Mike's eyes gleamed listening to Bella's offer but before he could say 'yes' a strong "no" of Alex reverberated in the room.
"Why" it was Mike who asked first.
Anna bit her lips as she held Mike's hands and shook her hand.
"It's okay, we are not arguing, we are just discussing the matter like adults do, alright." he assured Anna and she nodded. finally letting his hands go, she stood there at the side, in case she needed to intervene further.
Alex was a mature, kind and caring brother, but one thing which was so strong in him was he could not take favours. He was self independent, and his independence didn't let him take help, it developed to a level of being egoistic there.
"Because it's not our money Mike. It's hers. What she paid for 2 year rent was already more than we should take from her.
