Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 - Carnival of Reflections

At first Belle thought she'd get a really high fever when she felt cold, but seconds later she fell on completely dry ground, with a loud thud, and her butt hurt, but she was completely dry, still the memory of splashing into the river's cold water while glowing red was fresh in her mind, she stood up, rubbing her aching butt, she spun looking around, there was nothing to see at all, since the mist was so thick, it was so thick that the only thing she saw was anything inches away from her, and it was deadly cold too, cold enough to make her spine shake, she tried to step and heard a crunching sound, she instantly looked down and saw that she was standing on gravel.

"Jade!", she called out, her voice echoing in the distance, she didn't dare walk, scared that she might get lost in a the place of nowhere, she just stood there calling out to her friend, her lips trembled, she didn't knew what time it was, but speculating she thought it was about dawn, since there was little to no light at all, but the mist was just thick as ever.

Crrrrnnncch.

She looked back, her ears and mind trying to figure out the sound's source, she saw nothing, and her mind went very frantic, thoughts so dark went in her mind, making her fall, but he catch her, Jade materialized behind her just in time to catch her, a hand on her left shoulder, and the other one on her waist, a smirk of full mischief plastered on his face, even his eyes shown the same amount of mischief when she looked at him, she smacked him at the belly using her free shoulder, he dodged it using his hand that was previously holding her waist, and straight after clicking his tongue, he let go of her and she fell straight to the ground.

"My mentor told me only catch girls with manners, and I just remembered you have none.", he said and great laughter came after it, but after Belle gave him a deadly sharp stare, he held out his hand, and helped her stand up.

She felt a bit agitated with Jade, but still the longing she had for him when he was gone took control of her, and she felt fine, Jade lead their sightless walking in a manner as if he knew where they'll go, and she was very curious, not only about their destination, but also about everything that happened before he came back, she was about to ask when,

"I can't tell you now Belle, it's not safe to talk about it here, even though my mouth is sore-dry to tell you, we're in open space they may over hear even our whispers.".

Her mouth fell slack, she'd never known that Jade can read thoughts, and it made a sad frown when she looked at him, he was sad looking, a frown in his face, and eyes so deep, she thought she might drown by looking to long.

"It wasn't your thoughts, actually it's written in your face, all the questions you have in your mind, all the stirring emotions you can feel, is written in your face Belle as usual.", he said.

"Fine, then just tell where we're going?", she asked.

She was relieved when she asked that, the happiness in Jade's face came back, and he was back, the jolly, full of fun, energetic Jade she had always knew had returned.

"We're gonna have some fun in a carnival.", he said plainly, but with a smile on his lips.

As if on cue, the mist went away, and a draw bridge materialized, but it was pulled up, and they can not pass, she looked at Jade, shocked, but Jade didn't look shock at all, he just put his hand on his right pocket, and she realized that he wasn't wearing their arnis pants anymore, but a black leather jeans, and a white V-neck t-shirt, topped with a brown leather jacket, placed in his head is a brown leather cowboy hat, he honestly looked like a western cowboy hero in some stories she have read before, the one who'll rescue the heroine , or something like that.

"You think it's out of style?", Jade suddenly asked, and caught her off guard, she stuttered on the words she tried to say, but before she can say anything at all, he pulled her near the bridge, and there they stood in front of the door looking bridge, he held out his hands, showing four small, opaque, white crystals, Quarts, he throw all of it in a hole at the side of the bridge, and suddenly various hues of lights flashed everywhere, and the bridge fell open, and right there, in front of them, a carnival stood, there was a carousel in the right, and a mini Ferris wheel at the left, a few stalls were blocking their view of the roller coaster, and at the farther distance Belle notice the ride she hated riding, the Pirate's boat ride, or something like that, everything was lit up, giving of a swirl of flashing lights, making the night like scene more alive, and at the moment which belle wished she could bottle up, her jaws dropped, out of shock and wonder.

"Well, I told you I'll bring you somewhere fun, right? So what do you want to ride first?", Jade asked.

Belle just couldn't help but smile, never had she thought that this day would come, and she never would've guess it would be this magical.

She smiled brighter when she looked at Jade's face, he looked so adorable at the moment that belle couldn't stop herself from taking a stolen photo of him like how she did back then, Jade's eyes were so luminous with all the flashing lights, and belle felt so alive, as if she would never want to go back to the real world...

'but isn't this real as well?', she thought.

"I want to ride the Carousel!", Belle can't help but exclaim.

Jade smirked, "Thought you'd say that.".

And suddenly Belle was lift from the ground,

"Jade, this ain't necessary.".

"Well I can't let you feel tired, right?".

"Well, indeed, a girl must not feel tired in a date.".

And with that Belle fell down, hitting the ground with her butt.

"This is not a date.", Jade said with his eyes cold.

"Eh, I was just joking, and if this is not a date what is it then?", Belle asked a little bit irritated, She can not really think of anything to call what they were doing...

"Well it's business, I just thought it's good to bring you here for the fun.", Jade said, in a even colder voice.

"Fine, fine, deny if you want, but I'll take this as a date.", stated Belle.

"Think as you want, princess.', Jade said.

"So what business is it, when it includes going in creepy Isolated parks in the middle of nowhere?", Belle asked as she mounted of the black metal horse.

"It's called, Non of your business.", He said.

"Arrgghh, Jade don't you trust me?", she asked.

"I just don' want to put you in this.", he answered.

"Okay, then where are we going next?", she asked, being curious.

"We're going on the 'Mirror House of Time'.", he answered.

"Ooh..., for what?", she asked more interested, she felt like they were there to get something for some reason.

"Oh, nothing, or at least nothing for now.", he said wiggling his eyebrows at her.

"JADE!!!, stop teasing!!!", She shouted.

"Okay fine.", he answered simply, and his pace suddenly went faster.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Jade didn't know why, but he wanted to go here with Belle, it was so long... since they last saw each other, and he did promised to take her somewhere fun, so he took her here, but he didn't thought about how she'll take it in her head, and when she called it a "date", he can't help it but get flustered, he never knew she'd think of it that way, even if it was just to tease him, it's not like he like her, he even have every reason to hate her, but somehow he can't.
Jade went to the "Timeline Carnival" for business, he wasn't lying, he came to retrieve a artifact, a missing piece of a important file, and it was located at the mirror house, the way to the carnival was easy, which made him feel odd, he imagined a fight to happen, but even though nothing happened yet, he was in ready mode, he knew the rusterling may come anytime, especially to a place such as this that have a broken timepeace, those monster may sprang out of nowhere, and with those thoughts he remembered he quickened his pace, and didn't thought about Belle, he turned around and one of his most feared things happen, Belle was nowhere to be found.
"Belle!!!", he cried out walking the way where he came from.
'I wish she didn't left the road.'.
