Chapter 5 - The cargo.

(--------)

In a room with multiple screens and electronics, a few men in a blue and silver uniform stand together with a tall and broad shouldered man, who is in the middle of talking into a small microphone. The uniform is made of a one piece soft but hardy material, giving off a faint shine like that of leather when the light hits it. On top of this one piece there is a metallic armor, giving enough protection without hindering movement. A helmet which attaches to the shoulder pads with a rubbery material making it flexible.

"Squad 4, squad 3. This is command speaking. You are not capable of handling an alien life form with Esper abilities. Gather up and extract together AFAP. I will not lose more men to this thing defending a cargo that attracts Espers." The general finishes his sentence, shoulders rising and lowering at a fast pace. His entire face is red from anger as his ice cold glare shifts to a meek man in a lab coat.

"WHAT. IS IN. THAT CARGO." He says in a loud voice as he approaches the man in the lab suit. Towering over him as he looks down on the scientist.

"W-w-we h-hired you to not ask questions. S-so just do your job." The scientist says trying to stand his ground against the general.

"YOU!!!" The general erupts, grabbing the scientist by the collar and lifting him into the air. Staring him into the eyes, the rage so palpable that it almost looks like there is small sparks of lightning shooting out of the generals eyes. He throws the scientist into the nearest wall, and just look down at him as he says in an ice cold voice.

"We are currently under attack from an Esper. And if you don't tell me why, I'm gonna find the nearest trash chute and send your ass out to freeze and suffocate. I don't care what the deal was, you failed to inform us of the chances of an Esper attacking us." The temperature in the feels freezing as the scientist realizes that the man in front of him isn't some normal mercenary.

Trying to show some semblance of professionalism the scientist sits up and tries to keep cool.

"We are transporting a new drug, which was created from the research of Espers. Its general use is strengthening of the human body, while also in theory having the chance of awakening the powers of an Esper in the person who receives the drug. Though that hasn't been proven yet, and we dont know what effect it will have, this is merely a prototype." The scientist says in a despondent matter, this no doubt being a secret project.

"So you sent it out into space with minimal security, without running any major tests? So what we've got is essentially Esper bait?" The general asks in a cold voice. The scientist nodding meekly in response.

"General, we've got movement at the extraction point. The squads aren't there yet. What are your orders?" It sounds from an sickly looking man sitting at one of the screens.

The general giving the scientist one last look before he goes back to the small microphone.
