The queen removed her protection from everyone because the attack suddenly stopped. She immediately went to Zion to heal its wound. She whispered something on it and touched his son's stomach . Zion's wound gradually healed and only traces of blood remained when it completely healed.
"You're fine now dear." The queen said softly as she caressed Zion's left cheek. "Is everyone okay?"She asked as she looked around to check on them. They just nodded and stood up properly when the king and Magnus returned.
Anger can be read in their eyes and they do not even look tired because of fighting. The queen embraced the king's arm to accompany him. He calmed down a bit and said goodbye and tell them that they will go down for a while to find out the condition of the people.
"Hey. Are you alright? " He grabbed Astrid by the arm to check if she was injured. She distanced herself from Magnus who is surprised by her sudden reaction. Astrid is too shocked and terrified of what happened. As the tears dripped down her eyes she had been holding back. Magnus grabbed her again to comfort her and wiped the tears from her eyes.
"I'm scared." She stammered in tears. She remembers what happened and think at what will happen the next day. "Am I gonna die?"She asked when she looked at Magnus in the eye. Magnus' eyes dimmed because of the fear he can see on Astrid. He shook his head and kissed her on the forehead.
"You're not gonna die my princess. Not on my watch. We will protect you. "
Astrid nodded at what Magnus told her. Somehow she felt relieved. Magnus looked at the torn hem of her dress. Finding out what happened there.
"What happened to your gown?" He even pointed to the torn part of her garment.Astrid also looked at it and moved its fabric slightly.
"I tore it. I used it to make a bandage on Zion's wound. " She explained. Magnus just nodded as if not worried about his brother's condition. He just invited her to enter the palace to rest.
They just stayed in the palace office to rest there. Others later followed. Evangeline asked to prepare a drink to the maid. Astrid looked at them one by one and they only showed a serious face except Xeraphine who seemed to have moved on from what had happened because she was already scratching Zion. Asking if it hurts to be shot earlier.
After a while the king and queen came and sat down with their children. They seem to be talking about the tragedy. Astrid and Magnus are sitting together with Evangeline on the long sofa. Xera was on the other single sofa while Zion was sitting on the armrest. Dion is also on a single sofa in front of Xera and Zion. The king and queen are facing Astrid. There is a small glass table between them.
"The Miller's are too ready for this. And we didn't expect that. We need to be cautious. " The king's seriously announced that made Astrid even more afraid.
"My power did not work on them. I think they are using spell on it. " Xera explained to them that Astrid made her restless in her seat so Magnus' grabbed her waist to secure her seat.
"Don't worry." He simply whispered to her. Astrid just took a deep breath to relax somehow. She no longer thinks about what Magnus' weird actions just like the kiss on her forehead and the concern he shows her because of the fear she feels.
"I also have a difficulty to track their whereabouts. I just forced myself to track them that's why I am a bit weak right now. " Evangeline, on the other hand, had a problem too that makes her drink water that the maid had just gave them before King Theseus and Queen Tatiana arrived.
"Zion and I will check the bullets that the Millers used. It seems new and a bit dangerous. " Dion added.
"I wont let them take Astrid. They need to kill me first. " Magnus said angrily. He just stared at nowhere and seemed to be thinking deeply. He also tightened his grip on Astrid's waist. Astrid flinched and no longer felt comfortable.
"You need to calm down son, you're hurting Astrid." The queen scolded him. Magnus loosened his grip and apologized to Astrid. She just took it.
"I hope you don't mind but who are the Millers?" She only dared to ask that question because she was ashamed to join their conversation. But Astrid is dying in curiosity so she asked.
The King cleared his throat before speaking. "They are the family that wants to kill you. Their king is dead because your mother killed him. That's why they were so eager to kill you. You are a threat in their family and they want revenge on their King's death. " The king explained without hesitation. Astrid already know that because Magnus already said that to her.
"Why did I become a threat to their family?"She asked repeatedly. Because she did not know the reason why she became a threat to the Millers.
She is just an ordinary person and incompetent not like her companions. Astrid became even more interested in what the king would say to her. She stared at it and could not wait for the king's answer.
"There is a prophecy."
Astrid frowned at the king's answer. "A prophecy?"She clarified because she did not think that the people here believed in the prophecy. King Theseus nodded and motioned for Magnus to explain to Astrid.
"These family are our enemies. They kill innocent people for fun. Torturing them. It is against our law to kill an innocent people. That's why we are protecting every person that under our control. And that makes them angry up until now. " Magnus paused to find out if everything was okay with Astrid. He did not want Astrid to be surprised by everything she will know.
"A child will be born and make the whole kingdom at peace. That is the prophecy Astrid. " He continued.
Astrid sighed and clung tightly to Magnus. "I am that child?" She asked carefully. Magnus nodded at her in response to her question.
"The Millers found out that you are that child. They think that you will be a hindrance to their plan to conquer the whole kingdom. So they tried to kill you but they did not succeed. And now that you are back, they are preparing to kill you and make their conquest successful. " Magnus explained to her. Astrid thinks that she is in trouble. He cannot accept her destiny in this world.
"How can we stop them? How can I make the kingdom at peace? I don't have any— "
"You don't have to do anything Astrid." Magnus interrupts what Astrid is saying because she looks panicked. "But we promise you that you will be safe." Astrid was silent and did not know what to say. She was very worried about the prophecy they said.
"What can she do? How can she bring peace to the kingdom? " She thinks. Magnus held her hand because he could see that Astrid is not feeling well.
"Everything will be fine Princess Astrid. You have us. We will help you. Trust me. " Astrid just looked at everyone to get courage from them. They have this assuring smile that Astrid cant help to calm down. She was relieved and hoped that everything would be okay based on what Magnus told him. Then the Queen just tell them on what the people situation. She said that they apologized and treated the injured in the tragedy with her fellow sorcerer.
