Angel's POV.
Alex held on to me and has been trying to calm me down from my break down. Eventually I do collect myself and thank him, as we walk out of the cave we hear the distant rumble of thunder. Alex looks at me before speaking. " We have some time till the storm hits us, there should be a village or something around here. Staying in a cave isn't the wisest since you can't shift yet so you'll get cold. Traveling with a cold or being sick isn't the best." I nod with a sigh. I can't wait till my birthday so I can shift and meet my mate, oh wait never mind about the mate. Then it hit me. " Hey Alex?" He hymns in response and leads the way to somewhere. " What about your mate? Won't she get worried?" I ask following him, he only chuckles shaking his head. " I wouldn't worry about it if I were you." I simply nod still following Alex without knowing where we are going.
Alex's POV.
The question Angel asked me stays with me, I haven't met my mate yet. Though I don't wanna, I really have someone in mind. I smile to myself slightly and lead Angel to hopefully shelter.
~~Time Skip~~
Angel's POV.
Eventually Alex stops at a small abandoned cabin, which is lucky cause it had started to rain a few minutes ago. Alex and I go inside carefully, there was still some furniture left in the cabin. I look around the cabin it's not that bad actually. Two bedrooms, with I think one bathroom, A cute small kitchen with the dinning room, and living room. This place would be a good starting home when fixed up, I'm pretty sure Alex agrees as he examines everything. " This place will do for us to stay, maybe for ever." He mutters to himself of course I hear him, but I don't react to what he said. We decided to rest for a bit after Alex made sure the area is safe. I had trouble sleeping though, my mind kept thinking about my mom. I hope she is okay, she is the only real family I have. Alex probably noticed how I'm still up after he came back inside. " You're thinking about your mom, aren't you?" I look at him and only nod, he lied down on the floor with me. " I'm sure she is fine, she is a strong woman after all. Though I do understand why, she is with the Alpha. You need to rest Angel, either on a bed or on the floor." Alex says, but I don't reply. He let's out a sigh picking me up with ease taking me to a bedroom. After gently putting me on the bed he joins, it's normal for us to sleep in the same bed. He would to help me with my nightmares and I do the same. Eventually sleep over took me, taking me to the land of dreams.
In Her Dream
A wolf with fur as white as fresh snow, and eyes are silverly in color, struggles to get free of it's chains. Howling and growling, biting and pulling. The wolf still can't get free of it's chains, eventually it gave up. The dream shifted from the wolf to a war, the old war before the different species split up. So many deaths, so much pain. Those who were in the war and lived are haunted by past. The dream changed this time to when she was with her father and mother. She loved them, and they loved her.
A few hours later.
Alex's POV
I look over at Angel, she was still asleep. She needed it if she was going to survive out here. Then a thought hit me like a buck's kick during a hunt, her birthday isn't to far away. She'll be shifting one the night of her birthday, it's a shame that her mom nor her dad can see her shift. I'll have to help her with it, I'm willing to do so as I don't like seeing her in pain. I decided to go and hunt for food, I notice that it's still storming outside. " well, looks like I'm taking a shower." After shifting to my wolf form I go outside and start the hunt.
Angel's POV
Finally waking up I look next to me only to see that Alex is gone. I shrug it off as he probably is hunting, as he would normally do. My mind drifts back to the wolf I saw, though I don't remember anything. I get up from the bed and stretch humming a tune. Going into the living room listening to the pitter patter of the rain hitting the roof. It soothes me, even with the thunder to me a storm is a melody. A beautiful melody that just wants to be heard, but is always ignored or feared. I never ignored the melodies, I grew up listening to them. Each storm has a different melody, Alex says that I'm normally a bit crazy for thinking that. I notice that Alex is back with some food he hunted, his wolf Russell looks at me proud of his hunt. I go over to pet him only for Alex to make him shift back. " Aw, you never let me pet you." I pout. Alex chuckles shaking his head. " I don't because the last time I let you, Russell wouldn't stop bothering me wanting more pets." He wonders on how exactly he is going to cook the raw meat. After a few minutes of us brain storming with an actual storm still going on strong. "Well, I guess we can try starting a fire. No that won't work, looks like we aren't eating meat cause you can't shift yet." Alex sighs disappointed at the fact we are now limited on what we can eat. Looking at the dead animal I decide to try and cut it in small pieces before going over to the fireplace. " Try to find something flammable, and something to start a fire." I say. He nods starting to look for the materials, though I knew why he didn't bring up this option. If the chimney is closed which it is has rain isn't coming through, it can fill up the cabin causing us to have to leave. He comes back with a broken nightstand in which he breaks even more. I take the wood and put them in the fireplace, Alex tries to start a fire. While he is doing that I make a rack for the meat, once the fire has started Alex gently takes the rack and puts it over the fire putting the meat on it. We both wait for the meat to cook our stomachs growling and hissing?! I look at Alex confused.
" Hey what's that hissing sound?" I ask looking around. " Hissing? Wait, be careful Angel." Alex answers. " careful doesn't stop you intruders from trespassing." A voice says over the roar of thunder. Alex and I look around and noticed a figure standing at the door way along with a bunch of snakes. Alex steps in front of me and growls lowly. " Look we didn't mean to trespass, we just needed shelter from the storm." The person huffs and comes inside revealing their... I mean Her features. She has weird eyes though, slits like a snake and golden in color. Her hair was a green color, she is also really skinny. Gathering up some courage I finally asked. " Who and what are you?" The female looks at me with a weird expression that makes me shudder. " I'm Viper, also don't worry about my eyes. They aren't real, just contacts it's what my people wear. My eyes are normally a light brown, and my hair used to be a blonde but it got dyed. Anyways this is snake territory, and you two has trespassed. So don't you think that you two won't be punished." Alex frowns not happy. " You can't be serious, what else were we supposed to do? Stay out in the storm to get sick and die? We can't go home since we were banned." He says with cold tone. Viper seems to think for a bit before sighing. " Fine, I'll let you two off with a warning. But I expect you two to be gone the next day, also your meat is ready." I snap out of the daze and tend to the meat. " Where will we go?" I asked. " There is a village not that far from here, you two can get a place there." Viper answers. Alex looks at me giving me a nod. " Alright, we'll go to the village but you have to take us there." Viper only nods. " So it's settled tomorrow we are going to a village." I say giving some of the meat to Alex and Viper, they both thank me before eating. I cook more meat until everyone is good and full. Alex starts cleaning up the mess we made, Viper left the door and windows open so we can keep the fire going to keep us warm. Once we all settle down we three discuss about the plan on going to the Village, though little did we know that there is a bigger picture.
