Jason looked at the two for a while but didn't say anything. Bryan stood up slowly from the chair to which he was tied and cleaned his bloody nose with the back of his palm.
"When did you notice?" he asked.
Jason took a deep breath and said, "You two left for a walk and never came back for 4 hours, I had to think something was up."
Bryan laughed self-depreciatingly and said, "we were kidnapped and brought here."
Jason glanced at Bernadette who was still silent before saying, "you know I had other thoughts too," he scratched his head with a wry smile, "I thought that you two had eloped together and were entangled in the business of making babies…
"…if I had found you here free and untied I would've confirmed my guess but now I'm convinced."
