"That was a good shower," Kayda said, coming out of the bathroom with a towel around her hair.
"Good to know," I said, looking at her annoyed.
"Now it's your turn," Kayda said, sitting next to me on the bed.
"First, where am I sleeping?" I said, giving her a deadpan look.
"On this bed, of course," Kayda said, patting the bed.
"then, where are you sleeping?" I said with a raised eyebrow.
"On this bed, of course," Kayda said, patting the bed again, keeping her smile.
"No, seriously, where are we going to sleep, Kayda," I said, getting more annoyed.
"We are both sleeping on this bed together," Kayda said a bit more seriously.
"and why would we do that," I said, tilting my head at her.
"because we are soulmates."
"Yeah and?" I said, looking at her again with a raised eyebrow.
"I thought it would have been fine if we share the bed now that you know about it," Kayda said, shrugging.
"I understand, but I don't want to share a bed just yet," I said, shaking my head.
"Why?" Kayda said, tilting her head.
"because we have been together for like a couple of hours," I said, looking at her like that was obvious.
"Okay, so we are together, but you don't want to share a bed with me?" Kayda said, confused.
"yes, we are together, but it's like we are dating now, I guess."
"dating? I remember Amari explain me something like that to me."
"yes, it's like we are together, but it's not a done deal yet."
"what do you mean not a done deal?" Kayda said, look at me, more confused.
"why do I need to explain this to you. Sigh, we are dating, so we are partners but not married yet." I explain, seeing her light up. I smiled.
"so, we are engaged?" Kayda said, only to see my smile disappear.
"no, we are still before that. It's like... how do I actually explain dating? It's not like I have ever done it." I mumbled to myself, dishearten.
"ha-ha, don't be so depressed. I was just playing with you," Kayda said, laughing at me.
"You actually got me there," I said, chuckling.
"And you said you would see a truth from a lie," Kayda said with pride.
"what has that anything to do with this?" I said, looking at her confused.
"Remember what you said in the carriage. Because..." Kayda said with a mocking grin
"I know what I said, but that isn't close to this. I don't know if this world has the concept of dating, so I want to clarify that we are together but not." I explain.
"no, this world does the concept of dating, so you don't have to explain to me," Kayda said, holding her grin.
"I see, so why are we sharing a bed?" I asked, confused.
"because I don't want to pay for two rooms," Kayda said with no shame.
"but isn't there a room with two beds?" I said, looking at her weirdly.
"... you need to shower before you climb into bed, okay," Kayda said, gesturing towards the bathroom.
"Hey, don't ignore my question!" I yelled, a bit surprised that she is evading the question.
"go shower," Kayda said, dragging me towards the bathroom.
"tch, we will talk when I come out," I said reluctantly, going into the bathroom to take my shower.
(40 minutes later)
"I guess you weren't wrong about that being a great shower," I said, coming out of the bathroom while drying my tail. Not hearing any reply, I looked towards the bed to see Kayda lying halfway under the covers sleeping with her wings on the bed that was taking the entire bed. "Is she sleeping? It seems so. I guess we will need to talk about her wings being in the way someday." I mumbled with a smile on my face.
'I wonder how Kayda sleeping face looks like?' I thought while walking to the side of the bed to get a clear view of Kayda sleeping face.
Getting to the bedside, I bent down only to feel my heart jump out of my chest, seeing Kayda sleeping face.
"Yeah, definitely... ah shit, my nose is bleeding," I mumbled to myself before feeling blood running out of my nose.
'Fuck, it's really pouring. I need to get away from her cute face and go to sleep.' I thought, going to the other side of the bed before changing into my smallest fox form and lied down on the ground going to sleep.
(Next Morning.)
"Hey, wake up! We can't have people see you like that." I heard Kayda say while kicking me awake.
"just 5 more minutes," I whined from my rolled-up body.
"Sara will come up here any second," Kayda said, making me change back to my human form before flopping into the now unoccupied bed.
"no, stand up. You can't go back to sleep," Kayda said, pulling on my arm.
"Noooo, I am so tired," I whined, just looking at Kayda.
'I can't really tell her that I couldn't sleep because her sleeping face was too cute and my nose bleeds kept me up all night.' I thought, feeling my face heat up. I turned face down onto the bed.
Knock Knock.
"you two love bird breakfast is ready!" Sara yelled from the other side of the door.
"love birds?" I mumbled, looking up at the door before looming at Kayda, who didn't want to meet my gaze. "did you tell her about us being some mates."
"no, but it's probably how I acted last night."
"I am coming in!" Sara said, opening the door.
"Did we say you could come in?" I said, annoyed, looking at Sara, who was holding a tray with some food on it.
"Sorry, sorry, I just couldn't keep my curiosity anymore, okay," Sara said, walking to the table in the corner putting the food on it.
"Sara, I don't think that will be enough for nova here," Kayda said, trying to hide her appetite.
"No, that won't be even close enough for both of us. Kayda, you eat as much as me." I said, standing up from the bed.
"oh, okay, j will tell dad to make more food for you guys," Sara said, nodding before walking towards the door again. Stopping at the door, she looked back at me and added before closing the door. "Thank you for clarifying your relationship last night,"
"Huh?" I mumbled, tilting my head at the now-closed door, confused.
"what does she mean by clarifying our relationship?" Kayda asked, looking at me confused.
"I didn't do anything except throwing some knives at her because she was staring at your butt," I said, not looking at her.
"You did what?? More importantly, she did what!?" Kayda yelled, holding her hands in front of her ass.
"she was checking you out, and I didn't like it. so, I threw some throwing knives into the table she was sitting at." I explain, panicking.
"so, it wasn't me who told her but you," Kayda said.
"I guess it was," I said, rubbing my cheek awkwardly.
"and you wanted to blame it on me," Kayda said, getting closer to me.
"well, you are known as Kayda the sage, and I am not very likable. so, I thought if you let people know your name lose its credibility... and you're not very good at keeping your mouth shut." I explain, saying the last part inaudible.
"oh, so you care more about my image? no, you mean if my image falls, I will be worthless money, so you can't make more money using my name." Kayda said, grabbing my collar while glaring at me.
"wait, wait, I didn't think like that," I said, panicking more.
"you didn't?" Kayda said skeptically.
"well, no, it's more like I didn't want the entire world to know about me being with you as I am still weak and can't win against any enemy that might come for my head or yours," I explain logically.
"Oh, that does make sense, but I am still going to punish you," Kayda said, letting go of me.
"punish? Sorry, but I am not into those kinds of kinks at all." I said, taking a few steps away from her.
"Not sexual you dumbass. I meant for worrying me about you last night and everything." Kayda said, turning around walking to the table with the food on it. Taking a seat, she looked at me with a smile before starting to eat.
'Don't tell me.' I thought, walking up to her only to get pushed back by Kayda tail.
"You stay there. No food for you," Kayda said, starting to eat.
"Did you know you are a demon?" I said with a low, depressed voice. dc
