Uh, that.." He said scratching the back of his head. "Actually I wanted a boy to be my roommate," he said smiling awkwardly.
But the girl just blinked and blinked then with a very blank voice she asked, "boy?" Then she looked down at him. At his whole body stopping at the place just below his waist.
His face reddened and he coughed to gain her attention but the girl was still glancing there.
"So, I can't give you the room" he repeated to get her attention back on his face. He had never seen, such a queer girl blatantly looking at a man.
"Why?" She asked again looking back at his face.
"Because I have only one room, and I was in a mood to share it." He started to make it clear that there was only one room so he would need a boy to share.
"So?" She asked still with her blank look. No emotions, nothing. Her voice although sweet sounded too mechanical.
"Huh?" Didn't he explained well or was she dumb? "So there was only one bed, one bathroom, one closet." He replied tapping his foot.
"And?" She asked again, still gazing in his eyes.
"And I can't share it with you." He said with irritation. He looked at his watch. It's already 4:30 he just had one hour left and the stalls were at a distance. He needed to hurry.
"Why not?" She asked still clueless of his expressions and reasons.
"Huh? Can you share the bed with me?" He asked taking a step closer to her to scare her from his bad-boy vibe. But he looks nothing but a rat trying to scare the lion with his small teeth.
But the girl just nodded. And then blinked once again gazing into his eyes. Which made his eyes widen. Is she serious?
'How can she share a room with a stranger? Or is she a pervert?' He added the last line remembering how she was looking at his private parts just a moment ago.
"You... How could you say so? I don't want to share my room with a pervert like you." He replied with reddened ears and then turned around ready to go. But she spoke again, stopping him midway.
"What is a pervert?" She asked, tilting her head. He turned back to see her and she still had that blank look on her face but her eyes were clear. It didn't look like she was lying.
He took a deep sigh and asked "where are you from? Where is your family?"
The girl blinked and looked around, "I live far away from here. I got lost here and I don't have a family." She replied in the same blank voice.
There was no sadness in her voice. For a second he doubted her answer but her eyes were still clear.
"Oh, so that's why you need a house. But where are you living now? He asked her curiously.
She blinked and blinked. Then she turned her face towards a direction and pointed with her hands. " there" he followed her line of sight and looked with widened eyes. She was not pointing at any hotel as he was expecting, but a park. She was looking at the bench of a park where there was a bundle of what looks like ancient clothes. A robe and a dress and a black box.
To say he was shocked was an understatement. He looked at the girl back with horror. She was a stunning beauty. Platinum blonde long straight hairs, bluish-grey Phoenix eyes, heart-shaped face, broad head, chiselled jaw and fair skin. She would be around 5" 7, with a slim waist and long legs.
She has the face and figure of an international model and here she was living on the road. What if some ruffians would take advantage of her?
But that was not making any sense. He didn't know much about fashion but she was wearing fine clothing. She was not looking poor to him. So even if she was lost shouldn't she book a room in the hotel. But how could he ask that without looking like he was interfering in her personal matters.
He ran a hand in his hairs frustrated. Fuck! He cursed in his heart. And then took a deep breath and smiled at the girl who was still staring at him. He found her way of looking was too creepy.
He coughed to gain her attention from his eyes but the girl just blinked and still stared. He opened the mouth to say something but her eyes were just making it difficult to do.
He opened the first button of his shirt and loosened it a bit to get away from this suffocating feeling like his soul had been searched.
He sighed again and looked at the advertisement, calming his mind. He asked, "Do you have the money to pay for the room?"
But he didn't get the reply, after waiting for a few more seconds he looked back at her. She was still staring at him. getting his attention she asked, "what is money?"
"Huh?" He had expected yes, no or anything but this was not what he had ever expected to hear.
"Don't you know what money is? " he couldn't help but ask.
The girl blinked again, and shook her head while still starting at him.
"Then how did you enter there and have the food?" She asked full of suspiciousness he had seen her sitting in the cafe with a sandwich and coffee.
"Food?" She asked, tilting her head. "What is food?"
"You had your coffee and sandwich in the cafe, sitting there?" He asked, explaining her more. She was just like a baby asking everything.
'Has she had some mental illness. He couldn't help but think she is a mentally challenged girl looking at her behaviour'
The way she looked at him but then how did she understand the advertisement if she didn't understand anything else. Was she playing a prank on him? All these thoughts were making him feel frustrated.
