were now on their two extra days of vacation.

They ordered prawns for appetizer then grilled chicken Peri-peri, Matapa with crabs all to be eaten with Xima which was same as their country Ugali. The peri peri was really spicy but delicious. Ceri had to stop Metta from eating too much of it, she was scared he would end up having gastritis from the pepper.

After a sumptuous dinner, they joined the dancers then headed to the beach for a walk.
