"Helga, what do you mean a new element?" he holds himself back from trying to rush her.
"Deres a way, to combine eleco-berries to a clear crystal." Alred reaches into his bag, pulling out a pack of papers. She rushes forward, taking the paper out of his hand. "Dhere?"
"Just laying on a table over there." Alred points to the room. The two of them sit down and start to go the process of creating a lighting crystal. After a few hours the lighting storm comes to a stop.
"We have three eleco-bombs but I'm going to need for berries. We need to hurry if I'm going to be able to counter his magic."
"Dhere be fields to the west, thed control the moles that way, so thed won't attack you." Her talking is becoming clearer for them to understand. "I can't come with you."
She pulls her hair off her neck, a golden bolt of lighting pulses on her neck.
"Slave mark? Those are band."
"Maybe where you come from, but dhis is the Wild-lands. Dnly the strong rule."
"That explains why he was able to launch an attack from so far away. Laena and Agis, head west to collect berries. Jep, stay here and watch him. I'm going to work on making a crystal."
The two hurry out the door, both peaking up at the sky as they go. Jep reties the man to a post and then collects a chair to sit in.
Alred sits on the floor. In one hand a small clear crystal in the other, a tube of eleco-bomb. Although they are more like jam, just don't drop them.
He pours mana into the crystal, pushing the tip of the crystal into ground. He draws a circle, then draws a bolt of lighting through the middle.
He pours mana into the tube of eleco-berries, the bolts of electricity dance as they mix with mana. He places the tube where lighting bolt changes direction. He places the clear crystal at the next change.
"Seems everything in is place. I'm glad grandfather taught me basic runes." He looks over to Helga, who's eyes haven't left what Alred is doing. "The person who laid the rune on you is a master."
He turns back to the circle, he pours more mana into the circle. The mana mixes with the eleco-berries jam. The jam substance grows darker, the mana pulls the yellow out. Bolts of lighting dance around the mana.
He lefts the tube, pours the yellow mana on the clear crystal. The mana in the circle lefts up pulling the yellow mana through the clear crystal. The crystal floats up in the air. The yellow starts to fade away. Expect in the center of the old clear crystal, sitting in the middle golden bolts dance with in the crystal.
"Dhat took fatherkins a year to reach." Red smiles and tosses the crystal to her.
"I benefit from the fact that he has ready done all the work. I can cast one decent spell with that crystal, but it's very unstable."
She tilts her head, looking at the crystal. She jumps up and rooms into the other room, coming back with a crystal eye.
"Wow, most people don't keep those around."
"Huh? We got a box full. You is right. Dhis crystal isn't strong enough."
"Right, I have a crystal that may work but I didn't want to use it. Is there anymore clear crystals here?" She shakes her head.
"I looked when I got this." She adjust the eye. "Dhey took them."
"Shame. Does Newhill have a market?"
"Yeah, dhey run dheir prices a bit high."
"OK, I will be back in a bit."
Alred walks outside and mounts a horse. He could see the look on her face, she didn't understand how he was just going to ride into the enemies town.
He didn't push his horse, just rode at peace. He could Agis and Laena picking the berries off in the distance. They each took a look at him and then hurry to pick more berries. It took him an hour to ride I to town.
"Halt. Towns closed to outsiders." The guards crossed their spears. The older one spoke up.
"I'm a mage, I only need a few supplies. I can get you a list. I'll wait here." He hops down from his horse, holding out a sack of gold.
"Three gold, I never saw you." Alred shakes three gold pieces out and hands them over and walks in. The younger guard looks over.
"Here's a gold for you. Keep your mouth shut. He's a mage." He looks back at Alred as he walks down the street. "He could blow this place to hell and back."
The streets of Newhill Bay are clean and tidy. The people that are here seem to be the better ones. They must keep the poor from the front.
Alred rush to the first store he saw crystals for sale. He normally doesn't have to buy too many. Being a mage of a kingdom has it perks, like getting a set amount of crystals as payment.
The first shop with a crystal shop had a unicorn painted on the sign. The windows clean and the stone steps that lead inside where still in tack.
He opens the door to see everything in order. Not a speck of dust to be seen anywhere. Most of the weapons had big tags on them written in gold.
"Hello, welcome to the Farting Unicorn. How can I help you today?" The young lady standing on the counter ask.
He looks at a sword to his left. A basic hilt, nothing look special about the long sword. He flips the tag over to see its worth a hundred gold.
"Wow." She cross her arms and tapped her foot. He looks closer at the tag.
'Fire long sword- Two runes: First rune is for fire-ball. Second rune is speed boost.'
"Never seen a gnome before?" She understood cross her arms, "What can I get you?" Rolling her eyes.
"Your part right, I've never seen a free gnome. The prices here are a little high. I need clear crystals, any size."
"You must be from Southwick?" She hopes down from the counter and walking towards the back of the shop. "Come with me, Bunir sells the crystals."
It has taken him over a week to reach this point, Bunir is here. If he can learn this light magic, he can go back and save the world tree. The thought of Helga and learning a new element making him think.
'Do I have time to do both?'
