"ANATHEMA!"
Count Alberic III couldn't believe in his ears. He is completely shocked and speechless, he was just excommunicated by the Pope . . . his own son.
Countess Emelina, Alberic's spouse also couldn't hide her shock, and so do the other members in the Count's family.
Not only the Count and his family, but the clerics and nobles are also shocked. Not even in their wildest dreams and fantasies that a Pope would excommunicate his own father, who helped him gain the position of the Roman Pontiff.
Some even think that this is a joke, but clearly it isn't. The Pope just doesn't go with a joke, he is the Vicar of Christ, his words are Christ's words, and Jesus Christ never tells a joke.
Of course, the nobles that are allies with the Count of Tusculum are dismayed by this. While his enemies cannot help but laugh inside their heads. The clerics are even more divided, the devout ones hate the election being manipulated and thus they side with the new Pope, enemies of the Count also side with the Pope on this one, while allies of the Count are completely in a dilemma, because although they gain many things from the Count, their holy oath of allegiance and obedience is to the God and the Pope, His Vicar.
(Maybe Christ has changed him to become His worthy Vicar.)
Benedict then returns to his Throne and sits there, waiting for the Communion of the Faithful to end. While his father still kneels as the kneeler, speechless, and having a hard time to process what is going on.
(Such a traffic jam!) thought Benedict.
A Papal Master of Ceremonies seems to understand what the Pontiff is thinking, he makes a hand sign and orders two guards to take the Count away from the kneeler.
Finally, after the Communion of the Faithful ends, everyone prays with Jesus in the Eucharist they have just received. Then Benedict goes to the Altar again, says the post-communion prayers.
"Benedícat vos omnípotens Deus, ✠ Pater, ✠ et Fílius, ✠ et Spíritus Sanctus."
-
May almighty God ✠ the Father, ✠ Son, ✠ and Holy Ghost, bless you.
"Amen!"
Benedict raises his right hand, and with the three fingers, thumb, index and middle, he blesses the people, making the sign of the Cross each time he mentions a Divine Person of the Holy Trinity.
Thus the Mass ends, the young Pope returns to his Throne, waiting to receive his Papal Insignias.
Then the Cardinal Protopriest and Cardinal Protodeacon come forward, each with a deacon holding a tray, on which are the pallium and the golden fisherman's ring.
The Cardinal Protodeacon says the prayer and then brings the fisherman's ring, on which engraved St. Peter fishing and the young Pope's pontifical name "BENEDICTVS IX", to the new Pope.
A Papal Master of Ceremonies helps Benedict take off his golden bishop ring and replaces it with the golden fisherman's ring. The Cardinal Protodeacon then bows down, kissing the ring and the feet of Benedict.
The Cardinal Protopriest also says the prayer and then brings the pallium to Benedict. The same Papal Master of Ceremonies helps him to wear the pallium over his shoulders, symbolizing Jesus Christ carrying His sheep on the shoulders.
Then Benedict, with the help of the deacons and Papal Masters of Ceremonies, walks to the Sedia Gestatoria and sits on it. The servants carry the Sedia Gestatoria and walk to the staircase, the servants who carry the flabella and other ceremonial objects follow behind. Two Cardinals carrying the white mitre and the Papal Triregnum walk behind.

"Father, I want to go home, I don't want to see the Holy Father anymore. We have been waiting since dawn. I'm tired."
"Anthony, just wait a little bit more and you can see the Vicar of Christ. Be patient, God will reward your patience."
"But . . ."
"Look, the doors of the balcony have opened." Another voice shouts out.
***
The doors of the balcony open, and sitting on the portable throne, which has been put down on the balcony, Benedict can see all people under, waiting outside St. Peter's Basilica. Many people cheer loudly and then there is silence because they want to witness the Coronation.
A Cardinal comes beside him and help him take off the golden mitre.
The Cardinal Protodeacon comes beside him, holding the Papal Triregnum. He says the prayer and then put the Triregnum on Benedict's head. and people begin to cheer loudly again.
After the cheering, they kneel down, prepare to receive the Apostolic blessing - "Urbi et Orbi" - "to the city [of Rome] and to the world."
A Cardinal opens the book, Benedict looks inside it and begin to read:
"Sancti Apostoli Petrus et Paulus, de quorum potestate et auctoritate confidimus, ipsi intercedam pro nobis ad Dominum."
("May the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, in whose power and authority we trust, intercede for us before the Lord.")
"Amen!"
"Precibus et meritis beatæ Mariae semper Virginis, beati Michaelis Archangeli, beati Ioannis Baptistæ et sanctorum Apostolorum Petri et Pauli et omnium Sanctorum misereatur vestri omnipotens Deus et dimissis omnibus peccatis vestris, perducat vos Iesus Christus ad vitam æter."
("Through the prayers and merits of Blessed Mary ever Virgin, Saint Michael the Archangel, Saint John the Baptist, the holy apostles Peter and Paul, and all the saints, may Almighty God have mercy on you and forgive all your sins, and may Jesus Christ bring you to everlasting life.")
"Amen!"
"Indulgentiam, absolutionem et remissionem omnium peccatorum vestrorum, spatium verae et fructuosae penitentiæ, cor semper penitens et emendationem vitae, gratiam et consultationem sancti Spiritus et finalem perseverantiam in bonis operibus, tribuat vobis omnipotens et misericors Dominus."
("May the almighty and merciful Lord grant you indulgence, absolution and the remission of all your sins, a season of true and fruitful penance, a well-disposed heart, amendment of life, the grace and comfort of the Holy Spirit and final perseverance in good works.")
The Benedict raises his right hand up, and with the three fingers, thumb, index and middle, blesses the people by making a sign of the Cross each time he pronounces a Divine Person of the Holy Trinity.
"Et benedictio Dei omnipotentis ✠ Patris ✠ et Filii ✠ et Spiritus Sancti descendat super vos et maneat semper."
("And may the blessing of Almighty God, ✠ the Father, ✠ and the Son, ✠ and the Holy Spirit, come down on you and remain with you forever.")
"Amen!"
The people make the sign of the Cross upon themselves, then raising up, they cheer for the new Pope again.
"Many years to you, Holy Father!"
"Many years to you, Holy Father!" Anthony cheering below just like his father and others.
