We see Calamity's Eye jumping across rooftops at impossibly fast speeds after successfully completing his task at the ball. He stops when he reaches the outskirts of Evimero, as he seems to be deep in thought. "Hey, come out, you are not making any attempt whatsoever to hide your presence," Calamity's Eye says as he turns around to see the girl with long blue hair fly down in front of him. As she does he shoots a glare in hopes of scaring away a confrontation, but seemingly fails as she steps forward. "What do you want?" He says as he also proceeds to walk towards her. It was then that he noticed that her hair went to about her hip, it seemed to be very well groomed, and she was wearing some blue themed combat dress, "This girl really likes blue." he thought as he proceeded to approach her until she suddenly stops causing him to also stop.
"You are Calamity's Eye, right?" She asks as she crosses her arms. Calamity's Eye could practically feel the confidence of this girl emanating off of her.
"Would you believe me if I told you no?" He says as he crosses his arms as well, in an attempt to mimic her confidence and toy with her. This seemed to have the opposite effect as she took another step forward much to his surprise.
"No, because why would you be running away from me then?" She asks with a smirk on her face, feeling as if she cornered him.
"Wouldn't anybody run when they feel a magic power as great as yours coming at them at that fast of a pace?" He says immediately, as he caught her by surprise now.
"So then, explain your eyes then, Calamity's Eye!? They match the legend perfectly." She says as she pulls out her trump card in this argument, his eyes.
"Put some contacts on my list, check," he thought to himself as he looked straight at her, which was looking down due to the height difference of the two being about eight inches. "I had a disease which turned my sclera black, as my pupils already were black. Then the fire came as a bonus from me learning fire fortification, So I started with my eyes. Voila." He says half-heartedly with a shrug of his shoulders.
"You don't honestly expect me to believe that, do you?" She says as she flicks her hair to the side with an expression demanding truth.
"Yes?" He says as he puts his hands back in his pockets and looks the other way. He could hear her sigh as she started to dig through her pockets, after a couple of seconds she seemed to have found it. He looked back to see a camera. She started playing it, as it shows him at the ball and everything that happened with his targets. "So what's your game?" He asks as he starts to get annoyed with this girl, so he glares at her and emanates some magic power to get his point across.
"This information is worth its time in platinum coins, and it would make the target on your back even bigger, attacking two controversial targets such as them. I have you under the palm of my hand and there is nothing you can do about it." She says as she smiles thinking she has already won. She looks at Calamity's Eye and realizes that he was smiling too. "What's your deal?" She asked with the smile from before being replaced with anger and confusion.
"You plan on blackmailing, arguably, the strongest being in the world, right in front of him. Imagine all the things I could do to you, and there is nothing you would be able to do about it. I could just kill you and destroy the tape, ever thought about that?" He says as he emanates his magic power high enough to the point she drops onto her knees. "Good, you know where you belong. Now tell me, what is your name girl?" He asked walking up to her.
"Why would I tell..." She quickly retorts only to be shut up when he looks her straight in the eyes with his magical eyes. She can't help but be drawn in by the strange beauty of them. "Aqua," she says, almost trance like. He kneels down to put a hand on her chin and make her look him in the eyes.
"I may have taken a liking to you, Aqua, and not many people are brave enough to even think about doing what you just did. Tell me, what was your purpose in doing this?" He asked her in a dominating tone to force Aqua to accept her fate.
"I have a goal, to become rank X in magic, make all of those who doubted me see that I truly am something more than just that cute girl in the guild. I want to be strong, I need to be..." She says as she slowly starts to break down into tears as she sobs. Calamity's Eye sighs and slowly lets his magic power dissipate while watching the girl in front of him.
"Show me your guild card Aqua," he says as she puts out her hand and it magically appears in a flash of light. He takes it and starts to seemingly scrutinize it. "So tell me Aqua, what was your purpose in hunting me? From what I understand, with you being this high ranked, there are X ranked magician teachers the Grand Guild has on standby for people of your caliber. Why not use one of them?" He asks as he hands Aqua her card back. It disappears in another flash of light.
"I would rather not talk about it..." She whispered in a wallow of sadness as her eyes were still tear filled. Calamity's Eye could not help but sigh once again as he looked away from her, still thinking about something.
"That still does not answer my question, what do you hope to gain from me?" He said in a slightly nicer voice. She looked up at him in surprise, was this really the Calamity's Eye of the legends she had heard? She quickly shook her head to knock herself out of her daze.
"I want you to teach me magic!" She looked at him with a newfound determination. When Calamity's Eye looked into her tear stained dark blue eyes, he could not help but see a parcel of his old self. He sighed as he realized he was starting to agree with her.
"If you can answer these questions correctly, and with honesty, I may just consider it." He says as he looks away and scratches his neck, as Aqua looks at him in shock, she could not believe that the Calamity's Eye just agreed to be her teacher.
"So your telling me the blackmail actually worked!?" She says as her face slowly turns into a smile.
"No, it was flawed." He says blatantly as her face becomes one of anger.
"What do you mean flawed? It worked, didn't it?" She says as she wipes her eyes and stands up to him.
"What I mean is, think about how many people were at that party. You were not the only one who saw me. I only stopped the newspapers and station from releasing the recording of me, but that does not mean there were not another 6 recordings of that night. If one of them gave the recording over they would become rich and famous at the same time, meaning I have an alternate purpose to joining you. Now tell me, are you willing to answer these questions with the complete truth and only the truth?" He said as a dark sign appeared on her wrist. She looked at it in wonder. "Reassurance, let's just say" He said with a smirk,
"I promise to tell the truth, only the truth and the whole truth." Aqua says memorized by it, until it glowed on her wrist and settled. "What does this do?" She asks as she looks at him holding up her wrist.
"If you break the rule we set, it will start to kill you," he says as he watches her face grow to one of shock.
"A double XX rank Daimonas curse! See, I did make the right decision!" She said with a smile. He could not help but slightly smile at her childish antic, as he grew a serious expression again before she noticed.
"I will now begin the questions." He says as she nods, to affirm that she is ready. "What do you hope to gain from me being your personal teacher?" he says as he sits down to prove just how much he did not fear her whatsoever.
"I hoped to get stronger." She says as she sits down next to him.
"That's all?" He asks as he raises an eyebrow in suspicion.
"Yes" As soon as she says this she groans as the mark glows.
"I asked for the whole truth, please remember that." He says as he looks at her. She looked down, for a couple seconds, until building up the courage to say what she wanted.
"I wanted a friend." She whispered. This took Calamity's Eye completely by surprise as he expected someone of her fame and status to have quite a few friends. He now could not help but want to know more, it was not every day something intrigued him.
"Don't you have friends? Someone with your looks and status should be a hotspot for people who want to be with you." He asked as he noticed from a side glance a light blush coming onto her face as she looked away
"That's pretty mean you know." She said with a sad smile.
"Never said I was a good guy." He said with a smirk as he looked at her right in the eyes causing her to flinch a little.
"Most people seem to just want me for my body, nobody ever gets to know me, it's annoying. Then before you even ask about why I want a different teacher, let's just say mine really does not like me for what I look like." She says as she hugs her knees. Calamity's Eye just looks at her as he continues to to see more of his old self.
"Thanks for making this easier on me, but I can't help but ask, why seek yet again, arguably, the most dangerous man on Exousia to be your teacher?" He says as he looks up to the sky.
"I thought that if I went for someone who was better than me, he would see me for me. You were everything I wanted. Someone who could be a friend, someone who could help me achieve my goals, and someone I could trust." She says looking down again. He looked straight at her in curiosity, as she said that.
"Someone you could trust? With what?" He asked as she now looked at him.
"With my, not so bright secret. Please don't make me tell you yet, I am not ready yet." She said as she looked into his eyes, almost begging.
"Alright, one last question then." She looked at him with full determination, ready to answer the last question. "Do you… like me?" He asked out of nowhere. It took a couple of seconds to actually set in what he just asked as her face became flushed immediately. "Well that answers that, when?" He asked getting closer to her and looking into her eyes causing her to blush even more.
"The streets..." She whispered looking away from him. He became even more surprised, it really was her he saw in the streets.
Why, is all he could think until he realized, this must be the dark secret she was talking about. "I am sorry for this but, in order for me to teach you, I am going to need to know that dark secret you spoke of, it may clear up suspicions. Are you okay with this?" She looked stunned, maybe even scared. Until she looked down again with a serious look on her face.
"Do you really need to know?" She asked as he just nodded, deciding that talking may not be the best idea right now. She took a deep breath until she started lifting up her shirt, Calamity's Eye naturally looked away and closed his eyes. "It's okay, you need to see this. The reason why I don't trust anyone." He looked as his eyes widened as he saw a small blue dragon tattoo on the left side of her abdomen.
"The water dragon Katai, you mean to tell me that you have that much magic power in you!?" She solemnly nods as she gets up to walk away. "Hey where are you going?" She looks back to him sadly.
"Well, now that you know my secret, I want to get away as quickly as possible. The allure of this power attracts all people, I can't trust anyone except the guild master." She says as she continues walking away.
"And your teacher." He says as he gets up as she stops and looks behind her seeing him smiling at her. "Hey I may be mean but..." Calamity's Eye was saying until she tackled him in a hug. "You know, I don't usually do hugs, but I will let you get away with it just this once." He says as he puts an arm around her. After a couple of minutes, they separate and Aqua looks straight at him with curiosity.
"Why did you agree though, I thought that you would say no. Wait, are you trying to trick me!" She said taking a step back instinctively.
"I already would have taken it if I was. Having the Water Dragon of Katai, on my side makes my goals easier anyway. I would hate to have you as an enemy, especially with that dragon by your side. I am not even that strong that I could mess with a legendary dragon such as that without at least a couple of wounds." He said. "From now on just call me whatever you feel like." He says as Aqua adapts a devious smirk.
"Okay... lover." She says as he looks back to see her smiling. He just looks at her with disbelief.
"A real name please." He says as he walks away.
"I will call you what I want!" She screams as she smiles, and runs after him not noticing the curse on her wrist going away. When she caught up with him, she noticed him looking over the side of the building. She looked where he was looking to see a Thirain boy crying into the arms of a girl by a box. She jumps down to talk to them. "Hey what's wrong?" She asks as the girl goes in front of the boy in a protective manner. It was then that she noticed the boy was injured. "Hey you need to let me help him, he's hurt." She says as she starts to move forward only for the girl to hiss. It was then that she realized that the girl was a part cat, as she had black cat ears and a black tail similar to her hair. "Teach! The boy he's..." She did not even get to finish her sentence as he appeared next to her.
"Better than lover at least." He mumbled as he looked straight at the two. "Hey, boy, did you already get in trouble from this morning?" The girl looks back at the boy as he looked at "Teach" and immediately teared up.
"Mister!" He yelled as he tried to tackle him into a hug again only to yet again be met with the ground.
"I told you I don't do hugs." He said as he knelled down and started to heal the boy.
"But you let me hug you?" Aqua says with a smirk. The other girls cat ears perked up for some unknown reason as she speeds over to Calamity's Eye and tries to tackle him only to also be met with him slamming her on the ground.
"You're a traitor, mister!" The boy screamed as he flinched while he was still hurt.
"One, circumstances said that I should have let her. Two, who the hell is this? Three, stop moving or else you will hurt yourself more." He said as he flicked the kids forehead. He held his head in pain as Calamity's Eye was done healing him. Just as he got up, the girl clung onto his back.
"My name is Raven, I am this poor boy's older sister. Wow you got some really big muscles!" She says as she is feeling him up.
"And you have some really slippery hands." He says as he grabs her hand, and goes into her pocket to find his wallet. She looked at him in shock as he put it back into his pocket. "So what happened to the money I gave you?" He asked looking at the boy, ignoring Raven going into his pocket only to find nothing but a spray bottle in the eyes.
"My eyes!" She screams as she runs around frantically.
"Well, someone caught wind of the money you gave me and I got jumped. They roughed me up pretty good and took the money. I'm sorry, mister!" He yells as he is ready for punishment.
"We should take this up with the guild, Teach. They usually handle internal affairs like this." Aqua says as Calamity's Eye thinks for a second before asking.
"If they were here, would we be able to subdue them because you are here?" He asks, looking towards Aqua.
"Yes, Teach, I am high enough ranked that I can subdue without permission." She says as she looks at him in curiosity.
"Then just watch and learn." he says as everyone looks at him in curiosity as he just snaps his fingers. Everyone waits for a couple seconds.
"Well that did..." Raven began saying from his back until suddenly 7 men came out of nowhere.
"Hey!!! We were just cashing in that kids money. How did we end up here." The supposed leader of the group says. They look around to see the kid again who hides behind Calamity's Eye. "You bastard, you think just because you have buddies that will help you that we would give the money back? Wanna know what, we will just kill you!" He screams as all of them pull out swords and guns.
"Reason enough, Aqua?" Calamity's Eye asks her while looking at here with a smirk, showing off his capabilities a bit.
"Show off." Aqua mumbled before walking forth. " I am Aqua, authority A+ rank hunter, under the jurisdiction of the Grabd Guild you are all under arrest. Stand down now or I will be forced to use force." Aqua exclaimed as Calamity's Eye let Raven off his back as he started to walk up to Aqua.
"Oh, I like this girl. We should take her in boss, for questioning." A grunt with what looks to be an assault rifle says from behind the boss.
"Your right, I will make her my bitch. I am Sharwar, S rank criminal you measly A rank. Get on your knees and I may let your friends live." The boss says as all of them start to laugh. Calamity's Eye finally gets up to Aqua to see her shivering.
"First lesson, don't ever be scared. Accept what may happen on the battlefield and you will always perform your best." He says as he puts a hand on her shoulder. "Hey, may I introduce myself." He says to the criminals.
"We are not interested, get lost." The boss says as they all laugh again.
"Oh you will be, I am..." Calamity's Eye began until one shot a bullet at him only for it to back-fire and hit him straight in the head. "Calamity's Eye, danger rank:Z, what's a low life S doing around here? Get on your knees like you are meant to be in my presence." He said as a force pushed all of them to their knees.
"You bastard, I'll kill..." The boss started saying to the kid until he got stepped on.
"One more word and I won't even let them take in a body." He says as a black fire burns ashes around all of the men who suggested what to do with Aqua so quickly. He did not even get a chance to scream. " So are you going in or are you going to resist?" He asks as his eyes start to glow a black flame. There was a quick surrender on the criminals side as Aqua was putting magic seals on all of the gang members habds to make sure that they could not escape.
"Man, teach must really care, he got so mad when they threatened me. How dreamy." She says to nobody in particular as she started to daydream.
"Sooo, who's the dreamy one?" Raven asks as Aqua turns to see her holding onto "Teach's" arm.
"Could you get off of my teacher!?" Aqua yells as she tries to pry her off. "Do something about it, Teach!" They continue to fight over Calamity's arm as he just sighs.
"He is so warm though. I might have to take him for myself. What do ya say hot stuff, wanna come back to this kitty's home?" She says as she puts herself even closer to him. Aqua is visibly very angered by this and seems ready to blow a fuse.
"Back to your box? No thank you." Calamity's Eye says calmly as he walks away. Raven looks ready to cry while Aqua is laughing to her heart's content. Calamity's Eye walks over to the boy and knelt down to his level. "Hey, I just realized I cannot keep calling you boy. What's your name?" He ask while checking around him to make sure he was fine.
"Ryan," he says meekly, not looking him in the eyes. He takes notice of this and decided to ask about it.
"Did something else happen?" He asks as the boy is now crying.
"I could not even do what you asked of me. I am..." He was interrupted by Calamity's Eye putting a hand on his head and ruffling up his Thirian traited ears.
"I told you, I would make sure you were fine, so here I am." He continued to cry.
"Mister!" He again tried to tackle him into a hug to be met with the same result, the floor. "Traitor, first lady Aqua, then my sister, but never me!" He screams as some people walk in to talk to Aqua.
"Aqua, are you okay!!! Why did you engage? Do you know..." The red haired lady was interrupted by Aqua hugging her.
"Guild Master Risa, I am fine" Aqua said as Calamity's Eye looked at her. The same long red haired, red eyed, crimson princess from that cursed night. She is slightly taller than Aqua but still shorter than him. Risa started to greet Raven and Ryan. Risa started walking towards him to only widen her eyes. Calamity's Eye noticed that and jumped back narrowly dodging a pillar of fire. Only to see her already behind him with a fire demon as tall as the buildings that looked like a burning skeleton.
"Well, I needed to warm up anyway." Calamity's Eye says as he cracks his neck and gets ready for battle.
"What are you two doing?!" Aqua yells running up to Guild Master Risa as Raven runs up to Calamity's Eye to try and stop him.
"Hey you must be tired from all that fighting right?" She says in hopes it will stop him but all she gets is gently pushed aside.
"I won't kill her, me and the guild master need to talk and the only way that is happening is through this. Back up or you may get burned." He says as Raven backs up. Aqua came up with similar results as the two evacuated everyone else to a safe distance. "What a reunion, what was it, three years ago now since we last met, Risa?" Calamity's Eye asks as he starts to walk towards her.
"I would have preferred if it were longer." Risa says as more of the same fire demons started spluttering into existence. "But I can make it so that we both can get something that we want." She says as she looks down.
"Oh and how is that?" Calamity asks with a curious look on his face.
"You want to talk, then we can talk all you want, in the afterlife!" She says as she burns everything around her and charges at blinding speeds.
"You know, that feels a bit to far off to me." He says as he charges at her at just as blinding a pace.
