Bernadette didn't say a word for a long time and Bryan didn't know what else to do so he decided to give her the gifts he had prepared.
"Here," he handed her the bag, "this is your birthday present."
She looked at the bag for a while before reaching out to take it. "Thank you so much for remembering my birthday; you are the only person who remembered my birthday today."
More tears rolled down her flawless cheeks and her watery eyes made her look more alluring.
"Is that why you were drinking?"
She nodded, "I felt so lonely and forgotten that I wanted to die. The feeling's so suffocating and I felt like I don't belong anywhere. Everyone just finds a way to abandon me in the end."
"Shhh," Bryan used his thumb and wiped her tears slowly like he was treating an egg, "you aren't alone; you have people all around you who love you and care for you…"
