The sun was now setting into the dawn of night . Anna had not realized how late it was getting . The three of them had been sitting on the front porch for what seemed like just a few minutes. She was absorbed in every word Christina had said about why they had moved from Golf Port . In reality she had been talking for hours . In the conclusion that they had fled from Golf Port to start a new beginning . Not that they had forgot about Annisasia but that they had lost hope on finding her. Anna was still having a hard time taking it all in . She felt exhausted. "It's getting late . I think I should go home ."
" Honey this is your home . You even have your own room here . I have kept it up thinking one day you would come back to me . Ever year for your bithday I redecorate it . To something of ur new age , something I think you would like ."
" Christina I can't they would find out and I would be in alot of trouble ."
" Please call me Mom ..I know its hard and that you have had another mom for all these years ...but I am your mom and I have missed you more than anything in the world ." She said as a tear rolled down her cheek . Christina got up and went inside not wanting Anna to see her crying with hurt .
Zack grabbed Annas hand and with a small smile he said ," If you really want to go back .I will take you ..promise me though that you will consider comeing home over here ?You are my sister and we couldn't take finding you just to lose you again . It would devostate Mom. " Anna nodded her head in aggreiance at Zack .They both stood up . Anna grabbed her bag as Zack told her mother bye .
It was now dark . She was sure her parents were home .Would they notice she was gone ? While she was deep in thought Zack turned on the truck and headed for the main road . About 20 minuts had passed in silence . All they could here was the roar of the tires on the pavement .Realizing they were getting close to her house she turned to Zack ," Can you drop me off right before my house ? I don't want them to see you and find out ." Zack looked at her and nodded his head while giving her a warm smile .All she could see was saddness in his ice blue eyes . They were so blue it seemed as if they were glowing in the dark .
The truck slowly came to a stop four houses away from her own to be sure thet wouldn't be seen ." Are you sure you want to do this ? What if you get into real trouble and they try to hurt you ? Do you have a phine ?" Zack was very concerned with dropping Anna off . Anna gave him a cincear smile ," I'll be fine , I promise . I am going straight to bed . They probable dont even know I was gone ." Anna unbuckles her seatbelt and hopped out of the truck
She walked slowly back to het house knowing Zack was watching her to make sure she got home safely .It felt weird having a brother she had always been an only child . The thought of him trying to protect her gave her a warm comforting feeling .
Reaching the door way she paused praying that her parents were gone out of sight . Slowly she opened the door trying to avoid any extra noise or squeeks from the old door . As the door swung open it revealed both of her parents paitently sitting at the kitchen table. Silence . Bethany jumped up and hurried towards her ," Where have you been little girl ??" Anna looked at her father for help but all she got was a shake of his head .Bethany grabbed her by the back of the arm tight enough that Anna could already feel a bruise forming ." I got lost !" Anna cried tears rolling down her face . Her whole body was shaking in fear .Thomas stood up from his chair with a serious expression on his face . Anna had never seen him this way ." We don't believe you ! When we went thought the files to make sure they were all still there , there was four missing !" He threw four pieces of paper at Anna ," We found these in your desk in your room !"
Anna couldn't think everything was happening to fast . She bursted ,"Why haven't you told me that you are not my real parents ?! Why would you hide something like that from me ?! And Why.." She was cut off as Bethay slammed her into the floor . Before she could hit Anna again a lour growl erupted .Bethany Scrambled backwards.
In her place was a giant gray wold . Was this the same wold she had seen earlier that day when she was running from Zack ?? The wold stood stiff as if it were protecting her . The room started spinning ," I'm going to be sick !" The last thing she saw was bright green cat like eyes staring into hers as her world went dark .
