The airship hovered just over the city skyline. On the deck of the brig the sailors and soldiers looked down upon the denizens of the city. The coastal city was in the midst of its fifth annual Continental Fair. Kids ran around the cobblestone streets and aristocrats looked at priceless pieces of art created by artists on the streets.
Down in the streets were stands with people showing off their new gadgets to investors and mages performing magic.
Though this scene may appear wholesome it has a much more sinister undertone. This town was a coastal city in the Kingdom of Sannus on the continent of Falen. Sannus was a colonial kingdom that colonized the south eastern part of the continent and enslaved the orcish inhabitants.
Skork looked up from the concealed attic of a building next to the airship. Behind him were a dozen other orcs all wielding axes.
"Skork, are we ready?" Skallien asked
"Yes brother, today we strike a major blow to the human colonizer." Skork answered
Skork raised his ax and shouted.
"To victory!"
The group all raised their axes and then charged out the window after Skork. Skork jumped from the rooftop and latched onto the rudder of the ship he then climbed up the ship. The others did the same.
Prince World looked down on the fair with a disgusting snarl on his face.
"What is it ?" Captain Jacker interrogated.
"It's this ship, the Kingdom of Oceanlandia has first rate Ships of the Line converted into airships and all my military can do is convert a brig." World answered.
"Why do you feel the need to compare Oceanlandia's military to our own? We are allies, I don't think we'll be going to war with them."
"It's not about that, it's about us being seen as second rate. I want us to be the dominant power of the region, not Oceanlandia."
Just then Skork mounted the starboard side of the ship with his ax in hand.
"Dear Gods!" Captain Jacker shouted.
"Rebels! Kill them all!" Prince Warold shouted at the fop of his lungs. Just then the decks of the ship erupted with men in bright yellow colonial era uniforms busted from the bowels of the ships with cutlasses and fixed bayonet muskets.
Skork threw his ax which struck the blade first in the chest of a soldier. He then rushed up and decked another soldier with enough force to break his jaw. Skallien rushed up along with the rest of the group and a major clash ensued with the Sannussian soldiers. The clash of metal was deafening and a few gunshots were let off in the midst of the melee. One orc started bleeding profusely. Dark black blood flowed down his chest from the wounds yet he fought on.
Skork dodged a bayonet thrust meant to stab him and he grabbed the blade and snapped it from the rifle barrel. He then thrusted said blade into the forehead of the man who tried to kill him. After retrieving the blade he swung his arm, slashing the throat of a nearby soldier.
Shark grabbed his ax and then implanted it into the abdomen of a rival soldier. Meanwhile Scallion ripped the arm from the socket of an enemy soldier.
"They may be soldiers, but they are not warriors. We can make it easier for men!" Skallien shouted
Just then captain Jacker drew his cutlass and rushed into battle. Jacker's sword clashed with Skork's ax.
"Bastard scum, you'll be hanged by your ribs!" Jacker shouted.
"I don't think so." Skork said. The two rapidly clashed through metal instruments against each others neither ever being able to best the other. Skork managed to slash him in the stomach with the bayonet once and Jacker nearly keeled over. Skork punched him in the face. Upon seeing this Prince Warold drew his sword and rushed into the melee.
"Die you honorless coward!" He screamed. He made it and clashed swords with Scallion. They dueled for a bit but Skallien was just too good of a swordsman for Scallion. Scallion implanted his ax in World's upper stomach then pulled it out and bashed his face in with it.
"No!" Jacker shouted.
In a futile effort he tried to swiftly crawl towards the ship's magazine to light it.
"I can't let them gain control of the ship. The fairs down there, the fleet is nearby. I must stop them." He said
Skork implanted his ax in the back of Jacker's head. Skork walked to the helm and raised his ax.
"Today we won a huge victory for the rebellion! But the fighting isn't over!" Skork shouted.
The orcs cheered and raised their axes.
"Skork, a bunch of civilians are below us. Should we massacre them?" A orc asked.
"No. There is no honor in killing women, children, and weak men." Skork answered.
Short pointed out to sea and in the distance there was a small fleet of Ship Of The Line off in the distance.
"That's where glory lies! Onward!" Skork shouted
